This episode always reminds me why Krillin is one of my favorite fighters. His love for his friends and family is so great. Even when he knows he doesn't stand a chance against someone, he still gives it everything he's got to give them even the smallest chance to escape. Just a random thought that I was reminded of in this episode. And poor Marron! I always hate to see when she gets turned into chocolate :(
Buu just turning everyone into chocolate and eating them is probably the darkest moment in all of DBZ, it’s so chilling and literally everyone was at Buu’s mercy, none of them could even mimic a fraction of his power, didn’t even last a solid minute against him, and just the screaming from them all when they’re turned into Hershey bars is like something straight out of a horror movie.
I'd put it very close to Cell sucking peoples life out of their bodies. Something about Recoome's spine breaking kick to Gohan on Namek was awful to me too, just Namek in general felt really gloomy. I think that one kick had to be the most disturbing impact in all of DB personally though. I guess I feel like the Buu saga is more fun and gag stuff overall so it's harder to see weird bubblegum thing turning people into candy as horribly as the other stuff, but I like the gag stuff
Majin Buu's antenna beam, sure seems reminiscent of that 1980's movie with the space clowns. These killer space clowns used ray guns, which turned people into Cotton Candy cocoons. The victims were all taken back to the Circus Tent space ship, simply to be stored away for later consumption.
@Eglantine Papeau Akira was always bad at keeping character heights consistent. Dende started this arc out near Gohan’s height but by the time we get to Kid Buu he is back down to Frieza Daga size. Like how in Super Vegeta is taller than Bulma and Goten and Trunks didn’t grow for like six years. Even though Trunks has caught up to the Future Trunks age in the History of Trunks. Looks like Superheroes they finally grew.
There are a couple points in all of dragonball where power seems to start warping the dimension around it. Gotenks here did it from powering up but we also see it in the Broly movies, new and old. It was so over the top in the new Broly that they had to break out of their own dimensional pocket caused by their own energy.
SHEEESH!!!!!!!!!!!! Another phenomenal reaction down!!!!! Seeing SSJ3 Gotenks again was so amazing and crisp to see again!!!! I'm so glad to be on this journey with you guys. Baris bro!! Thanks for showing Madison DBZ!!! She's gonna love the coming episodes especially the final episode!!!
i always figured that the boys power comes so easily is because of how easily goku and vegeta had control over the ascended saiyan transformation when they were born, they got the power from their daddies, Gohan being adept at it is a little different, he went through so much emotional trama when he was so young and was trained and trained until he snapped
During the Saiyan Saga Nappa and Vegeta had a conversation about "repopulating" a planet with human/Saiyan hybrids. Vegeta declined because he said they would be more powerful than them.
@@jsmithers. it happend when raditz died his scouter detected the power from gohan where he was a kid and becomes in rage so vegetas tought was that the saiyan human hybrids are maybe becoming more powerfull then a regular saiyan and in the end it was true. - just saiyan ✌🏼😂
Kai: So Goten is stronger than you ? Goku: Well... look at the time, we should eat ! Btw that shifting dimensions stuff when Goten powered up, that was exactly what Broly did when he transformed. I think that's just showing how strong the character is and he is on another level now. Also, I always thought the half blood saiyans are stronger because of the human side emotions. Saiyans are usually evil, zero emotions but if you combine that power that they gain from rage with human sadness and feelings, that might be great boost to their powers.
This is a major feat for powerscaling. Super Buu tearing appart space and time just with his scream. To think how many billions of times Goku is stronger in just his base is insane.
I'd say he's only thousands (edit: maybe only hundreds, even) of times stronger. And only NOW, not then. Base Goku is STILL _definitely_ not billions of times stronger than Super Buu.
I don't think so. Pretty sure Goku's base with god ki was retconned after the Frieza revival arc. His base has definitely improved since Buu saga and thru super but it's not the way u all think it's stronger than SSG from BOG
@@deckzone3000 He's WAY stronger than Super Buu now, just not in Base. I'm not sure how high he'd have to go, but he could easily destroy Super Buu in SSG or higher.
12:13 The worst part about it all is that because of what happened later, we basically find out that you're still very much sentient when you're transformed into food by Buu, so they had to endure getting eaten alive.
22:07 There was information that came out a good while ago that answers this question. Saiyans have cells produced by gentler traits that bring out their latent power, called S-Cells I believe, that weren't inherently in full blooded saiyans due to their warmonger culture. Think of it like oxytocin in humans - a positive aligned hormonal application to a social trait. Because pure-blooded saiyans were entrenched in a culture of war and cruelty for generations, the presence of a Super Saiyan was sheer myth for the longest time. However, as seen in Universe 6 Saiyans, even pure blooded saiyans could produce S-cells enough to make the transformation little more than a learned reflex. While I'm not too keen on this explanation, it does sort of line up with a lot of lore. As to why Gohan had a harder time reaching Super Saiyan than even his little brother, it may have to due with the nature of his hidden power being linked so heavily to violent anger outbursts, as we see when he first turns Super Saiyan 2 that he loses his gentle nature completely and becomes sadistic. This implies that his hidden power has a botched interaction with the S-cells his body produces, resulting in his later transformations being less traditionally super saiyan.
