When Goku said "they can't even die" he was talking about Goten, Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo because they're actively integrated into his being. Everyone else Buu killed/ate do die in the traditional sense.
But he ended the sentence with "even Bulma". Could have been to get Vegeta on side but more likely he just didn't know any better about whether they'd die or not

If he wanted to, Vegito definitely could go SSJ3. If Gotenks, a fusion of two characters that could only reach SSJ1 individually, could do it; then Vegito could do. He just never needed to go beyond the first level.

When they do the fusion dance in the Fusion Reborn Movie & in GT, Goku is the one in control. Kinda wasn’t fair asking Madison what she thinks the name would be considering neither their names ends with an “o”. In Japanese, Kakarot is spelled as Kakarotto and they are combining their Saiyan names. Vege-ta + Kakaro-tto = Vegetto. In recent years,in the Dragonball Super manga Vegito’s name is now changed to Vegerot to make more sense of the translation.
It's funny Madison forgot when Vegito was in base that he could still go Super Saiyan. I love this battle and think it's #2 in the buu saga. Goku and Vegeta's fight is #1 to me.
As for the not being able to die, if Buu eats/absorbs you, I think he has the choice as to whether to use your power or disregard your essence. And if he disregards it, you are just thrown into the waste and are dead wheras the ones who were alive inside Buu are in cacoons

Sometimes the change in dialogue is actually made better. In this case yes it does confuse things but it does make Bulma and the others situation sound worse when Goku said "they can't even die"
So, for the afterlife thing. Goku said they were a part of Buu, and couldn't die. That was his assumption, like when Buu absorbs someone. It doesn't work the same way, but he assumed that. And on keeping their bodies, they actually don't have their bodies they're spirits (notice the wispy tails they all have) us being able to recognize them, and not just looking like white spirit wisps is for us the audience I think
Now explain the scene where Goku & Vegeta are fighting Kid Buu & all the previous villains (including Frieza, Cell & even Babadi) are watching through a big ass crystal ball down in Hell, with all their physical bodies intact. Aside from just "Filler".

The segment in heaven with Chi Chi and the Earthlings was filler. The idea is people absorbed by Buu can't die, but the people turned into food can. Chi Chi wasnt even eaten if I remember correctly, just turned into an egg and stepped on 💀. They also don't technically have "bodies", hence the ghost tails. It's just a caricature/artistic choice so you can tell them apart.
In the Japanese Manga, when Vegito says, “What do you call a fusion between Vegeta & Goku, Vegito sounds alright, makes sense because Vegeta + Kakarotto = Vegito. Vegito has a lot of lines and quotes that I love so much, but Vegito is stronger than Gogeta, Gogeta has 30 minutes to finish the fight, but Vegito has more stamina and endurance than Gogeta, but the time limit can decrease for both of them if they use too much power too soon.

@@KorruptedFlame We already know it can. Gotenks' fusion time got shortened from using SSJ 3 so Gogeta would also have the same issues since they're both Metamoran fusions. As for power, Elder Kai says Potara fusion is better and there were several official guidebooks that straight up say Potara fusion is more powerful than Metamoran fusion. Whether those statements still apply currently is up for debate but it's definitely not out of nowhere.

Vegito is such great character for the simple fact that he loves being alive. You can see throughout this episode he’s loving every second of it, where as Goku and Vegeta as individuals hate the idea of fusing. It’s why Vegito screams “alright” as soon as he makes his return in the black arc.

This is what I was thinking. Turning into food and eating them kills them vs absorption where they're still alive. But when Ultimate Gohan first arrived and Buu told him he ate Videl etc, Gohan got angry but then says "wait, I can still feel something" and smiles. That suggests to me that he could still faintly sense Videl etc which contradicts the theory, as he wouldn't be able to sense them if they were dead.

when buu turns people to candy or food and eats them, their bodies are physically destroyed and they die. What buu did too piccolo, gohan, and gotenks is different, he absorbed them into himself, but they are still existing inside buu. Chichi bulma and videl technically didnt have their body, but they are portrayed with all their clothes and looks for the audience to be able to tell its them. Usually when we see spirits in other world they are just white ghost lookin things

1:34 in the Japanese dub and manga Vegito told he is the combo of Kakarotto ( Kakarot in Japanese) and Bejita( Vegeta) as Bejito or Vegetto( Vegito) but in the eng dub they referred Kakarot as Goku

Maybe he killed the other ones, but he absorbed Gotenks, piccolo and gohan. Which would explain why we see the others in heaven but not the rest of who boo absorbed. But yeah Goku did say that they can't even die, when they clearly seem dead. I don't think they paid too much attention to those details or maybe it's the English dub translation from Japanese that's horrible. Funimation is known for changing the original script, it could have been Viz Media at the time, but who knows. I think at that point in time, in the buu arc, Funimation were the owners.
All of them died cause buu eat people alive, how can people will survive after getting eaten yes he makes them candies, chocolate, etc but they are getting destroyed. Just like when dabura make stone of krillin and piccolo they didn't die they were unconscious but still alive, they will die if the body is destroyed, same thing goes with the people buu turning people in snacks. Also remember that Dabura was inside yama check point ( other World) which means he dead after getting eaten by buu, cause buu didn't wanted to absorb his power. A LOT of the inconsistencies can easily be explained by this statement: The writers simply forgot. It's actually on record that Akira Toryama - the creator - actually forgot that Saiyans have tails.
I think with Potara fusion the more dominant personality comes through, but with a fusion dance the personalities are equal (possibly due to needing to be equal power level when fusing). I could be wrong with that assessment, there may be info I’m unaware of in a manga I haven’t read, but that’s my thoughts on why it seems Vegita comes through more in Vegito.

