What I thought wouldn't happen is becoming a reality: The NHL playoffs will be upon us, but with a few changes. First, no fans. It's a bummer, but considering circumstances, makes sense. Secondly, there will be a play-in round with four extra teams in each conference. This sets up a 24-team showdown where even the lowliest team has a shot of winning the cup (or the draft lottery). Finally, both conferences are in their respective bubbles. The East to Toronto and the West to Edmonton.
The result is, hopefully, a conclusion to a tremendously messed up situation. Doesn't change much in objectives, but in teams getting injured players back fresh and ready to play. Here's to a successful playoff run, whomever wins.

Lebron needed Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, and Avery Bradley. It's obvious but ESPN and Adam Silver doesn't care.

Facts, it’s been a great season man
I'm proud that they finally seem to be turning a corner to be a legit contender after years of mediocrity. They no longer seem like a "first round exit" or "barely miss the playoffs" team like the Wild or the Canadiens. They seem like a team on the rise despite G and Jake getting up there in age. All thanks to some great coaching by Vigneault and some very smart additions to the team.

@Razh 80 Avenged? I've been saying all along that the conga line of injuries was the Hockey Gods' punishment for the Jackets staying viable despite losing a massive chunk of talent in the offseason. I was saying close to the shutdown point that they were likely going to burn Nationwide Arena to the ground in a fit of unbridled rage if the Jackets continued to do well despite said injuries, and then they managed somehow to one-up my expectations by unleashing their wrath upon all of professional sports. If the Jackets even start to sniff the Finals, the Hockey Gods will probably unleash nuclear armageddon upon the planet. They hate Columbus with the red-hot passion of a thousand suns.