LMAO All that temper tantrum for candy! Super Buu losing his mind over candy always gets me. But this episode on a serious note, turned out to be one of the darkest moments throughout the series.
It always amazed me that Buu was surprised he opened a Portal when enraged. That gives you plenty of Info on how his Power rises when he mentally snaps. It can even go out of Control as you might have seen already later.
Gotenks used to piss me off but I've softened over the years and it makes sense he would be this way since he's basically a really really strong 7 and a half yr old. Even gogeta in the broly movie was slightly childish when talking about how "cool" it would be to have a good name lmao
That's why I still dont like him..I also blame Goku, stop putting the fate of earth in the hands of children..just being Uber strong isn't enough..one needs the mental maturity to think logically in regard to battle and tactics..just bc things worked out with Gohan as a kid doesnt guarantee the same outcome and we see it in this saga.
@@shootingreal5945 I do see where youre coming from. I guess the only excuse I could give Goku is that in his experience Gohan stepped the fu*k up when he needed to as a kid and for all he knew gohan was dead and vegeta was actually dead at the time, so it's only logical he would think the adolescent super sayains fused would be the best and really last hope humanity had left. Granted I'm sure if they really wanted to, they could have went to the future and asked trunks for help but I guess that thought never crossed toriyamas mind plus it would basically be a repeat of the cell saga at that point lol
@countenglad x Yeah but my point is he never should have let it get to that point..SSY3 Goku vs Fat buu remember..Goku seemed pretty sure he could have defeated fat buu so he could have ended this right then and there and after he went back to the other world the earth still have Vegeta,Gohan,Piccolo, and the boys would continue to get stronger so the earth still have strong protectors.
It was easier for the boys because they were born Super Saiyans because when Trunks and Goten were conceived they had already went Super Saiyan so the ability was passed on and clearly not for Gohan because he was born long before Super Saiyan was a thing. And Damn as im typing this Baris said the same thing. Put some respect on Gohans name. He had it the hardest.
The Super Saiyan 3 soundtrack is so epic to hear that it sometimes make me want to literally power up whenever i hear that music. The Super Saiyan transformations that takes years to acquire has indeed become a child's plaything just like how some martial arts children makes acquiring blackbelts/high skill levels in martial arts a child's plaything. However, i personally (both in fiction and in real life) would want to achieve high levels of whatever i do as quick as possible without much effort regardless of anyone who devotes their lives to training hard gets jealous. Majin Buu is hilarious.
19:35 I've always felt like those animation sequences are just a way to show the characters' level of power in that moment. Also, it could be to signify the beginning of a fierce battle.✌️
Two major fights before the final bout, those two are going to do it to me! I know she has watched the episodes by now but it will still be a fresh reaction for us!
4:48 now Madison will understand why Majin Buu is one of the strongest villains in the entire DB manga😍🔥 Terror of Majin Buu🔥 Big fan of this Character🔥
21:00How is it easy for Gohan. Gohan was literally fighting ever since he was a baby and not just stupid training he was fighting the battle of life and death for the sake of his friends he was pushed and even trained his whole life till 11 to protect the earth. He completely deserves what he had achieved
I think half Saiyans have huge power level potential. But less inclination towards fighting and less pride. Full Saiyans work hard towards that strength, take pride in themselves and love fighting and live for it. Somewhat similar to every generation compared to the previous one in most skills where the process to get to a higher place was difficult previously but got easier later on due to multiple reasons.
Toriyama always wanted to make the new generation stronger, but at some point (especially after the end of the manga, thus DBZ) he just let others take care of the scenarios and he had to give in because Goku and Vegeta were too popular.
@@xenotypos Have heard something like this. Mystic was a let down. Although a better ending mostly came out of all this. Wonder how Toriyama intended to end initially. Do you know?
