I would like know if everyone prefers this style of guide, short, sweet and to the point, or would everyone prefer a more indepth, maybe 45 minute long video explaining each Profession?
As a new player I prefer short guides that are direct to the point and help to avoid common beginner mistakes. Just enough to set me off on the right foot, then I can make my own decisions and start learning and experiencing from there. If I get more experience and wanna dig into mechanics more, longer guides.
I've been watching loads of Mesmer guides recently, and this is above and beyond the best I've seen. It's down to earth and no nonsense. Easiest guide to understand, by far. Thank You So Much for this video!
Instructions unclear. Cloned myself to in an attempt to avoid the black lion trading tax. My clone was cut to pieces by black lion tax collectors. Now I am presumed dead and can't access any of the major cities in fear of trial and execution. Please send help. And enough gold to buy a name change contract so I can change my name.
I've played for about two years, I have one character, a Mesmer. Nuff said! Haha!! Seeing 3 of me, with my hawt fashion = total win! Oh also, condi mirage staff/staff is da best in open world and not bad in raiding. Great video!!
Loved the guide! Really helped my newbie friends to understand the class with a good bit of comedy! I hope you don't mind me giving juuuust a slight nitpick/more info Mesmers summon illusions which are both phantasms and clones. You can only explode/shatter clones. You cannot explode/shatter a phantasm. Phantasms are the illusions that do the one ability (they can be interrupted) and then transforms itself into a clone. (excluding the trait chronophantasma) There is no limit to how many phantasms you can summon. F3 is not a stun, it's a daze. Stuns stop you from moving and using skills while daze only stops you from using skills. You can still move and dodge while you are dazed. I know this is a bit more detailed and is probably out of the scope for a introductory video but I wanted to mention it nonetheless in-case any newcomers get confused!
"F3 is not a stun, it's a daze. Stuns stop you from moving and using skills while daze only stops you from using skills. You can still move and dodge while you are dazed." You can. But in regard to enemies in PvE, daze and stun act the same.
@@AshenWingzGaming yes I was just about to start playing and saw this guide and needed more haha! I played about 12?? years ago as a kid and loved it, and just remembered it because the prime gaming deal.
So i was torn between elementlist and mesmer as my first ever character, after watching this all i can say is fuck elementalist i'm gonna main mesmer :')
I run a bizarre build that has staff/gs because I do a lot of solo stuff and staff can be slow, but if I were going to do strikes, I'd go staff/staff. Better to give alacrity IMO.
in raids they have a lot of different uses. tank/dps/supp. in Fractals, they sort of lack ae attacks, but are still capable and very good on single target bosses. Open world pve; also yes.
Mesmer is annoying to play in PvE. The build you'd probably be running is either dual staff alacrity mirage (that can solo a lot of things in this game, but it sure takes a fuckin while), or something far less efficient but not as boring. Mesmer DOES shine in PvP though, and WvW as well
Oh and I was referring to open world/frogs, I don't really do raids but for raids you'll probably be an even bigger alacrity slave but on Chrono instead of Mirage

Truth be told I would like both lol

Thanks so much for the kind words ❤️ I hope to have the other classes out soon as well!
I wish you did all the classes, this was so good
I want too but I gotta find more free time first! Next one I'm working on is Revenant though :D
Thanks for the guide. I just chose Mesmer and now I'm glad I did. 🥰
Not to sound ungrateful but I can't wait to see "so you want to play a _______" video for all the professions great job
Ask and you shall recieve! Working on some now haha

Tarir is your safe haven! Octovine until enough gold lol. Then you can be someone else and definitely "not" do that again
And chuckle I did lol... this was pretty fun to watch, hope you are still making vids, I'll subscribe to watch 'em. Best luck.
"It's a lovely day to walk down the road, and if I ever stop casting I will explode!"
- Mesmer Staff Illusion
It's true I've had gold sent to me for portaling some through a jumping puzzle. Didn't ask for it but it's nice.
Incredible video. I laughed the whole time 😂😂😂
3:15 Don't you dare to pick on people who use staff. I WILL flex on you with my Mesmer staff :P

Thanks! I wasn't sure to play as this, cause I was confused if it is spellcaster or warrior with magic support. I like the idea of having portals!
Portals are a way of life! Mesmer is definitely a spellcaster at heart I think, but throwing a greatsword at an enemy sure sounds warrior as hell!
it did make me chuckle!
I use Staff, because I mostly do debuff and condition enhancement for the group, with 3 clones up staff rocks very well
Yeah its pretty good
As a mesmer main I really enjoyed this

thank you I was just about to be all politically correct here too but someone beat me to it
P.S. Virtuosos dont get clones
Me wielding 2 staffs on my mirage condi build watching this vid: 👀
Lovely guide
the coomer outifit XD
If my Mesmer isn't hot, I don't want them xD
I love the purple butterflys,
Mesmer best class, but anet hates us and keeps nerfing 🤣
All I wanna know is: How I know which mesmer I should hit in PvP?? I can never tell the clones from the actual player
That's the point. :P
Well, it may be small comfort, but the clones have less HP ^^°
Mesmer kinda reminds me of dark knight from bdo
Do you have any more of these amazing videos? I could only find this one and the thief one.
Cheers, great job!
I'm hoping to make more soon. Life kinda got in the way, but I want to make one for each Profession!

"You'll want to use a greatsword because you wanna fight from long range".
...what is this game. Have I finally lost my mind?
Go play Thief Daredevil: they go melee with a staff. Or Revenant, using a hammer as ranged XD
Yes, but.... will there be explosions?
Of course!!! And some Implosions if you're kucky 😉
@@AshenWingzGaming is mesmer a good class
@@michelle2011995 I think so

I am an ele main i am trying out mesmer for now let me tell u this I am 'mesmer'ized by greatswords and the low APM 😅
Tbh Staff mirage in open world is so broken. You just shit damage while being immune to damage like 60% of the time.

Are they any good in PVE? I always assumed Mesmer to be a PVP only class
I would say they do very well in PvE. Especially with utility skill to summon a clone that taunts all creatures.

all of mesmers stuff is in the mind of their enemies its not real just hallucinations
Very good intro. Other intros are lame and long.
What set is that transmog?
Looks like the winged set.