The "heaven" scene was filler, and when buu turned them in chocolate they actually died, what Goku said was miss translation since in japanese Goku said "vegeta!! buu kill our Friends Even Bulmaaaa! He ate them!!" and he absorbed Gohan trunks and Goten" never mentions that they can't die xd basically all of the people buu ate were dead, only Gohan Goten trunks and piccolo were absorbed

It's not a plot hole, its a misconception on Gokus part. Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Piccalo can not die because they are part of Buu. The people who were turned to food and eaten where not absorbed into Buu they were simply eaten. So they died. Because they died, they went to heaven because they were good people, its not their bodies, just their spiritual forms looking like they looked while in life. Hence, the weird ghost tails, as for Debora, he was evil yes, he is supposed to be evil, and because he is evil he should have been sent to Hell, however he would have loved Hell, so instead he was sent to heaven as a punishment, however because one cannot enter heaven until all your evil is basically washed from you, we get an overly good Debora forever stuck in heaven never to know the joys of evil again.
@rishyasirungen9211 fat buu is a special case, ultimately I believe it's up to buu. Once there in his body they get digested like Goku and Vegita nearly did. However since buu has complete control over his body, inside and out, I would assume if the person is overly strong he absorbs them encasing them in his body and tapping into there strengths. Kind of like pod people. He's connected to them almost like the borg collective in startrek where once you are connected your part of the collective
Bulma, Chi Chi and Videl didn't really have their bodies back though. If you look at the bottom halves, they have little ghost "tails" I have seen that it was an artist choice to have their "bodies" on their spirit for the viewers ease rather than have 4 faceless blobs with their voices coming from them. Also with him eating Buu and taking his powers but not others, it could be that its a conscious process. DB is full of inconsistences lol If I remember correctly, Dabura was with them because Yemma said that Hell wouldn't be a punishment for him as much as a way to get back home. So he was sent to Heaven instead.

I think Goku telling Vegeta "they can't even die" was just what he genuinely believed but was mistaken. Anyone absorbed whole by Buu is still alive inside him and feeding him their thoughts and abilities but anyone transformed into something like chocolate and then eaten all die in the usual way.
Long post. 9:31 Yes, that was plot hole created by the English staff by saying that they were stuck inside Buu in an attempt to soften the blow of them being eaten for the young English audience. This is not true and you're seeing them in heaven in this scene. The English staff at that time was no stranger to rewriting parts of the show without doing proper research to see if it would cause plot issues. Others include Raditz stating Planet Vegeta was destroyed when Goku was 21, Dr. Gero suddenly being the creator of the Red Ribbon Army, Nail being self aware in Piccolo's body, Nappa and Gohan being a part of Cell's design, Videl's last name being Satan (Satan isn't a family name. It's a title given to Mr. Satan for being the top student of the Satan dojo. He uses it as his stage name. Hercule is a name used for censorship purposes and his real name is Mark), Shin stating their were 5 Grand Kai's, Bulma and Trunks' last name listed as Briefs (Bulma's family does not have a surname. Brief is the name of her father), removing Vegeta's Big Bang Attack, Cell being able to regenerate from a single part of himself (what he regenerated from was his nucleus. Imagine our shock when he mentioned that in Budokai on the PS2 and we didn't know which version to believe), Cell regenerating into his perfect form from his cells storing it away (he came back in his perfect form because of he's part saiyan and got a massive power increase from regenerating from such a near death experience), changing Galactic Donuts to cosmic halo, and others I'm sure I can't think of at this moment.
Yes the part with Dabura is filler. King Yemma telling Goku that he sent Dabura to heaven, was the last time he was mentioned in the manga. And yes Goku saying that their friends couldn't die because they were part of Majin Buu was kind of a plot hole. But come on it's Goku, what does he know. I think he just said that to hit a nerve with Vegeta.
No, being "Absorbed" and eaten are 2 different things. Absorbed means still alive, fused into Buu body & him having access to their power, abilities & memories. People who are eaten actually die, the exception to this being when Bad/Evil Buu eating Fat Buu, but actually Absorbed him, that's the only inconsistency/plothole.
Maybe Goku was just caught up in the moment it was emotional the people that came down right now it is Goten and trunks and piccolo as well as Majin Buu

This is it, it's finally here...the EPIC fight of insane proportion!! I'm so hyped I've got nothing to comment on other than screaming like hell cheering for this fight!! Since you already know and watched the fusion reborn movie, I loved both Fusion types for Goku and Vegeta, both have their own unique advantages, esthetics(appearance), powers and skill set, even personality and characteristics. But suffice to say that what Gogeta can do Vegito can do too, since both came from the same fusee. Only difference is that, one is a technique invented by the metamorans and the other is a divine earrings(maybe artefacts?) made for the Supreme Kais or/and other deities in general maybe?
The honest explanation for bulma and co is that those scenes are all anime-only scenes created by toei. They really dont make much sense, but thats just sort of how it goes with Toei filler stuff.

