Johnny Guitar Watson was one of the greatest musicians and showmen ever. I remember reading how he saw T-Bone Walker walk around playing with a 50 feet cord so he decided to get a 100 feet cord and enter from behind the audience. He also taught the great Etta James how to phrase when she sang. If you listen to Etta’s early Chess stuff and listen to his early songs like “The Eagle is Back” you can hear the similarities in they way they sing.

Wa Wa Watson the true Legend, Icon, and pioneer in the '60s, '70s, & '80s electric guitarists!!!!
Wow. You must be a true fan. 👍🏾
Love a good historian ❤

This stuff is history and it should be taught in schools. The impact that black musicians had on America's modern cultural fabric is by definition fundamental. But their role is overlooked or outright denied.
I mean this is a huge piece of where modern American culture comes from but we don't teach people that. We're not taught where we come from.
