yung Ant free form all the way my man. It gets a lot of respect from other dread heads and it’s so much more about the process/journey of slowly seeing you hair knot into these wildly unique patterns and knots. No two free form locs will ever look the same; they all have their own story, which you can read if you analyze them closely.

I think you should do whatever your heart desires when it comes to the way you want to start dreads..Before my start on my free form journey in March of this year, two years prior I had tried 2 sets of uniform locks and I chose freeborn because I didn’t have to think about getting them re-twisted and putting the tension on my hair, thinning, etc, etc. So with that being said, you make the decision, no one else because it is a spiritual journey and definitely a change of the mind!

Being starting my freeform dreadlock journey I use water I started to use my palm once I went past 6 inches and my head started to itch cuz they are not mature I started this but what came after was kool. I like to send pictures of my journey to share

That's gross. I started free forming from bald taper and all I did was wash.
I hand twisted mine considering my hair only grows sustainably when in twist or braided form.
JACKSONVILLE RED I’ve been organically forming locks in my straight hair for over a decade. I keep mine clean, so I can give my hair a actual chance to form locks. No manipulation needed, just patience and natural shampoo!
@JACKSONVILLE RED I washed my shit FREQUENTLY. STILL DO. This is my 2nd set of locks and I chose freeform. I was already hip to the mold so I made sure I washed my shit from the start. Everyday! If I can! I ain't never twisted one lock and I got fullhead. More then my first set which where "twisted". It takes longer yes but because we are of african ancestry, it just lock naturally. If U got the Patients you can wash everyday. Just don't comb it. It will lock. Our hair is naturally suppose to be that way.

I have 3b 3c and I’m sort of thinking of doing this not any time in the near near future tho. I’m just worried tho that my hair is gonna become literally one giant matted thing like one huge dreadlock lmao because whenever my hair gets seriously tangled by my last day hair, especially if I like sweated a lot that day or something it feels like it tangles into one huge piece.