DRAGON BALL AFTERLIFE EXPLAINED Yes, the scene where Bulma, Chi Chi, Videl, and Dabura are wondering around in heaven is filler that only appears in the anime. According to official lore the only people who are awarded a body in the afterlife are certain pure hearted fighters who'd lived a selfless life. Originally, anyone who was impure (such as the evil people and the antagonist of the series) had their spirits cleansed, their memories erased, and were reincarnated (reborn) to live another life - this is how Janemba is born in the "Fusion Reborn" movie when the spirit cleansing machine was overwhelmed and erupted due to Buu's mayhem on earth (by the way, if you watch this one definitely watch with the Japanese BGM or Subbed). More recently, Akira Toriyama changed this to where certain impure fighters would also be allowed to keep their bodies but instead of being given freedom to travel they'd be trapped and tortured in pods for eternity, as seen in the "Resurrection F" movie.

Do people that watch the show not natively speak English? And then advocate for a version of the show that has them talking in ways that no native speaker would ever talk, while trying to sell the show to native speakers? That's akin to trying to sell an originally American show in Japan, first dubbing it in a way that makes sense with Japanese sentence structure... And then a second time dubbing it in a way where it sounds like an American after getting to the second course of the Rosetta Stone, and trying to sell that to them as being the better version because they don't use honorifics the second time around, since Americans don't do that... Or saying "I'll take the rice bowl, please." instead of a native more accurately saying "Please, a Rice bowl I'll have. Thank you" Which sounds busted af in English, but is the rough order of words you'd use when being "accurate." thus resulting in it not making any sense in the market they are selling to. Also, literally none of the base Vegito stuff happened. It's filler. Anime only stuff. So the whole standing in place thing, all of that.
To explain the "can't die" thing, it can be read 1 of 2 ways a) Goku thought Buu eating them meant Bulma and the others couldn't die b) Goku meant to specify that the people Buu absorbed couldn't die and it's a lack of clarity in the translation that gave the perception that he was talking about everyone eaten too. Also yes, the afterlife sections are largely filler. Fun filler, but filler. Which is why the body thing is nonsense, but they also kind of don't have their body. If you look, none of them have their legs but they still have their appearance. But when you look at souls in Yemma's line, they are just little white clouds.

The whole keeping bodies thing involves a few factors determining "worthiness" of the characters. Videl and Chi Chi are close to pure hearted and also capable fighters. Bulma is less pure but considered a genius. Dabura was an exception determined by King Yemma himself.

Regarding people killed/absorbed it seems like a translation error. In the original version eaten = dead so only people absorbed via Buu's body parts (Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, Gohan, spoiler) remain alive within him to grant him extra power. As for why the girls keep (well, kind off) their bodies? That's just a filler weirdness. Only exceptional heroes are granted this honour. I guess they decided to do this weird semi-ghostly forms as it would be tough to immediately recognise just clouds (default otherworld form of non-heroic mortals) speaking in Chichi's, Bulma's and Videl's voices. There is even weirder filler upcoming (that both Janemba movie, GT and Super also used afterwards) with a bunch of other characters retaining their bodies even though they're as FAR from heroic as possible and Vegeta was supposed to be the only exception due to Yemma's meddling.
Goku getting things wrong about those eaten by Buu isn't a plot hole, the writers just phrased what he was trying to say incorrectly. Think back to when Goku first got back to Other World and asked King Yemma about whether or not Gohan was dead. Yemma explained to Goku that all those spirits waiting to be processed were earthlings Buu had killed. Most of which, he ate. So Goku knows that those eaten by Buu go to the Other World. He was explaining that those ABSORBED by Buu can't die because they're a part of him now (ie Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, and Gohan). Why the writer chose to lump everyone into one category, idk. And it's explained throughout the series that, in Other World, those who have lived lives as good people get to keep their bodies and go to an equivalent of heaven. Those who were pure evil their entire lives get to keep their bodies, but are cast into an equivalent of hell (Also known as HFIL or Home For Infinite Losers). Those who lived morally grey lives, like Vegeta, are forced to wander around as those cloud-like spirits. And yes. Bulma, Videl, and Chi-Chi only met Dabura in a filler episode. Thus why he's never mentioned again afterwards.

