Okay so after reviewing the video, it would seem it was not good financially, and therefore, they had to get corporations involved (with corporate money) to pull focus and it became less a full on representation of cultures, and more speculative about our technological ideas. I think we're ready for them again. If we can pay 100 bucks for Disney, we certainly can invest in our knowledge about other cultures and inventions.

The answer to what happened to the World's Fair is complicated, technically they still happen, there was one in Milan in 2015, but they are much smaller events that focus more on advocacy than technology. That last really huge one was probably 1964, and they started declining from there, the last in North America was in 1986 in Vancouver. There are many theories to why they have declined, the most common are:
    1. There is no need for them in the internet age, if a company can show the world their latest inventions in a webcast, there is little point in people traveling to an expo to see it.
    2. There is simply too much technological advancement going on across the world for one event to showcase it all, and World Fair's have been replaced by dedicated technology events like E3 and the Consumer Electronics show.
    3. They never really made any money even in their heyday and cities simply got tired of spending massively to support them.

In the 1939 clip showing the Television camera, one can see the George Westinghouse Bridge. So I'm assuming that that clip is from the Westinghouse exhibit, and then in 1964 the "Unisphere" (still extant.) was provided by United States Steel. This shows how important Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was in the first half of the 20th Century.

Most world's fairs are built of temporary materials. After the 1939 fair the pavilions were torn down. And after the 1964 fair the pavilions were torn down. What is left is the Unisphere, the Queens Museum, the Museum of Natural History, and the ruins of the New York Pavilion.
The fairgrounds have been turned into a large city park.

I went to the fair in 1965 with my parents and sister, I was ten. I still remember much of it because it made quite an impression. Whenever we go to Disney I insist on going on the Carousel of Progress because it reminds me of the fair where I first saw it. We skipped It's a Small World at the fair because the line was too long. I think the Sinclair Oil dinosaur exhibit is the one I remember best, the Uniroyal pavilion was right next to it with a huge tire/Ferris Wheel. And I remember that the buildings with the big white balls on the roof were fast food restaurants.

Went two years 64 and 65. The Beatles were playing at Shea Staium the day I was there. Could see Shea stadium in the distance. Great time I remember the RCA exhibit had a long line. People were freaking since they could see themselves on live video or Tv as it was known then. GM, Ford stood out to the max. Different side exhibits too. Some were funky as the Africans? dressed in grass attire. Doing the Wautusi to the Land of a thousand dancers song. More of a carnival type exhibit among others. Fair was the best since I was a young kid.

I think the Worlds Fairs actually gave people hope for a future vision as well. But,..i wonder how those people who saw the various worldsFairs back then, think of our world today? As I have said before, unfortunatley, because of american culture, all VERY GOOD modern tech is FIRST GRABBED up by our military and is never shared with the general public. Later, if one is lucky, the "tech" is shared with us THROUGH Gates, and Apple and Samsung and Chinese technologies or through computer gaming or given to NASA.

It seems Disney participated in these temporary World's Fairs, then stole their thunder. Yet Disney gets all the credit for conceptualizing "his dream world" in Florida. I believe that's a bunch of hooey and a cover story. Notice they dropped "park" and "fair" for "world" so the association wouldn't be so obvious. Yet same thing. The temporary parks could never again measure up to permanent Disney theme parks after they came on the scene. Disney kept building and enhancing Disney World, and adding new auxiliary parks (EPCOT is still much like a World's Fair). World's Fairs started over each time and struggled to break even because infrastructure had to be created new each time.
I attended the last World's Fair in New Orleans in 1984. It was unimpressive, a cheap disaster and lost money. Wouldn't even put it in same league with previous World's Fairs. Perhaps its fairly close proximity to Disney World didn't help lure visitors either. Anyone traveling from outside the Southeast could just as easily travel to Florida Disney World.
I believe much will be coming out about Mr. Disney and other things going on at his theme parks. He was a freemason, luciferian, and NWO supporter. Logic would support the idea that much early park support/land acquisition was by cabal until the parks became profitable. Certainly now a permanent cash cow for them and they don't have to move it and start over each time. Would venture to say the same people were probably responsible for World's Fairs too, til they saw a permanent location was more cost effective. 1964 was probably their last good fair that any real effort was put into - timing of Disney's opening in 1970s would seem to fit this theory. Long-distance travel had just matured (747s came out in 1970s). Just speculating. Call it conspiracy theory, but pieces seem to fit.

The reality is that it has become too expensive to hold world's fairs. Expo 2015 in Milan cost 1.25 billion dollars. The 1964 New York fair lost money, and the 1984 New Orleans fair went bankrupt before it was even over. It took the City of New Orleans decades to recover from the loss.
The New Orleans fair was a disaster, but there were two wonderful things there, The Wonderwall, and the Amphitheater. Both of which the city tore down immediately after the fair. There was talk of dismantling the amphitheater and moving it to Louis Armstrong Park, but nothing ever came of it.

Sounds like you backhandedly blame corporations, when you actually look up the history of the world fair that’s all it’s always been, just not the legal entity of a corporation. Anyone who ends with “unfortunately the government still can’t fund it” and now blames corporations is taking the easy political route that a certain political party takes over and over. What was Edison doing with his company to sell the idea of the telephone monopoly goals or the typewriter to Tv Camers. In actuality, it’s rules and regulations that make things less fun. Back in 1900’s, anyone could bring their most wild invention and show it all, now you have to go through layers and layers of red tape to show your device. Is it UL Certified? Do you have insurance? You can’t let kids climb on that they might get hurt. The Statue of Liberty was partially funded by selling tickets to let kids climb on the display hand, thought of during the spur of the moment. You would need a team of lawyers and millions of dollars just to have a shot to show off something new that’s cool, that’s bigger than a few foot model on the table. People are always in awe of size, power and or innovation.