@@josmatt87 Nobody can really know, except that Toriyama initially planned Gohan as the hero of the Buu saga. Interestingly, it's especially obvious when you watch the second opening of DBZ (We Gotta Power).
i think the word you're looking for when it comes to buu's power is probably "chaotic" that's why buu ends up being so insanely strong, he doesn't have any kind of restraint or any notion that he has or needs limits, on top of a childlike naivety where he doesn't take anything seriously
You know I felt like the buu arc was one of the weakest but you guys reminded me I was wrong. Forgot how epic all this is lol. Buu arc my favorite so far
I will say, what's coming up is the first bootleg dbz I ever saw in the 90s cause we were so far behind. The tapes I watched even had Japanese commercials including dragonball products. Like sunscreen. Not making that up at all
It's perhaps the weakest writing wise, but let's be honest... We don't really watch Dragon Ball due to writing, we watch it for the hype and the arc had plenty of it
I strongly disagree. One of the overarching themes of the Buu saga is the mystical. Frieza saga was a sci-fi all about space/aliens. Cell saga was also sci-fi, but about time travelers and killer cyborgs. Buu saga taps into the DB roots of the fantasy genre. Everything about it is mystic. The ancient evil monster of the universe, dead warriors getting to fight on earth, the Z sword, the fusions and new characters from them, and of course "mystic" Gohan. So I would say the SSJ3 transformation has very little to do with the biology or power levels involved and everything to do with who attains it and by what un-earthly means. Goku is the veteran hero who has been dead for 7 years and developed SSJ3 in the other world training with the greatest fighters that ever lived. It kind of "belongs" to him. The only reason Gotenks was able to reach it was because he is a fused character and has many unconventional/otherworldly abilities. I do not think Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks, or Goten will ever individually become become SSJ3 while they are still living. Although, I do think Gogeta and Vegito can. They're just so powerful that they have no need to.
Shoutout to Krillin, the real MVP of this episode. I love his character, even in a situation that he knows is hopeless, he'll still do whatever he can to help the people he cares about. RIP
Buu is a being of evil and magic. The group has never really fought beings like Dabura and Babadi, those that USE magic. Buu is someone made of magic, perhaps a being that is all evil magic. Gotenks is also a strange being fueled by imagination of the two strongest children. Their ki is basically being warped into magic, almost on par with the enemy they've been forced to adapt to, Buu.
I believe that it was confirmed that human/saiyan half breeds are innately stronger. And there was some explanation for it, but I don't recall what that was. As for Trunks and Goten being so strong, obviously that was necessary for story purposes. But if you want an in universe explanation, it could be that the transformation into a Super Saiyan fundamentally changes a Saiyan's DNA. So when Goku fathered Gohan, that had not yet occurred. Thus Gohan had to go through the same type of struggles that Goku did to reach Super Saiyan, but he still benefited from being a half breed and thus was able to reach that level at a VERY young age. But Goten and possibly Trunks were conceived after their fathers had achieved the Super Saiyan transformation, so that could account for them getting a huge leap forward in strength.
My opinion on the half Saiyan’s achieving super Saiyan so easily is that they seen it was possible so it was something to strive for. Like a high score on a video game when ppl see it’s possible it gives them the motivation to achieve it themselves. Vegeta achieved super Saiyan right after goku when he realized it was possible. Same with gotenks ss3 after witnessing goku do it.
I know this is old, but I don't think anyone answered you're question that you said to answer in the comments, so I will. That thing where Gotenks had that weird changing dimension looking wipe under him after he got super angry at Buu at the end of the episode, was not a thing that was happening in reality. it was a thing for us the people watching. It's exactly the same as when Goku went SSJ3, and the screen did a circle wipe to a black void, or when Gohan got angry after Cell smashed 16s head and it was a weird background that had a bird overlay on screen. None of that is actually happening. It's a artistic representation of something, in this case, the power Gotenks was outputting. Like it was mind boggling impossible to imagine, so they represented that with looking like he's breaking dimensions, because he's THAT powered up.
The way Buu is seen munching on them when Gotenks escapes is one of best memories I have a Buu from when I was a kid. He’s literally EATING THEM. But it doesn’t come off as such vile thing it’s weird.
The reason why Hybrid Saiyan's achieve SSJ easier is because they have more emotions from their human side and SSJ is a transformation achieved from emotions. Saiyan's aren't naturally emotinal and that is why Vegeta had such a hard time achieving the transformation compared to Goku. Goku hitting his head as a baby changed his entire personality and made him more compassionate towards others. It has nothing to do with training hard.
I'm speculating but I think the saiyan human hybrids can achieve a higher level of power quicker than a full blooded saiyan could achieve is because saiyans are a warrior race and their emotions are tapped into that spirit whereas being human you're exposed to wide range of emotions and therefore can achieve greater power as it requires one to feel every one of those emotions like Gohan showed us when raditz was hurting goku and then against cell.
As a kid When Buu turned everyone into chocolate and you hear them screamed I started crying as a kid, it’s cause this was the darkest chapter in DBZ, I mean you got a villian that’s not only indestructible but who’s power scale is stronger than either Frieza or Cell who can’t even come to a fraction of his power, maybe cell, but he won’t even get close, and plus they would be terrified of his craziness
Even if fans don't like how easy it is for other characters to pass a limit once Goku or Vegeta do, it is actually very realistic. A guy named Roger Bannister was the first person to run a four minute mile. It was considered impossible before he did. 46 days later the second person did. 3 more did over the next year. Now, thousands have done it. This is the coolest part about limit-breaking: it is predominantly psychological. Goten and Trunks are kids. To them, if one person can do it, there's no reason for them to think they can't. Conceive, believe, achieve.