Finally at 11:15 again that pertains to those stuck in Buu and those who appeared in heaven don't have bodies that's their souls as you can see them floating, they have to depict and animate them in a manner where we as the audience can differentiate who's who as opposed to seeing a bunch of blob clouds floating about. It's King Yemma's job to decide which spirit is pure enough to be granted the retention of their bodies. Buu chooses to only absorb the most capable warriors inside him for the purposes of using their power, knowledge and skills in battle, much like Cell did with the androids but everyone else he eats in his case is pretty much for the enjoyment of food, he doesn't actually receive a power up from them at all unlike Cell who built his imperfect form off of the life energy of millions of humans, their energies were inside him making him stronger but their souls went to meet King Yemma for judgement. Buu ate Krillin, Android 18 and Dabura yet he didn't assimilate any of their powers, we never saw him turn anyone to stone with spit or claim he had an infinite energy source inside him or even use a destructo disk, they were just candy & chocolate to satisfy his hunger hence why after losing their bodies and being eaten their souls went to the other world and are not stuck inside of him like other fighters. If he absorbs you with his flesh he takes on your attributes and power, if he turns you into candy for food or outright kills you then he doesn't gain anything from you other than just entertainment. I always found it odd that even after absorbing several saiyans he didn't fully take on all of their traits, he doesn't seem to get stronger as a fight drags on nor does he gain a zenkai boost each time he comes back from a near death experience and a good thing too otherwise this would really be a short series. The dude could just keep exploding himself and come back more powerful each time if that was the case. (note: if Perfect Cell had adopted this strategy more than once he too would have won)! but the anime plot kicked in and he died. Frankly MajinBuu is such a prodigy and an op character that he only needs to see a technique once in order to learn it that alone means he doesn't have to suck up everyone he meets to gain something from them, he has regeneration up to a point which usually ends up being long enough to defeat most anyone he encounters, he doesn't age making him practically immortal and has no conscience, regrets or a sense of morality especially in his final form, he can absorb adversaries as needed to gain power ups on the spot and worst of all has magic at his disposal which further set's him apart from most other foes that solely rely on brute force. He's definitely the ultimate menace black air force candidate. I won't link that video here so as to not ruin the rest of the series for Madison. :)
No need to think any further than it was just filler added for the show only. Dabura & that stuff in the otherworld was added for the show to pad for time. Only when Buu absorbs people with him own flesh does he take in their powers, when he eats them as food he doesn't.
Plus, Buu doesn't need 18's energy reactor because as a "magical being", he already has an infinite amount of energy, as Gohan stated when Fat Buu knocked the living shit out of Dabura, Gohan says "His power! It's like he reached into a well of energy that doesn't end!" Buu, in any form, never ran out of energy. He may have gotten tired (or bored) to the point of falling asleep during his last fight with SS3 Gotenks, before Gohan showed up, but not because he ran out of energy.

Later on in the final fight where Fat Buu is taking on Kid Buu he's clearly shown gassed out, so much so that he couldn't even produce ki blasts anymore to attack him with so there clearly is a limit to his power, if one Buu has a limit it's safe to assume so does the other. Let's just be thankful that as I said he doesn't seem to grown in the midst of battle the same way saiyans do nor gets zenkai boosts from damage otherwise everyone would have really been screwed, an enormous energy source, a damn near immortal regenerative body and magic, yeah the Kai's would have needed to wake up Beerus to handle that one and against a god of destruction Buu's limitations would quickly become apparent to quote Frieza. Everyone from mortals to gods to angels have a limit to their powers with one exception and this is the only omnipotent character we've been introduce to so far, Zeno. If he's able to erase all of existence and all of the multiverses and timelines all at once on a whim then he's infinitely powerful, even if I'm mistaken and he's only a fraction then guess what 1% of infinity is still infinity. He's the end all be all of power scaling in the series till Toriyama says otherwise. Lastly as it pertains to Zeno it's important to note that there is a huge difference between regular ki, god ki and energy of destruction. What Zeno uses I believe is far above all of those, he doesn't use ki blasts to destroy you nor hakai you, it's none of that, you just simply cease to be, there is no soul or afterlife to speak off and worse yet there doesn't seem to be an upper limit to what he can will unexists if I'm explaining myself correctly. The damn midget can just end it all and be floating in a vast space of nothingness just as he showed when he erased the Trunks timeline and immortal Zamasu, it's insane, there is no resisting that. Now if he is what we call "god" then he's a flawed version of it cuz he does not appear to be omnipresent, he relies on his guards to take him places & witness things, he has a child like demeanor to him, requires attention, entertainment and some could argue is easily manipulated. We know for all intents & purposes he seems to be all powerful but is his body/mind immune from harm? beats me, ask the grand priest or one of his guards to attempt at chopping his fat little head off by surprise and I guess we'll find that out then wont we? till then, he's the benchmark for unadulterated power.
Where we see Chi-Chi, Bulma and the rest is called Afterlife... Snake Way, Soul Checkpoint with King Yema possibly some other neutral places like whenever they are atm. they don't have their bodies as you could see by the tail-ending that went down the bottom of their feet. Why they look as themselfs is possibly for us to recognize them instead of them being just like any other souls that could make some of us confused in this chatter. Vegito is named as such because his Japanese name is Vegetto, i.e. Vegeta + Kakarotto. I kinda wish the dub had come up with something similar, or at least alluded to the fact that the fusion of the two OG Saiyans chose to use their Saiyan names (Kakarot instead of Goku).

One can argue that the scene with Chichi, Bulma, Videl, and Debura in heaven was a plothole, but i dont think it was. Remember Majin Buu ate them as chocolate while he absorbed gotenks, piccolo and gohan. He made the boys a part of himself but I feel like the rest of the z-fighters and innocent people majin buu ate as candy/chocolate did in fact die upon consumption. Goku probably either doesn't fully know how majin buu works or the most likely reason goku told vegeta what he needed to hear in order to get him to co-operate seeing as goku knew they had no other option. He hit the bulma button which is obviously vegeta's soft spot. We all know how much he loves her. It might have been a necessary lie to get him to co-operate. Even when he knew that they would be stuck like vegito forever, vegeta disregarded it in order to make sure bulma would be saved or avenged. He was willing to again sacrifice himself for her. Not a lot of people notice this but its obvious he will do anything for her
I was about think maybe the women and Dabura being in the Otherworld WAS a plot hole but then realized that Fat Buu ate Dabura and the Humans and 18 and didnt gain their powers. He only ate them which is another way he kills. So, yes, maybe one of the Z Fighters only claimed they can't die now but they literally DID die once Buu ate them when he was Super on Kami's Loookout.

