This is the story of my 17 year old Fiat Stilo Michael Schumacher edition that I restored. It is a rare car and i have been working on it for over a year. I have never worked on a car like this before and it was a great learning experience. In this video series, I will show you how I restored this car.

I noticed some of the footage does not have the same resolution. I will work on that in the next video! Hope you still like this old footage and we soon jump straight to 2023 where i will replace the rear bushings , interior parts and we will check if the skywindow survived the winter! :D

This engine is beautiful 👍👍👍 You’re hobby inspired me, and now I’m rescuing a fiat stilo 2.4 Abarth 😊 I thought it will be easier. Now question for you as I think you know more about this model than the manufacturer 😎 How to mount the cam belt? And how to put the tensioner in the right position? I’m begging you HELP 🙏

The thing is I cannot tighten the belt on the permanent tensioner on the exhaust side@@ItalianRebuild
@@przemek3099 There is only one tensioner for the belt! :)
@@ItalianRebuildBy fixed tensioner I meant the bearing under the exhaust cam.
@@przemek3099 I think you mean the "roller" next to the waterpump? As that is the first part underneath the exhaust cam. It is fixed with a bolt only.

I see that there is ESP here, but it seems that there is no button that would stand next to the switch for CITY, ASR..and turn ESP on and off with it, it is already always activated! I didn't know that. Some regular Stilos have that switch.
The older ones had a ASR button to turn on/off. They later removed that button and implemented into the Stilo so it is always on.

What is the cost of rebuilding this engine? Parts still available?
Complete rebuild of this car was around 750.
Car cost me 500euro.
Parts were gaskets/seals/thermostat etc.
Ofcourse paint etc....
Parts are still available on eBay/Autodoc etc
@@ItalianRebuild So the inside of the engine was good? It doesn't burn oil through the rings?
@@miszczbakdoruxd5927 The replacement engine is fine. I had to add 0.5L in 1 year....so little to no oil use. Depends on type of gasoline also....
E10 is bad.
@@ItalianRebuild And how did you set the new timing belt? On the marks themselves or did you use locks? Because this engine does not like to be set without locks. Then there may be problems with the vacuum.
@@miszczbakdoruxd5927 Without locks. Engine was already on time so kept it like that. No vacuum problem and car is running perfect for 1.5 year.
Just used the oldskool method with tdc. ( Top dead centre ).
where is selespeed ? ;)
Maybe if the channel grows i will make a Stilo Uproad 2.4 Selespeed..