14:22 that ssj3 music here in dub ruined all surprise for viewers They already expected by music it's coming 😑😒😂🤷 But in Japanese it was total surprise 😂
Someone asked the artist in an interview why the kids could transform easier. He said it has to do with the human red blood cells in their body fueling it. Probably crazy into too much detail but it was fun hearing that reasoning
Just to ease Madison's questions of the super saiyan forms. Since the form isn't technically dependent on the level of power but the emotional state of the saiyan, it makes more sense why prodigies like Gohan, Goten n Trunks get everything easier but the show makes it a point that they're still not on par or strong enough to match Goku or Vegeta. For example SSJ3 Gotenks can't beat Goku SSJ 3. the transformations are power multipliers not levels of power, as well as indicators of ur power's potential.
18:00 Garlic Saga may have been filler, but at least it showed the Z-Fighters stand on their own without the need of Goku and Super Saiyans. Earthlings tend to get left in the dust in DBZ and deserve a chance to be elevated to their level.
Idk if anyone anwered this, but the part where the color changes is a asthetic visual that toriyama used a lot to symbolize intense power from whoever is on screen. They did the same thing with Broly
From what I recall, and it's been a long time since I read/heard of this, so I don't remember from where I got this from, but the saiyans have S-cells, or in other words Saiyan Cells, these Cells are amplified when more emotion is triggered in a Saiyan, just like how Goku and Vegeta's Transformations were of full rage the first time. The thing with Half-Breed Saiyans is that unlike Full Blooded Saiyans, the Human side is more emotional by default. Notice that Goku and Vegeta usually/typically maintain 1 standard emotion the entire series (Goku being very joyous, and Vegeta being very serious/prideful) while they can have emotional fluctuations, it's not as intense as the Half-Breeds, and thus is why Gohan, Goten, and Trunks are able to tap into these powers at a much younger age. If you look at DB compared to Z, Goku as a kid didn't change much through it, while Goten, Trunks, and Gohan have had much more emotional bursts in Z. Of course this is just what I recall/remember, so I could be completely wrong, and again, it's Dragon Ball, logic hardly exists in this series most the time. XD
So heres the super saiyan explanation. When Gohan was born, goku hadnt "unlocked" the super saiyan gene. But Gohan had Goku to teach him how once he had done it, plus his natural "hidden power" that we've seen ever since he broke Raditz' armor with a headbutt. Future Trunks was concieved AFTER Future Vegeta reached Super Saiyan. But knowing the androids were coming helped Present Vegeta transform earlier, before concieving Trunks. Goten was obviously concieved post SS Goku. Present Goten and Trunks were born with unlocked SS genes.
When I was a kid that Gotenks transformation sequence was my favorite DBZ moment... I was shook lol. As for the Saiyan hybrid thing I read somewhere once that their potential is linked to how they are more in tune with their emotions than Goku or Vegeta. For example Goku transformed when his rage passed his boiling point and Vegeta reached his frustration limit. Gohan wanted to stop letting everyone down and in the extreme enough situation broke his limits... and "willed" himself to transform and the same with Future Gohan and his rage at the androids for all the senseless killing of his friends. Trunks original transformation is not known but he must just be a prodigy, since he could already do it. (Yes even future trunks, the movie transformation was awesome but in the manga he was already a Super Saiyan). Goten is easy, Goku was a Super Sayian when he was conceived, it was during the 10- day days of rest before the cell games. But either way I'm pretty sure it just had to do with controlling their emotions at the right time.
After Z is over, you should definitely show her GT. Many people hates it, however, I personally felt, it portrayed Goku correctly. Strong, battle hardened, matured and enjoys killing someone who deserves to be killed. It portrayed true "beastly" saiyan nature. Also, you get to see the next level. 😉 Whereas, in super, he's just after fighting the strongest person.
The power scaling is becoming pretty ridiculous at this point. I don’t really know what to think of Gotenks turning SSJ3 as easily as that when Goku trained and struggled so hard to achieve that form.
22:18 that's exactly how I always saw it. I mean it makes the most sense, by time Goku and Vegeta had Goten and Trunks they both had achieved SSJ so the boys were able to inherit majority of that power.