When Goku said "they can't even die" he was talking about Goten, Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo because they're actively integrated into his being. Everyone else Buu killed/ate do die in the traditional sense.
But he ended the sentence with "even Bulma". Could have been to get Vegeta on side but more likely he just didn't know any better about whether they'd die or not

I feel like Vegito's one-liners come from Vegeta's personality, but it's Goku's personality that lightens his mood/tension to say them.
The difference between Vegito & Gogeta is that whoever's name is used first is the dominate personality. With Vegito, Vegeta is the one in control. When they do the fusion dance in the Fusion Reborn Movie & in GT, Goku is the one in control. This also means that with Gotenks, Goten is the one in control, even though Trunks'/Vegeta's arrogance permeates through his personality.

Kinda wasn’t fair asking Madison what she thinks the name would be considering neither their names ends with an “o”. In Japanese, Kakarot is spelled as Kakarotto and they are combining their Saiyan names. Vege-ta + Kakaro-tto = Vegetto. In recent years,in the Dragonball Super manga Vegito’s name is now changed to Vegerot to make more sense of the translation.
Even back in Z the English manga called him Vegerot. It's a name that's been there since the beginning

As for the not being able to die, if Buu eats/absorbs you, I think he has the choice as to whether to use your power or disregard your essence. And if he disregards it, you are just thrown into the waste and are dead wheras the ones who were alive inside Buu are in cacoons

And yes the anime has a lot of filler scenes so I'm just talking about what the anime Is probably trying to show. And mistranslation or not barely makes much of a difference. Sometimes the change in dialogue is actually made better. In this case yes it does confuse things but it does make Bulma and the others situation sound worse when Goku said "they can't even die"
So, for the afterlife thing. Goku said they were a part of Buu, and couldn't die. That was his assumption, like when Buu absorbs someone. It doesn't work the same way, but he assumed that. And on keeping their bodies, they actually don't have their bodies they're spirits (notice the wispy tails they all have) us being able to recognize them, and not just looking like white spirit wisps is for us the audience I think
Now explain the scene where Goku & Vegeta are fighting Kid Buu & all the previous villains (including Frieza, Cell & even Babadi) are watching through a big ass crystal ball down in Hell, with all their physical bodies intact. Aside from just "Filler".

The idea is people absorbed by Buu can't die, but the people turned into food can. Chi Chi wasnt even eaten if I remember correctly, just turned into an egg and stepped on 💀.
They also don't technically have "bodies", hence the ghost tails. It's just a caricature/artistic choice so you can tell them apart.

In the Japanese Manga, when Vegito says, “What do you call a fusion between Vegeta & Goku, Vegito sounds alright, makes sense because Vegeta + Kakarotto = Vegito.
Vegito has a lot of lines and quotes that I love so much, but Vegito is stronger than Gogeta, Gogeta has 30 minutes to finish the fight, but Vegito has more stamina and endurance than Gogeta, but the time limit can decrease for both of them if they use too much power too soon.
It's never been said that Gogetas limit can decrease due to power usage. You're also pulling most of your comments on Vegitos superiority out of nowhere. Pretty much all opinion.

@@KorruptedFlame We already know it can. Gotenks' fusion time got shortened from using SSJ 3 so Gogeta would also have the same issues since they're both Metamoran fusions. As for power, Elder Kai says Potara fusion is better and there were several official guidebooks that straight up say Potara fusion is more powerful than Metamoran fusion. Whether those statements still apply currently is up for debate but it's definitely not out of nowhere.

The reason Vegito has more of a Vegeta attitude is because this particular style of fusion brings out more of his personality more than Goku's.
Vegito is such great character for the simple fact that he loves being alive. You can see throughout this episode he’s loving every second of it, where as Goku and Vegeta as individuals hate the idea of fusing. It’s why Vegito screams “alright” as soon as he makes his return in the black arc.

About Bulma and the others: Goku says to Vegeta their friends were all absorbed because he wasn't there when Buu ate Bulma and the others, I think he was just assuming they were absorbed by Buu like Piccolo, Gotenks and Gohan were. Bulma, Chichi, Videl, Krillin, etc. were killed and not absorbed, that's why they're in Other World. Absorbed doesn't necessarily mean dead. It gets explained. But there is the matter of Innocent Buu which she will find out, and that one 😂, I don't know, maybe someone will have an explanation for that

This is what I was thinking. Turning into food and eating them kills them vs absorption where they're still alive. But when Ultimate Gohan first arrived and Buu told him he ate Videl etc, Gohan got angry but then says "wait, I can still feel something" and smiles. That suggests to me that he could still faintly sense Videl etc which contradicts the theory, as he wouldn't be able to sense them if they were dead.

when buu turns people to candy or food and eats them, their bodies are physically destroyed and they die. What buu did too piccolo, gohan, and gotenks is different, he absorbed them into himself, but they are still existing inside buu. Chichi bulma and videl technically didnt have their body, but they are portrayed with all their clothes and looks for the audience to be able to tell its them. Usually when we see spirits in other world they are just white ghost lookin things

1:34 in the Japanese dub and manga Vegito told he is the combo of Kakarotto ( Kakarot in Japanese) and Bejita( Vegeta) as Bejito or Vegetto( Vegito) but in the eng dub they referred Kakarot as Goku
If Boo doesn't take their power when he eats them, they just die. If he takes their power for himself, he keeps them inside him.

