I actually had the honor to have had a drink with Jon Pardi personally this year in March when he came to Hill Country in Beaumont Tx. and we spoke about his grandma and how much I love his music.... Keep up the good work Jon Pardi you are bringing the real county music feeling back!..... Sitting here at home having a nice cold Budweiser listening to Pardi!
What kinda beer did he get?
That's awesome.
Beaumont is not in the hill country just saying
Carroll Wzmsley
he is referring to an establishment in Beaumont called Hill Country.
Brigido Angeles I want to talk to Jon Pardi about his grandma and songs too!!!!! Huge fan!! Jon definitely is just amazing and true blue California country!!
This is what we are missing in COUNTRY music today...Damn good
You that right sir.
He grew up about 10 miles from me and yet you will hardly hear him on the radio around here, I listen on the KOKE FM app out of Austin and the play him all the time though. Shameful
@@gmandersonjr at least we also have Chris Stapleton! These guys are the ones who are gonna fill those shoes!
@@monicatrickey263 i like your attitude.
I thank you.
This is one of my all time favorite songs by George, and the fact that Jon Pardi covered this just makes me the happiest girl ever
Daytona Hernandez it was actually originally a Keith Whitley song..
Now I know that this is awesome 😊 and it hits home even more. Because I grew up on all this country music, and I get it . Cheer's
@@marissarobinson72 Keith was the best vocalist of all time.
I'd marry you just for loving this song.
One of my favorite Keith Whitley songs
Holy crap dude!! It takes a lot of balls to cover the King! Awesome brother!
True but Keith Whitley is original singer of this song.
We don’t have much of the real authentic country anymore, so it’s nice to hear it. Keep them songs coming Jon.
He is real even if he from cali. H
Love it. Not just anyone can touch a King song. You got My Vote Pardi!!
Keith Whitley did it also
You sir did George Straight very proud! We need more of this sound in our music, incredible job!!!
Just love that voice, no matter what u sing....
Hi Brenda, how are you doing?
It's artists like Jon Pardi that are take Country music back and bring is back to us
Because it ain't Florida and Georgia line BS
"And I got cassette tapes.....and I'm old"...lol. LOVE this!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have to comment.
This song…….This song………
Through the toughest time as a nurse. 2020❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I drove from Bakersfield to Los Angeles to work front line as a Covid-19 Strike team nurse.
This song was my favorite listing to the sweet words… like no one would leave me alone 🥲💕💕💕
Reminded me of my Grandma in Heaven who used to sting to me.
God was definitely with me. I never caught Covid but I watched many Nurses just not come back to work the next day 🥲😢
I replayed it a million times on UA-cam on my drive to work…
Remember there was no one on the highway because everything was shut down. The sun would be rising and it was so beautiful.
I learned a lot about myself during that time in my life.
Anyways…..thank you for your version of this song. Amazing how music can soothe a persons soul. ❤
“Cassette tapes” still have my collection.. just can’t get rid of them; guess that’s makes me “old”🤭
As a student of Sound Recording Technology it is so refreshing to hear artist that can play without the big band as well as with and still sound amazing, without all the added effects such as plug ins on DAWs , just playing acoustics ,.great!
Douglas Poskey .
Exactly.
Check out Luke combs
He can cover anything and it sounds better then the original recoding
His original music is great !
Wish we had more artists like Jon pardi thank you brother
Never been so hypnotized by a voice. Never felt the same pain this song is allowing. God bless you Jon for being able to really hit home in ones heart through the sound of your voice❤
Hes real
Very few people could pull this off, but you sir, are 1 in a billion! Spectacular!! I mean…. Wow!
Well done, pure country at it's best... Long live George Strait and God Bless you Jon... Your country singing friend from the land down under!
I'd have to say this is the one song that made me truly fall in love with country music. Sure I was exposed to all kinds of music through my parents, but it was heavy metal & old school funk that caught my ear as a teenager. Then as an adult in my early twenties, I become involved in a 3 year relationship, and decided to break it off after thinking "the grass is greener on the other side".
I heard this song on a classic country radio station in Phoenix in the early 90s, and it spoke to me and everything I did wrong, but couldn't take back.
Still think of her from time to time.
Grandmother has a new favorite, I'm sure. This was my favorite from George and it was a privilege getting to hear you sing it.
George would be very proud of the acoustic version of this song this is real country boy keep it up
Not really!
I'm standing in my house listening to this AMAZING song!!! I've got chills guys!! 😯😯😯🥰🥰🥰
Hi April, how are you doing?
