I think this is great for those riders that used to have the capability and skills but become physically handicapped, and still desire to ride. I don’t think newbies should solely rely on all of these new electronic aids, abs, anti-wheelies, etc. Riders definitely need to have their skills honed in order to maintain the highest levels of riding. I personally don’t like electronic aids, but I’ve taken riding courses on beginner and advanced levels so my skills are developed and continuously improving.
believe it or not, riding on two or one wheel while intoxicated is dangerous because of slow reaction times and not because of balancing issues. cheers :}
Hell yeah I lost my entire leg in a motorcycle accident a year ago so even getting a bike off the stand is crazy hard, plus coming to stop this would be awesome wish I knew when it was coming out I really wana get back on the road with a bike again
@@AllinOne-xc2ju we dont need four wheeler its difficult to drive and covers more area causing traffic hurdles on roads. And in small crowded streets its impossible to carry four wheeler. Was it really difficult to think about advantages?
Creating solutions for problems that doesn't even exist starts paralysing human. For example, we are not able to remember 2 or 3 mobile numbers nowadays but we used to memorize all relatives' numbers when mobile phones entered the market
This is an excellent idea. This will really help riders who physically cannot balance a bike as well as others, and could really make stopping at a red light on a motorcycle safer, and faster.
I know of several motorcycle buddies that love riding but can no longer ride due to physical disabilities. They would love this and we can ride together again!
There is a much better system for stabilizing a bike at or near stops for those needing help. Two little arms come out with small wheels to keep bike vertical. Then retract upon moving.
no motorcycle rider wants this. (edit) sorry, did not think it through. Actually, this is a great idea for anyone physically unable to balance the bike in slow or no motion.
This is awesome! Not for a person with normal abilities but for all the people that live bikes but can not handle the weight cause of leg problems or similar!
thats the life of an engineer. sometimes people just love to ride and keep aguing about speed etc etc. they dont remember and know about hard work and effort to make it
Balancing is literally half the reason to own and ride a motorcycle. I bet any motorcycle rider would agree with me on that one. Now if someone really has balance issues, they probably don't want to ride a motorcycle anyway. If they have no issues with balancing generally, then it's a fun thing and makes life a lot more fun as long as you are a responsible rider and aren't doing tricks and stunts on the regular streets and roads....
How does this take away control? This only helps the bike balance at slow speeds. So if i pull up to a stoplight i don't have to put my feet on the ground, sounds pretty nice and takes nothing away from riding expect that....
blu3flare25 it does. You learn alot when riding slow about your bike and how it reacts to certain movements. For example if i ride a 100kg bike or a 230kg bike its a huge difference. My driving instruktur always said everybody can drive fast with a bike but driving slow is the real challenge.
You don't learn anything about driving slow expect balance. At higher speeds the bike is always naturally balanced from the centrifugal forces. You also lose nothing from technology this except not having to put your feet on the ground at a stoplight. Your driving instructor was just giving tips for absolute beginners. If everybody could drive fast we would all be pro racers..
blu3flare25 ok ok so lets just say u would biy this tech and im a person who would not. We just have different opinions on riding and what that means. Like self driving cars wheres the fun in that? But thats a different subject. ;)
Can you imagine if you were disabled in anyway? And instead of a trike as the only bike oriented transport on offer to you this was available? Wow....thank you honda.....im sure you have just made a lot of able and non able body persons see a light at the end of the tunnel..
If you wash out the front tire on a motorcycle the only way to save it is to put your foot down and push of the ground. If you cant do that because you are disabled you're gonna crash. 3 wheels are a much better option
Before watching the video, I knew those dumb bikers would say 'this is not a bike for a real man like myself' Why don't you give up all safety/modern features on your car since it's girly too? What kind of man drives a car with power steering? what are you? a 16 year old girl? Nav with back up camera? what are you? asian woman driver?
What's with automatic vs manual? Less hassle but less control. (Manual saves fuel) In the usa everyone drives automatic maybe but in other parts of the world (europe) the majority doesn't.
Dumb bikers? Guy you've probably never rode a bike and your probably too afraid to do anything. Riding a motorcycle takes skill and years of learning the mechanics of the machine. People like you will buy this bike think your oh soo cool and when it comes time to ride a real bike you'll be fucked. This is great though for wounded veterans or people with disabilities so I will not discredit that.
Very interesting and amazing technology, but if this makes it through, there will be a big drop in "learning how to ride and stop" and "the true riding experience."
What they should make is senser on bikes that can give you warning sound inside your helmet by blue tooth if someone too close or approaching behind you and beside you
its interesting to see how it reacts on crashes! i mean if you kick it or something will it still stay up? also if your bike is down can you hit a switch and get itself up? we see many times riders cant lift their heavy big bikes this could help them!
Well, if you go fast and not this slow, it will turn off probably. Btw if you did ride a bike then you should know going fast helps you stay on the bike.
it's the same like in a car with the steering assist.. on higher speeds it doesn't work only on low speeds do you notice it.. people have become so accustomed to it some of you youngsters probably don't even know what im talking about..
Nice best comment on this whole thread! Your logic is undeniable. If it cost Honda too much to go with the automated floor at this point in life, than the world is not ready for this bike. Lol
I like that this offers counterbalancing / self-balancing. For a person who had friends who have died in motorcycle accidents, this should make the bike a less frightening and safer experience. I am so scared to ride now. This would get me back on a motorbike.
You imagine sitting in traffic and the handlebars are going back and forward rapid to balance itself, you'll have an injury in no time. I want to know what will happen if it turns left to balance itself but you need to turn right quick? You'll be fighting against it.
Yeah, and imagine how wonderful the non-mechanical link between handlebars and front wheel decides to glitch and not respond while driving at high speed. This is as horrible an idea as fixed-pitch propellers on flying cars/person carrying drones.
You're proved to dumb just like everyone else here. Pay attention, this is meant to provide balance at low-speeds, because that's when it's most necessary. When sitting still in a motor-bike, you have to prop, or set your legs out so the bike doesn't fall, with this technology it just automatically balances itself. Even more impressive, is that it manages to balance itself, when you're required to move very slowly like in traffic. Learn to pay attention, this is not balancing technology for racing, you don't need it then.
First, stick shift and now this you guys are killing the fun part of driving even an old will prefer riding a bike without such kind of autonomous asspull