Maybe he killed the other ones, but he absorbed Gotenks, piccolo and gohan. Which would explain why we see the others in heaven but not the rest of who boo absorbed. But yeah Goku did say that they can't even die, when they clearly seem dead. I don't think they paid too much attention to those details or maybe it's the English dub translation from Japanese that's horrible. Funimation is known for changing the original script, it could have been Viz Media at the time, but who knows. I think at that point in time, in the buu arc, Funimation were the owners.

All of them died cause buu eat people alive, how can people will survive after getting eaten yes he makes them candies, chocolate, etc but they are getting destroyed. Also remember that Dabura was inside yama check point ( other World) which means he dead after getting eaten by buu, cause buu didn't wanted to absorb his power. A LOT of the inconsistencies can easily be explained by this statement: The writers simply forgot. It's actually on record that Akira Toryama - the creator - actually forgot that Saiyans have tails.
I think with Potara fusion the more dominant personality comes through, but with a fusion dance the personalities are equal (possibly due to needing to be equal power level when fusing).
I could be wrong with that assessment, there may be info I’m unaware of in a manga I haven’t read, but that’s my thoughts on why it seems Vegita comes through more in Vegito.

It's not a plot hole, its a misconception on Gokus part. Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Piccalo can not die because they are part of Buu. The people who were turned to food and eaten where not absorbed into Buu they were simply eaten. So they died. Because they died, they went to heaven because they were good people, its not their bodies, just their spiritual forms looking like they looked while in life. Hence, the weird ghost tails, as for Debora, he was evil yes, he is supposed to be evil, and because he is evil he should have been sent to Hell, however he would have loved Hell, so instead he was sent to heaven as a punishment, however because one cannot enter heaven until all your evil is basically washed from you, we get an overly good Debora forever stuck in heaven never to know the joys of evil again.

@rishyasirungen9211 fat buu is a special case, ultimately I believe it's up to buu. Once there in his body they get digested like Goku and Vegita nearly did. However since buu has complete control over his body, inside and out, I would assume if the person is overly strong he absorbs them encasing them in his body and tapping into there strengths. Kind of like pod people. He's connected to them almost like the borg collective in startrek where once you are connected your part of the collective
Bulma, Chi Chi and Videl didn't really have their bodies back though. If you look at the bottom halves, they have little ghost "tails" I have seen that it was an artist choice to have their "bodies" on their spirit for the viewers ease rather than have 4 faceless blobs with their voices coming from them. I think Goku telling Vegeta "they can't even die" was just what he genuinely believed but was mistaken. Anyone absorbed whole by Buu is still alive inside him and feeding him their thoughts and abilities but anyone transformed into something like chocolate and then eaten all die in the usual way.

9:31 Yes, that was plot hole created by the English staff by saying that they were stuck inside Buu in an attempt to soften the blow of them being eaten for the young English audience. This is not true and you're seeing them in heaven in this scene. The English staff at that time was no stranger to rewriting parts of the show without doing proper research to see if it would cause plot issues.

Yes the part with Dabura is filler. King Yemma telling Goku that he sent Dabura to heaven, was the last time he was mentioned in the manga. And yes Goku saying that their friends couldn't die because they were part of Majin Buu was kind of a plot hole. But come on it's Goku, what does he know. I think he just said that to hit a nerve with Vegeta.
No, being "Absorbed" and eaten are 2 different things. Absorbed means still alive, fused into Buu body & him having access to their power, abilities & memories. People who are eaten actually die, the exception to this being when Bad/Evil Buu eating Fat Buu, but actually Absorbed him, that's the only inconsistency/plothole.
Maybe Goku was just caught up in the moment it was emotional the people that came down right now it is Goten and trunks and piccolo as well as Majin Buu

This is it, it's finally here...the EPIC fight of insane proportion!! I'm so hyped I've got nothing to comment on other than screaming like hell cheering for this fight!! Since you already know and watched the fusion reborn movie, I loved both Fusion types for Goku and Vegeta, both have their own unique advantages, esthetics(appearance), powers and skill set, even personality and characteristics.
But suffice to say that what Gogeta can do Vegito can do too, since both came from the same fusee. Only difference is that, one is a technique invented by the metamorans and the other is a divine earrings(maybe artefacts?) made for the Supreme Kais or/and other deities in general maybe?
The honest explanation for bulma and co is that those scenes are all anime-only scenes created by toei. They really dont make much sense, but thats just sort of how it goes with Toei filler stuff.
There's a scene in the next episode with yamcha that I quantify as half assed filler on toei's part.

