Yeah I know some thrift stores do! Goodwill does send stuff to auction here too- I’m surprised the belt buckle made it through! Our other thrifts- they support people with disabilities so I’m wondering if they train people with their eBay store - it’s mostly books at low prices
I still have my Goody comb from the 90’s. They last forever. I bought a replacement a few years ago when I was out of town because I forgot to pack it: they are not the same. Great find. My daughter & I are always looking for the unusual mystery objects.
@@pishposhreselling would you be able to share what type of camera you use? I use my iPhone but I still struggle with lighting and getting photos right.
This is such a great story! Congratulations on your find 🎉 this is what I love about reselling … you just never know what treasure you might stumble across. My best and also unexpected thrift flip was a life size plush husky that sold for $1500. It blew my mind. Second best find was a super early 1940s Coach handbag. I didn’t know if it was real and left it behind because I had no cell service to look it up. I went home and did my research and turned around and immediately got back in my car to go back to the thrift. Sadly it was gone. And it still haunts me 👻
An amazing thrift! Imagine donating a sterling belt buckle to a thrift! I'm guessing it's very old and the previous owner didn't pay much for it in 1950 so he donated it or his family didn't bother checking it at all. That stingray piece was so cool, the glaze was amazing. It almost seems like that brass piece is missing something. Seems like it may have had some type of backing originally since it has no hanger. Maybe a ceramic or marble-lish matter that broke? Wood that split? It is cool and somebody will love it. Speaking of stuff people donate, yesterday I was at a shop I don't get to often, it's a bit far away. They'd gotten 6 new/gently used Dooney & Bourke bags, 1 huge Coach bag, a Coach belt, 3 pr Jimmy Choo Shoes, 4 pr Manolo Blahnik shoes, 2 pr Tori Burch shoes along with clothing in 1 donation. What? If you can afford to donate that then you have too much money, lol! It's not even a good tax deduction because you can only claim what the store would sell the pieces for. One sweet thing happened....an elderly man was looking in the case with the bags and wanted to see them. They unlocked it and he took pictures of 3 red D&B's. He sent the pic to his wife so she could pick one for her Valentine's gift. They also had a red knit dress on a manni that he asked about, kept looking at, finally asked if he could buy it. It was a surprise extra gift for her, he wanted it rolled up inside the bag. How sweet is that? He scored huge points with all the ladies helping him, that's for sure. The woman undressing the manni (more like a dressmakers form) told him to be sure to turn around while she took the dress off and he did, lol! So cute!
What a fun interaction you got to witness! Amazing what some people donate. The fact the belt was still fastened shows me that no one really looked at it. Thrift must have just processed quickly because all their belts are hung flat. You just never know!
Congratulations on the belt buckle find. Please keep us posted. The crystalline pottery looks similar to another artist, DeLane Hornbeck; she was my neighbor in PA until moving to FL; her pieces also command a high price. have a great day.
At first, I thought of the buckle that you were going to say Mexico, then I go ! No!!! That was an Aspen Leaf!!! They wouldn’t make a buckle with an aspen leaf ( nor was it the style of…) so I was cheering COLORADO! and you came through for me!!! YAY !!! Score!!!
Congrats on the buckle--what fun! I do have a small pile of items that I think are 'something' but have not been able to figure out their value. It can be daunting to figure out some items, or worse; identify a maker but then not really know how to get an idea of value or how/where to sell it.
Yay 🎉. Lots of amazing finds!!! Thanks for the great advice! I’m currently on vacation so no finds but I did get a notification from eBay that I’m a top reseller this month so I’m pretty excited about that!!!
So, I do love the brass figurative piece, but after you talked fused glass, and that flat back, I think it would marry well with a fused or stained glass piece, simple design, framed. Almost as if it was the leading in a stained piece. Mr Pish Posh could mount it upon glass and wedge it so you don’t need adhesive. Do it! Or send it off to an artist. I love that idea, though. I also have a similar story on a piece that I’ve not listed for a year that is IDENTICAL to a Christie auction piece that netted 17 thousand dollars. I still can’t move on it. I just need a particular nugget of information to release me from analyses paralysis.
I seem to remember that brass family hooks into a fireplace screen on the top for decoration. You might want to go back to that store and look for the screen just in case. Love the belt buckle story.
Shannon!!! What an exciting find!!! I'm rooting for you to get the $1700 - 2000 range for that Aspen buckle!! So happy for you. This is what we all mean when we say how much we appreciate your research savvy & intuition!!! I hope you & Mr PP squeeze a nice celebratory dinner out of the profit from the sale!!! -:)
What an awesome find!! I really think the family figures should go no lower than 60 or $70. It’s a really neat piece even if it’s not signed it may be a long tail item but why not shoot for high?! Can’t wait to see the video where you show the sold belt buckle! Thanks for all your educational content I watch every single video of yours.
Thank you for your excellent content! Beginner reseller, long time thrifter. Congrats on your great find! I too once found a large signed turquoise and sterling belt buckle at a thrift store for a few dollars, but I am not sure what to do for resell. There is damage to the turquoise sculpture of a horse, so it is sitting in a drawer as I feel afraid to list it. LOL Your research is pretty impressive, and I am learning lots !
I wondered if you might list that belt buckle with or without the belt (like, sell belt separately?). Would the belt drag the listing down or make the sale more valuable?
What a thrift trip!!! For the Pish Posh record book!. Similarly, in Omaha, I had been housebound with the subzero temps and a head cold, and am now venturing out, hoping for modest results. Regardless of maker, the figural wall art is a great statement piece. I hope it sells well for you! Great leaning video; thanks!
I have 2 glasses that say TAG on the bottom of them but cannot find anything about them. I know that TAG makes bongs but they never show glasses like these. Is there a glass identifying Facebook group ? The glasses are very thick and heavy
Yes I love the hunt and research but takes so much time but I learn a lot !!
Love your videos! You should have more subscribers. You are a wonderful teacher. I have learned so much from you. Thanks!
Thank you! Slowly and steadily we’re growing 😂
Oh I second this! I devour the content here. Suits my learning style all the way.
AGREED!!!!
Fantastic finds. I live in NJ and they scour the goods before they put the items on the floor. 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you! 🤗
Way to go Sharon, excellent finds!👏
Thanks! 😊
Looks like people were cleaning house while you were stuck at home. Amazing finds ❤️🔥👩🌾
Could be! Deep freeze - nothing else to do? 😂
I just love doing the research on those "One off" finds. Congratulations on the belt buckle!
Me too!
Very cool story! Love it!

Wow on the plush! And yes the ones that get away can haunt us!
That is amazing! I always say, they can't/don't catch them all. Congrats!
That’s true! Amazed we timed it just right too
Picks??? Who knew!!!
😂 right?
A must have for curls and perms!!
Great finds! The belt buckle is very exciting. On the brass Art you might just pick a higher start price and run an auction…who knows!
You never know!
How could you not be smiling as you talk about the buckle? :)
