  • The 1964-1965 New York World's Fair hosted over 140 pavilions and 110 restaurants, representing 80 nations, 24 U.S. states, with exhibits from 45 corporations. Located at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, New York City, this immense fair covered 646 acres (approximately half the park,) with numerous pools or fountains, and an amusement park with rides near the lake.
The New York State Pavilion, shown here, was one of the structures left standing after the fair. It was made famous in the Men In Black movies. But it has gone into disrepair. It has received several rounds of rehabilitation, and the current project should restore it to grandeur, minus the active observation decks and elevated cafeterias with elevator service. Scheduled completion is the summer of 2025.
