Now, I am not a fan of you and don't generally watch any of your content - but I have been in the doll hobby (specifically collecting volks) for about a decade now.
I don't know how I ended up here but I fully expected to cringe at what you'd say about them.
- Yet there is nothing cringeworthy about this video. You clearly took a lot if time to research about the different kinds of dolls, sizes, companies etc. to find out which would suit you. You also made the active choice against recasts and for the original doll, which I can only respect.
Thank you for making this video and for including so much important information for your viewers. You have a large audience of whom many probably don't know many things about these dolls - making it even more meaningful that you made sure to give them a proper introduction into the hobby and warned them of recasts. I truly wish there were more videos like this one to clear up people's misconceptions.

I've always LOVED ball jointed dolls, especially the fairyland ones. I find bjds to be so beautiful and detailed so it makes me happy just to look at pictures of them. I would consider getting one but the only downside is that they're so expensive!

I am but I hate that she's joined xD shes hardly done ANY research and shes just going to bring elitists into the hobby.. she even said cheaper dolls are made with cheaper materials and like I wish I could have punched through my screen cause that's BS.
But for myself I have 4 dolls(technically three cause ones my moms but it's in the house so-) two resinsoul(legits ofc) and two fairyland(recasts)

The bjd sculpts she was referred to are actually called Recast. Literally because they are just made from making a mold and cast of the original ones

I recently bought my first! Her name is Alice, she's a "special" version of the actual Alice in Wonderland doll. Been on and off about getting one for years, finally got her! For the second one, I'm going to create a doll version of the korean roleplay figure I've been developing since years. Her name is Jeon, a kumiho...yes I named her pancake XD can't wait for this to happen! So satisfying to know you're able to hold what you've been working on for so many years in your own hands...so hyped. and yours is a cutie, just like you are, Venus! Lovely doll, lovely lady.

Katie Blaschke buy a recastt. Or just a cheaper brand in general! I know she said they had poorer quality but she didn't do her research because a few cheaper companies actually have a lot better quality than volks. It's all about paying for the brand when it comes to bjd. But you can find a legit for as low as 90! RS cost about 150$ but I got two on the second hand for 75$ each~ and recasts well people hate them because they're copies but their quality id just as good. Looking to pay 80-120 for one thatd normally cost 600-800$
Duckily ART, please, don't so readily advertise recasts because while you already own one (I saw you mentioned she was your avatar? She's quite a darling), it's not nice to spread the word out in the open, BECAUSE recasts are not just copies, it thieves from the original artist's ideas, their work, their passion, and all the effort they put into making a doll. Making BJD faces alone, are not simple, and to be honest, VOLKS whilst they charge large, don't earn large. Their BJD team is not as big as people like to think it is and the artist who makes their dolls are not super rich from their dolls. So please be respectful of the crafter, and if you want to recommend recasts, please do it privately instead of promoting it so freely. There are reasons people don't like recasts and it's not because they're elitists. :) Thank you and I hope you understand~

I will advertise recasts because even if they're not good its the persons choice to buy one or not. They'll learn about them anyway, so really "advertising" them does nothing but say 'Hey even if you get a recast there's still a place in the hobby for you