Using statements from Toriyama and a little conjecture, there is actually a reasonable explanation to why Goten and Trunks can achieve Super Saiyan relatively easily. Toriyama introduced the concept of S-Cells, which are essential to the Super Saiyan transformation. The more gentler the spirit and the more battle power of the Saiyan, the more S-Cells that particular Saiyan has. A lot of the fanbase has gripes with the S-Cell system because "it doesn't fit saiyans, they should be bloodthristy warriors" but I'd argue it does explain some things. It would definitely explain why saiyans lost their ability to transform into SS when they started reeking havoc under the tyrannical frieza , so much so that it became a legend. And since SS arises from an extreme emotional shock of rage/sadness it would make sense that the race that adapted that trait would be more kind-hearted, meaning they would be more attached to their loved ones, therefore the loss of any attachments can send them into the aforementioned rage. (Small DBS Spoiler) It would also explain why U6 saiyans get the ability to transform easily (although I still am not sure of the way that Caulifa transformed). Also it is possible that S-Cells may be passed down to offspring, which would mean that Goku (and possibly Vegeta) passed down their S-Cell count to Goten/Trunks after having the ability to transform himself, which would explain why it was harder for Gohan then Goten.
It’s weird how different Marin getting turned into chocolate hits me different now that I’m a father. And how amazing it is for Krillin to protect his family even though he knows he can’t win.
At the time of this episodes it wasnt explained why Gohan and then Gotenks were stronger than their parents, but actually years later Akira Toriyama confirmed that the Sayan+Human genes instead of decreasing the potential of the Sayan Genes they are enhanced and makes the potential higher than a pure Sayan Blood offspring, the thing is that they have to train under specific circumstances, Gohan was born in the Sayan Crisis, then Trained further in the Freezer saga and his hidden potential (the human side) was unlocked, then it came to the Androids and Cell Saga, so Gohan basically trained nonstop since the Sayan Saga, then in the Majin Buu saga he was nerfed because he stopped training but as soon he trained and enhances the power he should have had thanks to the elder kingkai he got stronger again, but if Gohan didnt had stopped his training after the Cell Saga he probably would have being as strong as his mystic form, because when he stops the training the potential gets locked again, and he needs help or have to train harder to achieve new power, but the power boost he got since training gets weaker but not as weak since he was able to transform to ssj2 when fighting Dabura but just a bit weaker than when he fought Cell. The same with the Kids, the potential got doubled when they fused so based on the logic I just explained and thanks to Goku that showed them how strong a Sayan could get Gotenks manage to get to that point pretty faster even than Gohan because is a fusion of two hidden potentials. Its confusing but based on what Akira Toriyama explained it makes sense.
You guys should really hop into TFS's Abridged series before going any further. It stops at the end of the Cell saga and there are only 63 episodes... it is WAY tooo funny for you guys to pass up. Plus BOTH of you will be reacting to it for the first time.. c'mon! Time for a double reaction..
Krillin might've been one of the weaker fighters especially compared to even 18 but he knew Marin needed to be with her mom. He's always been really balsy, I'll never forget when Frieza impaled him and he still went for the kick to his head knowing that, at least what he thought then, he was done for and probably can't get wished back.
It might seem op for them but you have to remember that Gotenks is a fused character. They are inherently massively powerful even in base form. I think even Gotenks himself in the manga implied that he was at least SSJ2 Majin Vegeta level at base, though Gotenks is cocky and could have exaggerated that. Goku and Piccolo stated that as just a regular super saiyan, Gotenks could beat fat buu easily. Then you also have to add the week of training in the hyperbolic time chamber they got where Trunks said they had at least doubled their power.
So... from what I understand the half human/ half sayains have an advantage over the pureblood sayains because of the human emotion of anger and rage is more effective than a pureblood sayain. Also, apparently the strength of the Sayain during conception will also effect the strength of the baby concieved.. hence why Goten and Trunks are stronger than Gohan. (Possibly even if Gohan would have kept up his training as well)
The reason half saiyans can reach that level of power easier is because they have more S cells than pure blooded saiyans thus making them naturally more powerful. S cells determine how easy it is to turn super and such if I’m not mistaken. Hybrids are a whole different breed!!😂😂
There's another surprising thing that was pointed out when Goku was SSJ3. Gokenks isn't affected by the draining effect of SSJ3s power because unlike only Goku being himself and regulating his own power, the fusion drains time instead and it was mentioned for a brief moment in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber when Trunks and Goten were chatting.
Gohan, Goten & Trunks are all half Saiyans and Goku & Vegeta are full saiyans, half Saiyans like Gohan, Goten & Trunks had more potential to be stronger than their dads and that’s why Goku & Vegeta train 24/7 because they know that Gohan, Goten & Trunks can surpass them in any way if their not careful, so for them to transform into Super Saiyan was definitely a lot easier for them to achieve Super Saiyan but Gohan was still having a tough time at first but he did get it at a very young age, Gohan was 10 or 11 years old when he first transform into Super Saiyan, Goku was 25 years old, Vegeta was somewhat 33 or 34 years old when he transformed.