Durox Kilo I know bro, it wasn’t serious lol
That self balancing feature is dope, however imagine when you doing a tight turn and suddenly the bike starts balancing itself?
I don't think honda will ignore that if they are able to develop such a great wonder...
"crashed in the truck"
I think it is turned only on low speed
You should check out the BMW’s. Theirs have video for doing turns xD
@crzykoment d3
Great to see Honda leading the way.More quality, more good times.

They say it as if entry-level riders will be able to afford this bike.
Jake lol!!
regardless of their skill level, but very dependent of their wealth level
Yes. Statistically, beginner riders (i.e. teenagers) can't afford this... except if they are sugar babies to a flithy rich old guys
Self balancing bikes exist in GTA's 1,2,5
Hahaaa

U nailed it bro
Lol
DAILYDRIVENEXOTICS GTR r-35 yeah i know what your mean
The bike drives autonomous but people have to turn the presentation plate , wtf ?

I think I would have added reverse gear before self balancing.

Sorry to hear that. I'm very sure that bike will be a big help to you, as long it's legal in your country to ride with a disability. 👍🏍️

Zaenal Fahmi 300cc 4 cylinder would do. 👍

What's the point of having a two wheeler if you're so fucking scared drive a car...... Ridiculous
DIRT RIDER i agreed until i relized maybe people who have disabilities could use it do not completely pointless
Dude don't disrespect cars
Think about how great this is for disabled people...
Leo Smith tru, i didnt even think of that , good human
No more trikes on the road.
disabled people will benefit better with electric wheelchairs that can climb stairs .. imho

Kinda scary to think i can move the front wheel itself. One malfunction in a corner and you eat pavement.

10 minutes later no battery
henry nenjamin ,just as well, your low speed balancing skills will die also.
