If anyone finds this comment, most of these "tips" are just going to dull or break tools. Most of them won't work at all, and some are downright pointless. Almost all of them can be made better or simply bought for less than 10 dollars. I don't know why this video was recommended to me.
It was recommended to you because the Almighty Algorithm thought you would be competent enough to NOT totally miss the point. None of the things I've see this person do is going to break anything. Just the opposite, in fact. Many times, they have repurposed items that others have discarded, and done so very well. Yanno, I will take one little bit of that back. The only thing that could dull in any of this is drill bits, and it's not that hard to resharpen bits, especially with the correct jig. As for the rest of your complaint, WHY bother with dropping what you're doing, driving who knows how far, in who knows what kind of conditions, wasting hours and money unnecessarily, and THEN finally getting back to work? Especially when you can do something without all of that, save the time and the money and the hassle and the resources AND keep something out of the scrap yard (or trash bin, more like, as careless as many are about recycling), all at the same time! And only a very, very few of the things this person does won't work _for some purposes._ The hone, for example. Would it help you rebuild a motor? No. Would it clean out a piece of metal tubing to help you? Quite possibly, _even if it takes a bit longer._ Besides, most of these are proof-of-concept, anyway, to show what is possible. They can all be tweaked and improved as needed for what is needed at that moment. Oh, and... not everyone believes it's better to spend $10 when it can be made yourself, instead. Not everyone wants to buy stuff from China. 🤣
For every one of those here that have complained (or were intending to), you have totally missed the point. You need to realize first that saying "invention" is likely more of a translational issue. They ARE being _inventive._ Just, not in a "brand new thing" way. This isn't about making something that has never existed before, but about being inventive and making something from stuff already to hand. For example, making something one will rarely use, rather than buying something when one doesn't have to buy it. Or, finding something someone else tossed, and finding ways to use it, repurpose it, or rebuild it. I don't quite understand why some folks just can't grasp that concept. It's not that complicated.
Why? Because they believe in reusing, repairing, and repurposing, rather than wasting time, money, and resources they don't need to waste? Way to TOTALLY miss the point!
Not smart at all and a waste of money. Your tips are more expensive than the tools and hardware items already available in the market. Drills, rivets, clamps and other items are commonly available in every hardware store and also cheap.
Um, what? If you have high quality bits, and know how to sharpen them properly, you don't need to worry about their cost. As well, you've completely missed the point of this channel. It's not about the cost, but about not buying it new when you don't need to. It's not about the availability of an item, but about reusing what others think of as trash. It's also not about any of that you complained about, but about finding ways to do something right NOW rather than driving who knows how far, in who knows what kind of traffic, wasting what could be hours, and then finally being able to get back to work. _Especially_ when it is a completely unnecessary trip and expense! Seriously, way to totally miss the point.