bruce faulconer only made about 5% of the music all these songs were made by others that work at faulconer studios but Bruce got credit for all of it. But this is one of those episodes you gotta watch in Japanese, not just for the music but the dialog between gotenks and piccolo is hilarious
When SS3 Gotenks rages in power I think he rips thru space and time like when Broly does once reach a certain power level and I think Goten and Trunks can achieve Super saiyan faster and SS3 faster is cause they had a demonstration and seen they can go beyond their limits plus training, Goku and Vegeta had to work way harder cause they never knew how far they can really go. Dope reaction episode! Can’t wait for the next ones 👍
About why the half saiyan hybrids tend to be more inclined to reach higher levels faster and more easily does have to do with genetics and it's explained through the S-Cells in them. There are several official and unofficial articles explaining the logic behind it actually :)
I think ur correct about that Baris. It's what they call S cells if I remember correctly. It's the reason Goku & Vegeta were able to far surpass their fathers who spent their entire lives in fierce battles. On top of that the human-saiyan hybrid thing. I think as a Super Saiyan 3, if Goku had a 3rd child with Chi-Chi, they'd unlock super saiyan 3 in a day and likely reach SSJ4 or SSB by their teen years.
The saiyan potential has always been maximized by emotion (Krillin’s death), the reason the hybrids are stronger is because they have humanity. They feel love easier than saiyans do and so when traumatic experiences happen to them they are able to draw on that saiyan boost off of emotion on a way higher scale. It breaks down the point of the show beautifully which is the message being have empathy in life, it makes you stronger.
The reason it was easier for the kids to get to super saiyan and beyond is because it takes a righteous heart and love to continue to evolve to new levels and as the saiyans blood has been diluted with humans for several years now. The boys' hearts are more pure due to the extra human emotions in them. We saw this with gohan as well when he was so powerful because he was half human. That gave him more rightousness and love. Though this is debatable when we learn new super saiyan evolution techniques in super.
Personally to me from my experience of how powerful SS3 Gotenks is and just how powerful SS3 is in general, Gotenks raised his power level to change the reality around him. He manipulated space a bit there with his SS3 within that area just for a bit. That’s showcasing how extremely powerful SS3 is compared to SS1 and SS2 within this arc since SS3 is 8x stronger than SS1 and 4x stronger than SS2 and SS2 alone is pretty powerful reaching power levels of over 8 billion easily so you can already tell what SS3 will look like when SS2 is multiplied by 4x. Also SS3 Gotenks is stronger than Goku SS3 since it’s a fusion SS3 and usually fusion is way more powerful for a saiyan than a saiyan that isn’t fused. That’s why later in the future if you get to the point of continuing to watch this anime and you get to the Broly Movie you’ll see what I mean. But no spoilers there until the episode drops I will then further explain what I mean on that reaction video.
I'm certain someone said it already, but i believe the half saiyans have more potential due to their human emotions. It allows them to push themselves emotionally and transform.
They do have more potential, but emotions don't have anything to do with it
Рік тому+1
That dimension shift thing is pretty common nowadays (In Super and the Broly movie for example). It is something like reaching the level of power that the fabric of the dimensions are trembling.
19:25 these were shifts into the dimension, they were shaking and changing the whole reality with their aura alone, that alone proves that ss3 Gotenks was FAR stronger than Goku in this form These dimensional shifts were something we only saw when Broly transformed or powered up in his LSSJ form Gotenks could've killed Bu anytime he wanted to
I feel like Yamcha could've done something courageous instead of just running away. Krillin did! He could've pushed #18 & Maron away or jump in to help Krillin. Or better yet, sacrifice himself for Bulma. But nah! He got 1-up by Krillin so hard 😅. Krillin went out like a real man 💯
This is the part of the story where the characters get strong enough to effect dimensions. As for the hybrid thing. Yes, Saiyan hybrids are supposed to be stronger than full blooded Saiyans. And the reason for how Goten and Trunks were able to reach Super Saiyan so easily. Is because they have a high number of S-Cells in their bodies. At least that is what the creator said anyway.
I think you guys hit the nail on the head with regards to how goten and trunks obtained super sayin so easy. Goku and Vegeta were already super sayin when the boys were conceived , meaning that they would've passed down the super sayin "gene" to their kids, where as goku, vegeta, and gohan had to go through emotional episodes to unlock that level. As far as gotenks obtaining SS3 "easy", his power level is the combination of goten and trunks added together AND multiplied significantly. But gotenks also had a few months to train in the time chamber before fighting but, which shot his power up even more.
what i love about this episode is that akira toriyama (mangaka of dragonball) completley forgot about super saiyan 2, so he thought the next level for gotenks to achieve after super saiyan is super saiyan 3^^ (at an interview he stated that he needed so re-read his own manga to get the info´s lol xD) still awesome - otherwise we would never have seen super saiyan 3 gotenks =)
So, lets see. Buu Escapes, Eats everyone. The boys and Piccolo said "they've been yelling for hours" - So they have been yelling for 6 hours? And Buu Turned everyone into Chocolate and ate them in 1 minute time? Isn't that how the time chamber works..
