There is an Allett Dealer in Arizona that's selling Allet mowers at a very good price. If you want to check it out you can use this link - www.productsath...
In Central Indiana where we play so many schools are investing in artificial turf for Varsity fields and leaving the natural fields for JV and below. March and April are so bad here you are fighting cold weather, rain, snow and ice. Artificial has it benefits but never beats a well built and managed natural field - with a good crew to maintain it. The committed crews have their Varsity field as natural and a backup artificial field for JV and bad weather Varsity games. Nice work here Pete, we can use more of you here in Indiana.
Heck, in college in Central Indiana during end of March & into April we would practice in an abandoned grocery store parking lot. In high school we played on fields full of stone and huge lips. Lots of cupchecks and baseballs to the face for our infielders.
artificial turf is horrible, put your hand on it during a warm sunny day.
This is as satisfying as a gravel driveway renovation. I love projects like this where you can stand back when you are finished and just take it all in. The coolest part is the equipment you get to use to do these videos. Thanks, Brother!
Agreed 1000%!!!!
This is so interesting to me, I always wondered how they kept the fields so nice, this explains and shows it all! You do an awesome job of paying attention to the details! I will keep watching and rewatching these videos and content.
Good on ya Pete, talk about a wash, wax and buff. Sheesh! Yep my Tif 419 is bustin' a move now too. It love's the triple 10 and water.
Wowwww!!! Man that's super niceeee!!!
🙌🏻
I've ALWAYS loved grass basepaths. Such a beautiful look.
I would love to see you stripe this field. I bet you could come up with some fantastic designs!
Oh I’d LOVE to mow this!!!
As this field facility maintenance tech. I'm sure we can arrange that. Sure the coach wouldn't mind it at all. 😀
That was very interesting to watch! Especially the slow motion part where you get to see how the machine actually works. It's a good thing you're a perfectionist because really does require that in getting all those edges precise and everything level. Fantastic job Pete!
Great job.. some lucky kids get to play on that field.
Awesome Pete! Outstanding work… love watching these videos of ball fields
Looks great. Can't wait for the Softball Fields!
Top of the line Pete!! Imagine being a kid playing on this type of field.
Thats awesome good job Pete
Imagine if everyone took as much pride in their work as you do. Well done sir.
Great work! Wonderful to see your business growing pal
I have watched for several years. Softballl coach here wanting to up our playing surface, so I'm loving these and can't wait to see the softball fields.
Softball field video should post one night this week sir
Great job. Field looks great.
Really enjoy the ballfields videos takes me back to countless hours coaching boys baseball and girls softball and alot time raking and shoving on those fields .. alsome job Pete as always god bless brother..
Awesome job Pete!
Looks like I'm gonna have to get both!
There’s something so relaxing in watching your videos.
Maybe it’s the green grass, maybe the nature. Don’t know but thanks for providing. ☮️
Pete, you are like inspector gadget with all these attachments and I’m here for it. Good info and love the videos.
You make it look easy Pete. Def a top notch field now. I noticed the canopy on the Ventrac, I’m sure that is helpful in this sun and heat.
Great job Pete, love these restorations!
Thanks!
Lord have mercy, those high school ball players are blessed to play on such a gorgeous field. Are there plans for cutting out grass for the baselines?
No sir they prefer grass baselines
You're an artist on that Ventrac, Pete.
Good gracious that's amazing 👍
Thanks bro!
Looks amazing.
Someday I hope to be as fortunate.
Dang good job, Pete! It was very satisfying watching this! God bless you, your family and your business 🙏!
That field looks good Pete
Looks fantastic Pete! 🔥🔥👍🏼
Beautiful work
I love this content, great video, live the channel, great attention to detail..
You the man Pete!
I had a chuckle on the assessment of the outfield grass. when I was in high school I wish our grounds keeper thought this was rough looking outfield. great work it's awesome to see how something can turn out when some puts in the care time and effort
Yeah I can't tell you how many times I rolled my ankle running in our outfield. Like once a game 😂
Awesome Pete, to God be the glory!
Love the grass!!! 419 is a great grass
A master at your craft sir
If Pete ever starts certifying lawn professionals in my area, I will give up and just pay. Pete is an artist!
Great job, looks great..👏🤙👍 that machine is a big key.. I'm the field maintenance at my old high school, played ball there aswell.. so many issues with puddles an lips.. since I've played there 04 -08.. this year worse with all the rain.. next year will be better
I’ve coached baseball and high school softball for years and would’ve Love to have a field like this to play on AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL ! ❤️👏👏👏
That Ventrac looks like a brand new machine, is it yours or are you just using it for this video?
It’s mine. And the ABI is mine. I buy and pay with my money for all my equipment. I don’t take free stuff cause I feel I can’t be honest about how I feel about it.
You have an incredible talent. Now come renovate my yard lol
Great video Pete. In the last video you said that your company maintains the field. What is your schedule and fertilizer and herbicides? The results speak for themselves.
I use Katana and/or Tribute total for post. My local custom blended granular. Liquids I use is GCF stuff and Cal-Tide and 5-0-5.
I agree that is some mean looking field boy howdy 💥🇺🇸💪
@@shanew7361 shining like a new penny with ZERO filters 😂
@@GCITurf Damn son 😲🤐
Looks awesome
looks like some good Carolina clay! should play better than ANY field i have ever played on as a kid.( i had roots you had to watch out for, lol. and 2 great danes you had to avoid if you hit a homer to get the ball back). GOOD TIMES
Digging the new music.
Wouldn't it be better to do this process in the spring before the season starts?