Jon,….THANK YOU! You are keeping the last bit of real country music still alive.
Brother check out zach top. You’re welcome
Great song great singer
THAT VOICE....SO PURE AND COUNTRY......HEART EYES HEART EYES
Hands down one of the best George Strait covers I've heard yet. He played it live and it was awesome. Had everyone slow dancing in the place.
Good job Jon. From a fan from Chico California.
HE IS THE MAN! I went to see him live, nothing short of incredible. Great classic country music with a hint of modern spin on it. But the fact he sounds better live than on record is a testament to his talent
I saw him 4 times and he rocked everywhere he played. Dance like a champ
Fantastic man songs country music band great 👍 Jon pardi you rock star you’re 1 in a million Jp😅
What a nice performance of of this classic. Too bad I'm only allowed to "Like" it only once on UA-cam.
The only other person who could do this song good.
Now this is real Country Music . Thank You Jon Pardi.
Love this song. You are bringing country back to country music😁😁
Hi Deborah, how are you doing?
I would sing this song over and over during my Navy bootcamp time... love this song... helped me cope with the stresses of bootcamp. Very good memories!!
I swear I LOVE this man’s voice!
Amen Sista..He's 🔥 going to see him Private Venue April 1
I am a voice girl too, when you hear a good one you really notice. So sexy!
My new favorite country singer
Jon this could be your next single on radio would be huge for your career my man!!
Mo Pitney does a fabulous job with his sister Holly singing “{Don’t Touch Me”.
Mo also does a great job on “Borrowed Angel”.
Mo’s Tribute to Merle Haggard singing “Famer’s Daughter” was a great Job.
Mo singing “Miami, My Amy” was great.
I listened to all the songs a few times & am really waiting for Mo to fall back on his roots with the traditional classic country he is making himself famous for, & to come up with a couple old skool originals. What sets Mo apart from the other up & coming stars is his emotions while singing. So might call it an act, but I call it part of the song. Without the emotion, all you have is Jon Pardi. A song without the emotion. It really does need to come from the inside, the heart. Really looking forward to seeing more of this young man & his promising future.
Chris Stapleton, Wow, Whiskey & You. Listen to it. BINGO !!
Whitney Morgan, “White Dove”, “Today I Started Loving You Again”, “Highway Patrolman”, & “Grandpa’s Guitar”. The whole Album “Grandpa’s Guitar is worth listening to & it’s free on Amazonh Prime. :)Some of the best modern music that will ever fester them ears.
How could 500 people dislike this?? They must know nothing about country. Jon Pardi keep it up brother!!
Lovely just lovely
Love it
I hope you sing this when you come to Tempe AZ September 🥺
Hi Krystal, how are you doing?
Nobody in his right mind would of left her.❤💙
Love your music John Pardi!
Oneof my favorite George Strait songs. You did it proud.
This is the first time I watched this video and for some reason I am crying. Jon Pardi, an awesome cover.
Thanks for your love and encouragement and support toward me and my career,😊 kindly text me your Gmail if you would like to chat with me.privately
Hi kitty, how are you doing?
Hearing this for the first time. Jon Pardi you are an amazing artist. I had chills reading the title. You blow the rest out of the water, hell I think they under my porch now!
FANTASTIC SONGWRITER
this was keith whitley song before george strait. jon did excellent cover of a great song
Handsome and talented guy. I think he did a fine job.
Now that is an authentic country voice... 👏 👌
That intro... I used to do that as well going thru my grandparents music except they were records and 8 tracks, and some cassettes. I would be in the sitting in the driver's seat listening to Donna Fargo, Kris Kristofferson, Wille pending to be driving on some roadtrip ro wome awesome other then Lincoln City, OR
Hes probably the only artist who could sing a George Strait song and not mess it up. Great job. Jon cant wait to see you in concert in June
"I think everybody's hero in country music"
I want that statement to be true. I really, really do.
Jon Pardi
- Great cover Jon!
Young man, you are playing stone cold country music, and for that you can be proud.
That's a gospel song in the world of country music!
Amen to that
That man wasn't fooling around, he nailed it down son.
Yeah jon is about the only mainstream country artist still playing actual country music
@@valeriephillips745 He is real like you
Love, love, love 💕 the way he sings this
Damn..this is cool. I like the story. My grandma had a whole case of tapes and a tape player too. That's how I first heard of Conway Twitty and George Jones. She had a lotta George Strait too.
Keith whitley! But I love you.