Yes, the scene where Bulma, Chi Chi, Videl, and Dabura are wondering around in heaven is filler that only appears in the anime. According to official lore the only people who are awarded a body in the afterlife are certain pure hearted fighters who'd lived a selfless life. Originally, anyone who was impure (such as the evil people and the antagonist of the series) had their spirits cleansed, their memories erased, and were reincarnated (reborn) to live another life - this is how Janemba is born in the "Fusion Reborn" movie when the spirit cleansing machine was overwhelmed and erupted due to Buu's mayhem on earth (by the way, if you watch this one definitely watch with the Japanese BGM or Subbed). More recently, Akira Toriyama changed this to where certain impure fighters would also be allowed to keep their bodies but instead of being given freedom to travel they'd be trapped and tortured in pods for eternity, as seen in the "Resurrection F" movie.
That’s definitely filler. When he turns them into chocolate they do die. Second off they aren’t in their bodies as you can see behind them. It’s just showing their bodies to is so we know who is who. That’s why later when you see krillin and others they actually have their body. When he absorbed gotenks and gohan it’s like a fusion that’s why they aren’t dead. So many comments about this. Do people that watch the show not natively speak English? And then advocate for a version of the show that has them talking in ways that no native speaker would ever talk, while trying to sell the show to native speakers?
That's akin to trying to sell an originally American show in Japan, first dubbing it in a way that makes sense with Japanese sentence structure... And then a second time dubbing it in a way where it sounds like an American after getting to the second course of the Rosetta Stone, and trying to sell that to them as being the better version because they don't use honorifics the second time around, since Americans don't do that... Or saying "I'll take the rice bowl, please." instead of a native more accurately saying "Please, a Rice bowl I'll have. Thank you" Which sounds busted af in English, but is the rough order of words you'd use when being "accurate." thus resulting in it not making any sense in the market they are selling to.
Also, literally none of the base Vegito stuff happened. It's filler. Anime only stuff. So the whole standing in place thing, all of that.
To explain the "can't die" thing, it can be read 1 of 2 ways
a) Goku thought Buu eating them meant Bulma and the others couldn't die
b) Goku meant to specify that the people Buu absorbed couldn't die and it's a lack of clarity in the translation that gave the perception that he was talking about everyone eaten too.
Also yes, the afterlife sections are largely filler. Fun filler, but filler.

The whole keeping bodies thing involves a few factors determining "worthiness" of the characters. Videl and Chi Chi are close to pure hearted and also capable fighters. Bulma is less pure but considered a genius. Dabura was an exception determined by King Yemma himself.

Regarding people killed/absorbed it seems like a translation error. In the original version eaten = dead so only people absorbed via Buu's body parts (Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, Gohan, spoiler) remain alive within him to grant him extra power.
As for why the girls keep (well, kind off) their bodies? That's just a filler weirdness. Only exceptional heroes are granted this honour. I guess they decided to do this weird semi-ghostly forms as it would be tough to immediately recognise just clouds (default otherworld form of non-heroic mortals) speaking in Chichi's, Bulma's and Videl's voices.
There is even weirder filler upcoming (that both Janemba movie, GT and Super also used afterwards) with a bunch of other characters retaining their bodies even though they're as FAR from heroic as possible and Vegeta was supposed to be the only exception due to Yemma's meddling.

Goku getting things wrong about those eaten by Buu isn't a plot hole, the writers just phrased what he was trying to say incorrectly. Think back to when Goku first got back to Other World and asked King Yemma about whether or not Gohan was dead. Yemma explained to Goku that all those spirits waiting to be processed were earthlings Buu had killed. Most of which, he ate. So Goku knows that those eaten by Buu go to the Other World. He was explaining that those ABSORBED by Buu can't die because they're a part of him now (ie Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, and Gohan). Why the writer chose to lump everyone into one category, idk.
And it's explained throughout the series that, in Other World, those who have lived lives as good people get to keep their bodies and go to an equivalent of heaven. Those who were pure evil their entire lives get to keep their bodies, but are cast into an equivalent of hell (Also known as HFIL or Home For Infinite Losers). Those who lived morally grey lives, like Vegeta, are forced to wander around as those cloud-like spirits.
And yes. Bulma, Videl, and Chi-Chi only met Dabura in a filler episode. Thus why he's never mentioned again afterwards.
I think the one-liners come from Vegeta, but the smirk and calmness come from Goku. And they both bring that confidence.

