You're a lifesaver! I've been having a hard time finding a tutorial or any information really on how the scatterbrush tool works, how to customize it, how to make new ones, etc. and since my pts2 did not come with default brushes for scatterbrushes, I couldn't even mess around with a preexisting file like I could with regular brushes. Thank you so much!!
EDIT: it looks like I can't adjust the settings (angle, scaling, jitter, scattering, etc.) for my scatterbrushes in Sai2 directly, the settings don't show up where they do on your version, so I think my only option is to modify them in the settings configuration file, or download an older version of Sai2, or keep looking and hope I just missed it and it's just somewhere else. It's a shame because one of the main appeals of Sai in my opinion is that you can quickly and easily adjust your tool settings to fit your needs. If I need to close Sai2 and change the settings and reopen it every time, it's going to get frustrating pretty fast :(
EDIT2: Nevermind, I realized I just need to click on the little triangle to get to these settings.

@@MyLovelessArt After rewatching the video I realized you do explain and show the little arrow you're supposed to click on, so it's all on me for not paying attention. I'm surprised though because I updated Sai2 a few months ago and they never caught my attention (neither the one next to the brushes nor the one next to the textures), even when I was exploring the software clicking on every single button I could find and trying to figure out everything that's been changed or added, compared to the first version, I never noticed you could click on them.
Also I noticed you have a Sai2 "program tour" video so I'm going to check it out in case there is more stuff I never noticed!

why my paintool sai doesn't have scatter? T^T
Sigh, it doesn't work for me for some reason, the brushes just don't show up in the program. I did check the file, it's saved as bmp and everything :(
I know it is picky on the folder, is it in the correct one?
@@MyLovelessArt I'm pretty sure it is, it's the one where the deafault scatter brush "Stars" was in, and I wouldn't know which other folder it would be
why it not work with me ?? ;;; i did using photoshop as same as you but when i open sai2 and try to find the brush, it was not there
Did you make sure you saved it out as the proper file? :)
@@MyLovelessArt I even draw in the old file "Stars" to see what will happen, funny thing is when i return and tried the brush, it still a normal"stars" ....
I know this might be weird but I have multiple folders for Sai due to updates. Maybe you put in the wrong folder?
this had happened to me, turned out the correct folder is C:\Users\****\Documents\SYSTEMAX Software Development\SAIv2\settings\scatter
thank you but , did you only make the shape into gray color ? and save it ? is there any exact color for the shape ?
The brush needs to be made in grayscale. But, when you use it in the program you will be able to use any color once it's a brush.
