It's finally here: The final round of one of the most beautiful gauntlets in sports. The near-endless playoff overtimes and countless surprises have led us to the apex of the NHL year. It's what everyone dreams of when they are younger: Hoisting the Stanley Cup, "the heaviest 35 pounds you will ever lift".
Who will be competing this year? What happened to the other teams that fell short? These questions will be answered (somewhat) in this video.

In all fairness, Nashville did not really choke. They pretty much became the Senators. I swear to god, every single underdog team this year got their hopes and dreams crushed by the Penguins.

Moved to Piitsburgh in 1990 when I was 14. Discovered hockey watching the Penns 91 season. Been a fan ever since. I'm not fanatical but I got pride. I get that people hate Pittsburgh, but it's a great town with a lot of love for their sports teams. Now living in the Philadelphia area I see the struggle and heartbreak their fans go through. I just don't know how they do it. I think the 14 yo me would have had a hard time discovering that love for hockey if I hadn't been where and when I was at the time. I have a lot of respect for these die hard fans. I wish the Preds the best of luck. I hope it's an exciting series.

Glad this didn't age well, although it sucks that we've seen first round eliminations since. We would've been back to back champions if Trotz had stayed (or at least we would've made the conference final against the Bruins). Not sure how 2020 and 2021 would've gove, there's a chance we would've kept winning but there's also the chance we eould've followed the Penguins laughable trejectory...winning 2 playoff games in 3 years. No matter how bad we've been since that cup we aren't the same level of failure as the Penguins. At least we have 5 playoff wins in that timespan.