I wouldn't say Gohan became a SSJ or SSJ2 easily. He was the last to become SSJ and really had to struggle for SSJ2. As for Goten, a lot of people accept that he had it as his father was a SSJ when he was conceived and was naturally a SSJ. Trunks probably learned it from him. Goku was the first SSJ3 and no one even knew it was possible. He showed the kids the form and they can only achieve it while fused. I'd say its similar to Kamehameha. Roshi spent 50 years to develop it, then the rest of the cast learned it because they observed him performing it.
My way of coping with the easy transformations is evolution. vegeta and goku had to work there asses off, but there kids are thrown into battles way beyond what they went through at there age. the kids have there DNA as well as them as examples to go off of so they progress faster physically and mentally if that makes sense? I still think they achieved them to easy but it didn’t not make sense to me, IF that makes sense. 🤣🤣
This is why I feel Goten and Trunks have sooo much potential. I feel even more than Gohan. I would love to see those 2 grow and see how far they can go as adults in Dragon Ball Super.
I always hate to see when she gets turned into chocolate :(
@Brandon Rose sadly Yamcha used to be like that too. But they really ruined his character.
@@butt5ful True facts man haha; completely gave up fighting altogether

Buu just turning everyone into chocolate and eating them is probably the darkest moment in all of DBZ, it’s so chilling and literally everyone was at Buu’s mercy, none of them could even mimic a fraction of his power, didn’t even last a solid minute against him, and just the screaming from them all when they’re turned into Hershey bars is like something straight out of a horror movie.
@@jsmithers. I always thought it looked like Hershey bars, plus it’s my favorite.
I dunno man, Cell drinks people into empty skin puddles
@@kitkat6959"Bitch I drink people!"

@@butt5ful omg you're right , after all these years i only realize this now 😂 what's up with that ?
@Eglantine Papeau Akira was always bad at keeping character heights consistent. Dende started this arc out near Gohan’s height but by the time we get to Kid Buu he is back down to Frieza Daga size. Like how in Super Vegeta is taller than Bulma and Goten and Trunks didn’t grow for like six years. Even though Trunks has caught up to the Future Trunks age in the History of Trunks. Looks like Superheroes they finally grew.
@@butt5ful wow true 😮
This saga is truly creatively more imaginative than the other saga’s, Not as epic but more unpredictable.
There are a couple points in all of dragonball where power seems to start warping the dimension around it. Gotenks here did it from powering up but we also see it in the Broly movies, new and old. It was so over the top in the new Broly that they had to break out of their own dimensional pocket caused by their own energy.

Out of all the DBZ villains Imperfect Cell and Super Buu are the scariest by far. Their evil has such a sinister and creepy aesthetic to them.
To me Imperfect cell is the grossest . I I can think about is that tail of his and that gurling sound when he swallows his victims 🤢
One of the things about Imperfect Cell was his sneakyness and cunning behavior.
"Imagine if Goku and Vegeta ever did that" BRROOOOOOOOOOO how did you keep a straight face?

i always figured that the boys power comes so easily is because of how easily goku and vegeta had control over the ascended saiyan transformation when they were born, they got the power from their daddies, Gohan being adept at it is a little different, he went through so much emotional trama when he was so young and was trained and trained until he snapped
Trunks was conceived right around the time Vegeta became a Super Saiyan.

Anger is an emotion.
Saiyans weren't emotionless or evil.
Goku's base can never get close to Super Buu's power. It's highly unlikely he'd ever surpass Super Buu, even as a SSJ3.
@@deckzone3000 He's WAY stronger than Super Buu now, just not in Base. I'm not sure how high he'd have to go, but he could easily destroy Super Buu in SSG or higher.
@@RazorStormInc No such thing as SSG. You're thinking of a different anime.

There was information that came out a good while ago that answers this question.
I assumed that was from Goku's half. :D
@@shootingreal5945 - yeah, I'm a Vegeta/Piccolo fan; you're preaching to the choir here. :)

In canon earthling DNA amplified saipan DNA at a young age.
@@josmatt87 Nobody can really know, except that Toriyama initially planned Gohan as the hero of the Buu saga. Interestingly, it's especially obvious when you watch the second opening of DBZ (We Gotta Power).
i think the word you're looking for when it comes to buu's power is probably "chaotic"
that's why buu ends up being so insanely strong, he doesn't have any kind of restraint or any notion that he has or needs limits, on top of a childlike naivety where he doesn't take anything seriously
You know I felt like the buu arc was one of the weakest but you guys reminded me I was wrong. Forgot how epic all this is lol. Buu arc my favorite so far
I don't think it's the weakest, just the more overextended. It's still fun to watch.
Remember buu killed everyone
......