Not really. Our winters aren’t that harsh. Plus I’ll regrade it for them before the season starts in the spring.
Super P👌🏆
I wanna see that new superduty parked behind the dugout! 👀👀👀
how come no dirt lines to first and third?
Not sure. Guess that’s what they like???
I’ve got some serious machine envy. Definitely no better place to be!
Any connections to Canadian businesses that do as good as you Pete?
What state is this from? Beautiful results! 👍🏼👍🏼
Pete,
How tall are you cutting the Bermuda ?
The players are gonna love the playing conditions when they return. Play Ball!
U the best bro!!!!
Hey Pete quick question
Is it easier to work on an infield that is completely out of clay or an infield with clay only around the bases?
Reword your question please sir. I’m not following you
Ahhhhh. I see. Softball fields mostly are all clay infield. Baseball mostly have grass infield. If I had to pick I’d say the baseball is easier
You have to have a good mix composed of clay sand silt mixture. I have found about 70% clay 20%silt 10% sand to be best atleast for us. The clay helps hold it all together the silt helps maintain some moisture
@@dan776 yep. That’s pretty much what this mix is. Real close to that
Great work. I maintenance clay tennis courts, my courts are now about 40 years old. I care for 50 courts. They need laser leveling and a cap of new materail. That machine looks like the ticket. My slope is 1-20 ft Btw I’m here in Indiana
I call it brick dust, is it the same thing?
Pete, now that all of that clay/sand is down, the infield needs TURFACE field conditioner. It is an aggregate that will help play and will help prevent rainouts and muddy sloppy infields after a rain event.
The kids must have been so damn happy to step foot on this field after you were done. Nothing like a well manicured ball field.
such a great video, respect!
Well done! Thanks for sharing! Could you give us a ball park, no pun intended, range of how much a project like this would cost? Thank you.
Where did you get the sand/clay mix? We resurfaced a couple of our Little League fields this spring and the mixture wasn’t as clean nor did it spread as easy as what you had.
Morgan Sand in High Point NC
Dang! Pete. From the get-go, with that truck load, couldn't they have moved a little bit as they were unloading it and thereby spread it out initially? Now you got to move that whole tall pile. 😳
I’d say you’ve invested your money well with these two machines. Beautiful job. 👍🏻
Man your videos are awesome.
Thank you. I work very hard on the filming and editing. Thanks fir the comment!
You got it. You need to be on a cable network.
@@seedtimeharvestlawncare 😂 they probably not quite that good. LOL
Trust and believe, I've have experience the stage life . And you have what it takes. That's one reason why you have so many subscribers. 👍
I might have missed this but where are the base paths?
They prefer grass base lines
holy shit Pete. beautiful
I can't lie. I need to find my old highschool Rawlings glove. This makes me want to sling a few sliders and fast balls. 😉
Man. Where I grew up playing the infield was literally rock hard ground like a natural concrete that hardened from the rain. If you even thought about sliding, you were out a pair of baseball pants each time 😂 but at least you got to show off your bloodied leg and look tough in front of the gals 😂
Precision
Like a 338 Lapua lol
Yo, Pete!
Yo GEORGE!!! I am headed outside to mow my fescue! It needs a TRM!!! LOL
This dude knows a little something something
how you comment? LOL
First Aussie 😁
Beautiful! That's all I can say
Nice work though. It does look like a shiny new penny
Yup
The Ventrac Is a far heavier machine. The ABI is available with a laser leveling system and is narrower to get thru gates and tight areas since its basically a zero turn mower. The ABI puts your eyeballs looking forward and down at the blade, so there is no guessing about what is happening with the ground engaging tools. However, it does not have a dump bucket! To get that you would have to add a mini-skid. Need to turn a lumpy field into a billiard table? Then the ABI with the Laser is your answer. Need to re-contour? Then start with the mini-skid. Need a slope blade? Now you are talking motor grader or bulldozer. Got a subsoil with hard spots? Now, its scraper time. The Ventrac needs bigger trailers and more room to work. Got projects on double digit slopes? Ventrac.
Wow..!!
making the 1st and 3rd base lines to home plate dirt as well would be nice touch, from the players point of view going from dirt to grass to dirt again feels weird.
Where are the first and third base lines?
Hey Pete, long time subscriber to your TTTF guide and follower of your channel. Great job on this renovation, it really looks first class!
I’m in the materials business myself and we sell a great Infield Mix product out of our Piedmont Sand Company location in Pageland, SC.. It looks very similar to what you used hereLet me know if your ever interested in the material. We sell it to contractors doing field renovations all over the state. Material Sales Co, Brad Ammons
I bet you can make girls softball field look like gold !
I hope you stayed back 200’ Pete
I'm just jealous you use a sand-clay mix. We use that really rocky aggregate that hurts... a lot.
please do my baseball field it’s terrible
I think you found your goosegrass control 😂😂😂
LOL
👍👍👍👍👍😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Careful Pete - mixing that sand with clay will make concrete!!! /sarcasm
Lol
Came for the grass, and still no answers.
What’s your question ?
@GCITurf haha, legit trying to figure out how to level out uneven areas throughout a whole baseball field. The grass part. Figured a drag boom might work, but trying to bid a job for our company and we have no clue where to start with that part.
@@nicholasbraud1986 is the field Bermuda grass?
@@GCITurf no, fescue. Southern California
Also, would Bermuda work better. They want the field shorter and I understand that Bermuda does better. Only question is would the Bermuda takeoff after we thatch the fescue down to 1"?
Came out like shit
