    Great to see the X870E Taichi UEFI Overview! Very informative! More of these videos should be done in depth. With your expert knowledge, the information can be gleaned by the viewer that can't be found anywhere else on YT! You may not understand how helpful it really is to so many... even we who have been building for decades because we don't have a friend with this kind of knowledge who can share with us... we have to do it on our own.

    That Video was 🙂👍very nice, thanks for the overview, I think there should be a lot more of these videos. Even for me, with almost 3 decades as a PC builder / gamer, it was still quite interesting and informative, especially because I will now be using an ASROCK board for the first time for my AM5 9800X3D build. Previously I only had Asus boards and two MSIs over the years. But I'm now done with Asus once and for all. In my opinion, they are now completely disconnected from reality. And with all of their ROG boards in increasingly lighter, stripped-down versions at absolutely outrageous prices🤬. Normally I wanted to use exactly this board, only in the Taichi Lite version. But then I decided on the X870 Steel Legend. If my first ASROCK experience is positive, I won't rule out a quick upgrade, I know that when it comes to motherboards, I'm someone who likes to spend hours tweaking. And flagship motherboards are simply great for exactly this purpose.

    Just what I'm looking for, wish I found this earlier. Looking to buy a new x870 board have been time consuming to say the least. Since I've been using Asus for 20 years I was leaning towards the Crosshair x870e, but not so sure anymore with the shared pci-lanes on both m2 and second pci-slot. Both the Taichi and Nova x870e's , as I understand it, doesn't have this and in that case suites me better using pci soundcard (correct me if I'm wrong please).
    Guess it's time to change brand, finally. Please keep this kind of videos comming! Very good for us in search/research of new mb's.
    Thanks! You've got a new subscriber, and I think more will follow if you keep doing this :)

    Considering the light version for my new build so this was very useful, thank you. I would have liked to hear some comments on how difficult it was to make 8000MHz work, your conciderations on going for a 8000 set (as opposed to 8200 or 8400), and a discussion of why you chose 8000 (did higher clocks fail?). But at least I got to gleam your primary timings which is helpful in itself if I choose to go for this board. Thanks again

      I saw somewhere that the RAM for the AMD CPUs are only reliable when using only two sticks. Using 4 sticks causes problems.
      I think it’s related to EXPO mode and the default JEDEC. ???

    • @Meticulate826
      @Meticulate826 25 днів тому

      @@pcartisan2721 Yeah, I've figured this out since. What is important for gaming is that 8000Mhz+ for AMD doesn't provoide you 32GB per stick, only 24. There are games now that benefit from 64GB of system RAM in addition to high amounts of GPU-memory. That means 6000-6400MHz are the better options for AMD systems right now regardless of how far beyond 8000MHz you manage to push your silicon.

    I've set my 9950x to "PBO. Tjmax = 65°C and Curve Optimizer -20mv" for now with the x870E Tachi.
    I don't like components getting hotter than 70°C, and plus I sweat quite easily - so I would rather a cooler room.
    The CPU reaches around 5.1-5.2Ghz at 100% Load with this setting.
    I'm not sure if -40mV will be stable.
    Kinda worried about my AMD GPU driver crashing in DirectX 12 due to the CPU being undervolted too much, which was a big problem on my MSI x570 Unify w/5950x.

    Question about your tier list video with the x870e boards. How come some people refer the asrock x870e nova as a S tier board where the x870e taichi board is considered A tier? Is there something the nova has over the taichi besides a pcie x1 slot and an extra gen 3 m.2? I’d just like to know why people are going out of their way to buy out these nova’s and flip them for profit.

    Hi I have a question for you Game Tech Reviews, do you think that MSI will release the ACE model this year or not?, and do you think that MSI will surprise people and there will be no sharing of PCIE lines on NVME drive slots?, I ask because I do not know whether to wait until the end of the year to buy a motherboard for the new PC, because I think to buy now ASROCK X890E Taichi or wait for MSI ACE, I have a little conundrum😉.

    • @GameTechReviews
      @GameTechReviews  Місяць тому +1

      If it comes out, it would be in a 2nd wave of revised boards next year. MSI is the only motherboard vendor that has taken an interesting approach of sharing the lanes between the ASM4242 and a 2nd Gen 5 M.2. Everyone didn't bother doing that so they could do something similar in the future.

      To enable/disable power down mode (i.e., Deep Sleep) on an ASRock motherboard:
      Press F2 or Del during POST to enter BIOS setup
      Select the Advanced menu
      Enter the ACPI Configuration
      Deep Sleep (S5) is the 3rd one down
      Power down mode temporarily turns off a device to save power.

      It may seem that way on the surface, but actually their BIOS is simple and straightforward, which is a welcomed relief from others. It has functions grouped together that are used together instead of spreading them all over the place... and that's just one of its many advantages.

      Well you should try one of the laggy gigabyte bioses. Speaking from my own experience with B550 board. New X870/E have the same problems. This look so responsive and logically structured I really can't wait for my Nova board to arrive. Great video btw. It is like comparing flashy but useless RGB fan with no performance with no RGB fan aimed for it.