Tension this arc was insane
I will say, what's coming up is the first bootleg dbz I ever saw in the 90s cause we were so far behind. The tapes I watched even had Japanese commercials including dragonball products. Like sunscreen. Not making that up at all
The buu arc give us 2 types of fusion super ssj3 and goku and vegeta team up. To me this arc was better then the cell arc.
It's perhaps the weakest writing wise, but let's be honest... We don't really watch Dragon Ball due to writing, we watch it for the hype and the arc had plenty of it
Had they trained for full two years in there, they probably could have reached SSJ3 individually. They were only in there for about a week.
1:26 bro I'm dead 💀 Buu really wants his sugar rush
I swear when he transformed Krilin into chocolate I cried. He wanted to protect his family 😞
ps: by the way 22:49 amazing straight face there 😂
poker face level unmatched
Those thumbnail faces are everything 😅
can't wait for this reaction ❤
14:22 that ssj3 music here in dub ruined all surprise for viewers
They already expected by music it's coming 😑😒😂🤷
But in Japanese it was total surprise 😂
Someone asked the artist in an interview why the kids could transform easier. He said it has to do with the human red blood cells in their body fueling it. Probably crazy into too much detail but it was fun hearing that reasoning
Great reaction, I’ve watched several of your videos and liked the reaction to every single one of them so you two got yourselves a new subscriber 🤙🏽
Super Saiyan 3 now comes with a Mirror. 😅
Whereas, in super, he's just after fighting the strongest person.
TRUST ME, SHES GOING TO LOVE THIS
The power scaling is becoming pretty ridiculous at this point. I don’t really know what to think of Gotenks turning SSJ3 as easily as that when Goku trained and struggled so hard to achieve that form.
Damn, 18 was such a fierce character that gave Vegeta a hell of a beating and now she goes out like a simple human.
After the Buu arc, what’s next for this channel? DB, DBS? Maybe TFS for the laughs? Curious to see what you decide to do next!
I hope dbs
19:28, his power was distorting reality
Luckily, articles aren't canon, so we can ignore them.
@@deckzone3000 yes you can, but when it's straight up from toriyama and official articles, they ARE canon.
@@RuiMSilva Only the manga is canon.
1:29 Buu pouts when he can't eat chocolate 😁
That aura at the end of his power, basically these characters are so powerful their aura from powering up alters the time an space around them
I'm certain someone said it already, but i believe the half saiyans have more potential due to their human emotions. It allows them to push themselves emotionally and transform.
They do have more potential, but emotions don't have anything to do with it
That dimension shift thing is pretty common nowadays (In Super and the Broly movie for example). It is something like reaching the level of power that the fabric of the dimensions are trembling.
Facts bro facts!!big trembling !!!
14:55 damn.. chills all over my body 😬👍😄
19:25 these were shifts into the dimension, they were shaking and changing the whole reality with their aura alone, that alone proves that ss3 Gotenks was FAR stronger than Goku in this form
These dimensional shifts were something we only saw when Broly transformed or powered up in his LSSJ form
Gotenks could've killed Bu anytime he wanted to
I feel like Yamcha could've done something courageous instead of just running away. Krillin did! He could've pushed #18 & Maron away or jump in to help Krillin. Or better yet, sacrifice himself for Bulma. But nah! He got 1-up by Krillin so hard 😅. Krillin went out like a real man 💯
How’s she reacts to this is way more surprising. A Child Super Saiyan 3! 😃
15:15 I watch this power-up scene almost every day for some reason but watching it with both your reactions is totally Epic to me! ❤
22:49 i am completely out of words lmao
I think you guys hit the nail on the head with regards to how goten and trunks obtained super sayin so easy. Goku and Vegeta were already super sayin when the boys were conceived , meaning that they would've passed down the super sayin "gene" to their kids, where as goku, vegeta, and gohan had to go through emotional episodes to unlock that level.
As far as gotenks obtaining SS3 "easy", his power level is the combination of goten and trunks added together AND multiplied significantly. But gotenks also had a few months to train in the time chamber before fighting but, which shot his power up even more.
what i love about this episode is that akira toriyama (mangaka of dragonball) completley forgot about super saiyan 2, so he thought the next level for gotenks to achieve after super saiyan is super saiyan 3^^
(at an interview he stated that he needed so re-read his own manga to get the info´s lol xD) still awesome - otherwise we would never have seen super saiyan 3 gotenks =)
He also considered having ss3 regrow the tail
15:00 I haven't seen an epic reaction since the reaction to Trunks' mother being revealed to be Bulma :D :D :D :D :D
22:50 How did you manage to keep a straight face dude, you are really something.
"what kind of Kid are you? You idiot!" almost as Funny as when Piccolo told second Form Frieza to "shut the Hell up"
So, lets see.
How Gotenks and Piccolo argue is so funny 😂 Piccolo would rather had Gohan instead. He never sign up for this LOL!
Its just with broly you watched guys dimension change legendary move😂