My dad's tape case in his old beat up Chevy Cheyenne is how I learned to love country too. Waylon,Willie,George Jones,Hank Jr.,David Allan Coe.
Wait a minute, I had a whole case of cassette tapes does that mean? What, wait, wtf am I... no, I'm not that old. I started off with 8 tracks and cassettes were the new thing, crap...I am old 💩 😳🔫, damn a water pistol, just my freaking luck.
@@gemineyeintuition6626 so that puts me in grandpa territory 😬
@@georgetweedyjr4701 ABSOLUTELY!! The late Great Keith Whitely sang this first. He was straight up Country, a Legend that died way too soon!! Peace to you!
I burn with desire each time my heart fans the fire
To that old flame that burns inside of me
She cried when I left her, now I cry to forget her
Oh, how foolish I was to ever want to leave
'Cause nobody in his right mind would've left her
I had to be crazy to say goodbye
Nobody in his right mind would've left her
Even my heart was smart enough to stay behind
I still carry her picture; I wish her well
With the new love I know she's found by now
Each night finds me dreamin', each day I spend thinkin'
How much I wish she was still around
'Cause nobody in his right mind would've left her
I had to be crazy to say goodbye
Nobody in his right mind would've left her
Even my heart was smart enough to stay behind
Even my heart was smart enough to stay behind
I love this more than anyone could know. When everyone left on the weekend to the town bar. Gramma would pull out the radio and I would dance on her feet. Sure wish i had her embrace just one more time. I need more than ever right now.

One of my favorite country songs of all time. This was amazing.
I have never heard a remake of a hit that sounded as good or better than the original. Congratulation Jon it's a first.
god bless you Jon, you're a good man.
Great job, Jon Pardi! Your mother would love it! I seen ya in Concert Live @Fort Gordon, Ga at the Independence Day celebration on the 3rd of July 2019 before this darned Corona came out and everybody was maskless and havin a good time!

Just saw John at the outpost in San Juan Capistrano a few days ago he's legit I originally saw him at the Temecula valley ballin and wine festival he's keeping it country from the start of his career till now great cover on this song Gona keep getting my Pardi on
This one hits close to home. My mamaw in the late 80s had a collection of George Strait and Alan Jackson tapes and I loved listening with her. This video brings a lot of memories. Thanks for doing this!
Your mema had great taste.

Yes , He is as close to real country as a guy can get . But wait til' Nashville gets ahold of him . I'm late here it already has , but from what I can tell he's keeping it as close to real country as the bean counters will let him ! Jon Pardi fan up here in the PNW
Great job on the cover, Jon. Keep up the good work on making real country music.
He does a great job you damn strait he does.real talk.
Knowing Keith Whitley sang this first then the man who I've known since my birth mr. Strait, now one of my adult life favorite singers. Things go full circle.
This man has an amazing voice!! He should be on the radio more.
This song is the story of my life right now.....

Hi robbie, how are you doing?
Thank You for saving country music Jon!!! Keep doing you buddy!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
He nailed this... love this guy
Finally, there are a few guys out there that acknowlege real country influences.
This isn"t this crap they call country today, this guy is real country. Maybe hes the last...??? What a treasure..
Harley134 not the last. But definitely amazing. Aarons Watson, Cody Johnson, a few others
To add on to that list (Cody Johnson is the best in my opinion at the moment) Randy Rogers Band, Jon Wolfe, Josh About, Casey Donahew, Chris Stapleton. Theres surely some you haven't heard and I recommend you spend some time on them.
Anthony Quintanilla yeah I heard those. Just didn't feel like listing them, lol. CoJo's really is the best. And wait Chris Stapleton did one?!?!
Oh no I'm sorry haha I was just naming country artist my fault
Yea dudes, Oh Jon Pardi can not put a lick on George. A lot of folks don't know George until his music pops up. I give Jon credit. In my 17 years of OTR truck driving I have listened to, & sang this song a million times & can not do much better. Nothing against Jon, but the heart, soul, & passion of the song is missing in this video. That is what George has that many folks can not seem to pull out from the inside. Bless your heart Jon your trying, keep at it, fall back on your roots...
Memories of granma and life. I like the share from his heart this is one of favorites it means a lot
Still loving this cover, can’t wait to see you at Floores Country Store for KJ Cares 2020! 🖤
I have similar cassette tape memories... my mom used to play George strait, brooks & Dunn, and restless heart cassettes in her 89 chevy Corsica with me in the backseat.
Sweet