Finally at 11:15 again that pertains to those stuck in Buu and those who appeared in heaven don't have bodies that's their souls as you can see them floating, they have to depict and animate them in a manner where we as the audience can differentiate who's who as opposed to seeing a bunch of blob clouds floating about. It's King Yemma's job to decide which spirit is pure enough to be granted the retention of their bodies.
Buu chooses to only absorb the most capable warriors inside him for the purposes of using their power, knowledge and skills in battle, much like Cell did with the androids but everyone else he eats in his case is pretty much for the enjoyment of food, he doesn't actually receive a power up from them at all unlike Cell who built his imperfect form off of the life energy of millions of humans, their energies were inside him making him stronger but their souls went to meet King Yemma for judgement. Buu ate Krillin, Android 18 and Dabura yet he didn't assimilate any of their powers, we never saw him turn anyone to stone with spit or claim he had an infinite energy source inside him or even use a destructo disk, they were just candy & chocolate to satisfy his hunger hence why after losing their bodies and being eaten their souls went to the other world and are not stuck inside of him like other fighters. If he absorbs you with his flesh he takes on your attributes and power, if he turns you into candy for food or outright kills you then he doesn't gain anything from you other than just entertainment. I always found it odd that even after absorbing several saiyans he didn't fully take on all of their traits, he doesn't seem to get stronger as a fight drags on nor does he gain a zenkai boost each time he comes back from a near death experience and a good thing too otherwise this would really be a short series. The dude could just keep exploding himself and come back more powerful each time if that was the case. (note: if Perfect Cell had adopted this strategy more than once he too would have won)! but the anime plot kicked in and he died.
Frankly MajinBuu is such a prodigy and an op character that he only needs to see a technique once in order to learn it that alone means he doesn't have to suck up everyone he meets to gain something from them, he has regeneration up to a point which usually ends up being long enough to defeat most anyone he encounters, he doesn't age making him practically immortal and has no conscience, regrets or a sense of morality especially in his final form, he can absorb adversaries as needed to gain power ups on the spot and worst of all has magic at his disposal which further set's him apart from most other foes that solely rely on brute force. He's definitely the ultimate menace black air force candidate. I won't link that video here so as to not ruin the rest of the series for Madison. :)
No need to think any further than it was just filler added for the show only. Dabura & that stuff in the otherworld was added for the show to pad for time. Only when Buu absorbs people with him own flesh does he take in their powers, when he eats them as food he doesn't.
Plus, Buu doesn't need 18's energy reactor because as a "magical being", he already has an infinite amount of energy, as Gohan stated when Fat Buu knocked the living shit out of Dabura, Gohan says "His power! It's like he reached into a well of energy that doesn't end!" Buu, in any form, never ran out of energy. He may have gotten tired (or bored) to the point of falling asleep during his last fight with SS3 Gotenks, before Gohan showed up, but not because he ran out of energy.

Later on in the final fight where Fat Buu is taking on Kid Buu he's clearly shown gassed out, so much so that he couldn't even produce ki blasts anymore to attack him with so there clearly is a limit to his power, if one Buu has a limit it's safe to assume so does the other. Let's just be thankful that as I said he doesn't seem to grown in the midst of battle the same way saiyans do nor gets zenkai boosts from damage otherwise everyone would have really been screwed, an enormous energy source, a damn near immortal regenerative body and magic, yeah the Kai's would have needed to wake up Beerus to handle that one and against a god of destruction Buu's limitations would quickly become apparent to quote Frieza. Everyone from mortals to gods to angels have a limit to their powers with one exception and this is the only omnipotent character we've been introduce to so far, Zeno.
If he's able to erase all of existence and all of the multiverses and timelines all at once on a whim then he's infinitely powerful, even if I'm mistaken and he's only a fraction then guess what 1% of infinity is still infinity. He's the end all be all of power scaling in the series till Toriyama says otherwise. Lastly as it pertains to Zeno it's important to note that there is a huge difference between regular ki, god ki and energy of destruction. What Zeno uses I believe is far above all of those, he doesn't use ki blasts to destroy you nor hakai you, it's none of that, you just simply cease to be, there is no soul or afterlife to speak off and worse yet there doesn't seem to be an upper limit to what he can will unexists if I'm explaining myself correctly. The damn midget can just end it all and be floating in a vast space of nothingness just as he showed when he erased the Trunks timeline and immortal Zamasu, it's insane, there is no resisting that. Now if he is what we call "god" then he's a flawed version of it cuz he does not appear to be omnipresent, he relies on his guards to take him places & witness things, he has a child like demeanor to him, requires attention, entertainment and some could argue is easily manipulated. We know for all intents & purposes he seems to be all powerful but is his body/mind immune from harm? beats me, ask the grand priest or one of his guards to attempt at chopping his fat little head off by surprise and I guess we'll find that out then wont we? till then, he's the benchmark for unadulterated power.

Where we see Chi-Chi, Bulma and the rest is called Afterlife... Snake Way, Soul Checkpoint with King Yema possibly some other neutral places like whenever they are atm. they don't have their bodies as you could see by the tail-ending that went down the bottom of their feet. Why they look as themselfs is possibly for us to recognize them instead of them being just like any other souls that could make some of us confused in this chatter.

Vegito is named as such because his Japanese name is Vegetto, i.e. Vegeta + Kakarotto. I kinda wish the dub had come up with something similar, or at least alluded to the fact that the fusion of the two OG Saiyans chose to use their Saiyan names (Kakarot instead of Goku).

One can argue that the scene with Chichi, Bulma, Videl, and Debura in heaven was a plothole, but i dont think it was. Remember Majin Buu ate them as chocolate while he absorbed gotenks, piccolo and gohan. He made the boys a part of himself but I feel like the rest of the z-fighters and innocent people majin buu ate as candy/chocolate did in fact die upon consumption. Goku probably either doesn't fully know how majin buu works or the most likely reason goku told vegeta what he needed to hear in order to get him to co-operate seeing as goku knew they had no other option. He hit the bulma button which is obviously vegeta's soft spot. We all know how much he loves her. It might have been a necessary lie to get him to co-operate. Even when he knew that they would be stuck like vegito forever, vegeta disregarded it in order to make sure bulma would be saved or avenged. He was willing to again sacrifice himself for her. Not a lot of people notice this but its obvious he will do anything for her
I was about think maybe the women and Dabura being in the Otherworld WAS a plot hole but then realized that Fat Buu ate Dabura and the Humans and 18 and didnt gain their powers. He only ate them which is another way he kills. So, yes, maybe one of the Z Fighters only claimed they can't die now but they literally DID die once Buu ate them when he was Super on Kami's Loookout.
