Returning back with this particular song....to me the Endlessness has a special spot in my heart for being the last song of the (so far...) album recorded with Marko. Like an inheritance. Haven't looked out yet but I'll try to look for your possible Wintersun reactions. Anyhow, I'd like to see a few 🙂
this song live (e.g. on their current tour just started in Finand- been to both, Helsinki and Tampere) rocks the hell ^^ Floor is doing all the growls and sharp sounds, too ^^ the song in general about religion in general... Abraham is the origin of Chritianity, Islam and Judaism- cut into 3... the statue is the greek god Pan...
This is a very compelling track to me, with the Middle Eastern theme, Kai's use of an augmented set of toms, Marco's lines "Suffering loves...", and Floor's non-lyrical vocals in the end. Lovely reaction, thank you.
Abraham cut into 3 - I interpret that as the three main religions of the world: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Just my interpretation but I'm sure there are numerous ways to interpret Tuomas' lyrics as in all his songs. It can be difficult to break down genius into easily understandable pieces.
The analysis you did was pretty comprehensive. Two details came to mind, first is that the goat horned statue head you mentioned is the Greek god Pan, the "god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, rustic music and impromptus, and companion of the nymphs." Second is that Abraham being cut into three is a simple reference to the three religions based on him: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
I love everything about this song and I really enjoyed your reaction. Thanx for preparing to get the best experience from this brilliant album! Endlessly looking forward to Endlessness!!!! Best wishes from Namibia
all your interpretation is spot on! this is more on human side of this album and the dark, dooms heavy feels of the song is there to show the aggressiveness of humanity, our dark side if you will. since this is the song solely focused on humans the whole song is aggressive and tribal! go back to procession or even greatest show on earth to see how when its time for humans the song turns aggressively metal! the whole point of the song is to mock humans as another, perhaps the most aggressive animal ever till now but we think of ourselves something noble! that's a guerilla/early human skull and it implies that we are nothing more than that but with guns and what we think is higher morality (here mainly religions). the stones are tombstones possibly victims of religious wars and the skeletons dancing is yet another mockery of us thinkin how we are right and we fight and kill for "noble" reasons but we are all dead in the end and nothing really matters in regards of us and our place in nature overall! and we still think being in a tribe or a group with others makes us special or something and we fight and even kill for it! and Abraham cut into three is I think a reference to the 3 abrahamic religions (judaism, christianity and islam) and again mocks them for how they are following the same prophet and leader and religion but they think theirs is better and have been fighting a pointless war for over 3500 years now over it! so yeah this song really is about how messed up we all are but we fail to see it and think we are better!
@@YBPlaysMusic "NWSU"...You know, Nightwish fan base is called "The Nightwish Army", and Me and my friends here in the little Estonia are small "unit" in the army . Therefore " Nightwish Shadow Unit".
good one YB .. enjoyed your explanations ... liked it .. the bones may be a reference to Ezekiel 37 .. monster may be a reference to monster mentioned in Procession ..
My interpretation of the lyrics is that it is a warning against people thoughtlessly following the words or preaching of leaders and our human desire to belong to an exclusive group. The lyrics are using the imagery of religion to help illustrate those universal dangers of group think.
In this Album is not the best Song. It is your opinion. Thats absolutley ok. But write it so. My favs are Shoemaker and All the works of Nature.......🤘
Thx David for the suggestion! I have seen I couple of her performances in BESTE ZANGERS, but not that one yet. Perhaps one I can react to in a future video! ;)
It was Marco Troy & Floor all three singing in the 2nd verse and other parts , now that Marco has left its Floor & Troy doing it. Abraham cut into 3 is Islam , Judaism & Christianity .
Indeed they are performing this song on tour and Floor and Troy are singing it. The grunts on the studio version are done by Floor, Troy and Marco. You can see a live version on yt performed at Helsinki Icehall on April 24th 2022.
Yes that’s the one, Pan the god of music among other thing I believe. So, probably an early worshipped god, since the song is about (abuse of) religion
Abraham cut into three. Cut is the important part here. All three Abrahamic religions consider him an important figure but went three different direction and unable to reconcile the differences.
Hi!
@@YBPlaysMusic ‘kiss the ring, praise and sing, he loves you dwelling in fear and sin ‘ sounds a lot like mocking certain power lusting bishops or something (not quite sure of the religion or their ‘ranks’ )

Stimme dir 100% zu. Das ist die Fortsetzung von Weak Fantasy.
Thx for the info, Frankamaria! Didn't know that about the statue! :D

Correct, for all three religions a Abraham is a progenitor
It definitely makes sense, thx for your take on it, John! :D

Few things....
I absolutely adore this song !
I am an atheist !
And Kai (drummer) added 5-6 extra drums to do this album !
Nuff Said !!!
NWSU 🤘💀🤘.
Thx for your take, Timo!
Perhaps a little bit of a stupid question but what do you mean by NWSU? NightWish ...? Thx :D

The only bad thing about Tribal is that it is too short
Good point haha!
Interesting album, different from the other music they have made. Interesting to hear your interpretation :-)
Definitely different indeed! Thx, glad you enjoyed it!
good one YB .. enjoyed your explanations ... liked it .. the bones may be a reference to Ezekiel 37 .. monster may be a reference to monster mentioned in Procession ..
Interesting! Thx, Dan! Glad you enjoyed it. :D What is the Ezekiel 37?
So for the intro, the scale definitely has a middle eastern vibe and I believe the instrument used is a hurdy gurdy

Hey Neighbor from the south.
Nice to see you reacting on their best album, and one of my heavy favorites. 🤘🏻

Yeah, when I listened to it again, I heard more voices indeed in that part! :D
🤗🍒👍🏻
In my opinon, Tribal is the second part of Weak Fantasy. Nightwish Problems with the three book Religiouns .
I see this being mentioned a couple of times already, so I think you're on to something here! :D
Are they currently performing this song on tour? If so, who is singing Marco's part?

The statue is of Pan i think.
Do you mean the head statue that I referred to from "Music"?
Yes that’s the one, Pan the god of music among other thing I believe. So, probably an early worshipped god, since the song is about (abuse of) religion
@@renskevanderhaagen5813 Yep ( and the God of tricks. He has two sides) I mean, Pan is a little bit like Loki
How fitting then that Pan also has horns, like Loki in his suit :p

Love Weak Fantasy as well, but I didn't know about the meaning that thoroughly, just knew it was also about something anti-religious?
