just wanted to say you are a great inspiration for a lot of people that watch you, and the energy you radiate is infectious! Hope 2023 treats you well!
Hey Dave I'm the guy who gave you the the pic of Rik and Ade at the Louth jazz club. The picture sits well in your amp room mate, as I said then, its a small gift for the inspiration and confidence You, and Queenie have given me to keep on practicing and playing. Also a shout back out to Queenie for her letting me have a little noodle on her bass.............THANK YOU
You are fast becoming one of my favourite UA-cam guitar players. Your love and enthusiasm for the instrument is infectious. But, more than anything, the way you champion the affordable and quirky without any headstock snobbery is wonderful. Keep up the great work.
What is your opinion on the 80s early heavy bass besides that it's heavy ? Thank you very much for your time bless you 2s opinion on it. It also has an rocket style adjustable rod. Thank you both for your help love Ken Marshall
For a message on your Red back on the back and grey an black on the front blending in will complete it's journey with you as soon when you're ready Bless you Ken Marshall
Looking at the collection, it occurred to me that having the right instrument for every performance is a kind of art and the pinnacle of professionalism. Well done, Sir!
I’m so pleased I found your channel. I’ve now been plodding through your back videos for what seems like forever and still nowhere near caught up. Your devotion keeps me going. Thanks for all the entertainment. Watching this makes me miss all the guitars I’ve sold on & traded, but sadly space rules now. Keep up the good work, & Happy New Year both.
It is the season of the year of the " collection " videos. I really enjoy yours because it is a lot of Entry Level instruments and really love the stories behind those instruments. I imagine myself making a video of my 3/4 guitars and talking about the instruments that I love. Happy new year to both you guys. This year you started to work with Andertons and it is a big deal to see you both on those videos. Cheers!
There are a few elderly heart attack survivors listening in headphones, exhausted after a week of high-energy dog-sitting, perhaps nodding off after the 30 minute mark...and your awesome shout shorty thereafter, might possibly have been a terrifying wake-up call, for such sad-sods. Just a heads-up for future reference. Sadly, the nurses are not nearly as pretty as Queenie, and worse, none of them play bass...but I survived!!! (had to rewind a bit to see what I missed before 'The Shout'! ;)
You're crazy, you're weird and you know that. How many guitars did you show us? I got lost at about 20.Some brands i've never heard of. Many are absolute treasures. Unbelievable. Your love of music is so great to see. It shows something about your personality that I really like, just like Cici's. You should rent a bigger house with enough space for your guitars and amps, just to have them around and enjoy. Thank you, Mr Dave! All the best for you and your loved ones. Happy new year, if it's not to early. May 23 bring more joy and less stress for all of us.
I wasn't sure about watching this video at first because I thought it was going to be a "Hey look at all these really expensive guitars that I have" so I was pleasantly surprised to see such a wide and varied collection of guitars! I love the tremolo on that last one!! Happy New Year Dave, hope you have a good 2023
Fantastic Collection Dave. Your enthusiasm for the guitars for what they are and how they play rather than for the name on the headstock and what they cost is so refreshing. And I don't feel quite so bad about the size of my collection now. It will be a while before I catch up with you 🙂 All the best for 2023 to you and Queenie .....
Dave, I love all your video's, I'm in awe of your skill. Just saw this pop up in my recommendations. I'm going to enjoy watching this later on tonight ☺️.
Dave, I appreciate your humbled approach to guitars: it’s great if it’s great, not if it’s expensive. When I desire a new guitar, I remember this and realise practice will make the guitar sound better than any upgrades can.
Happy New Year Dave! Just an idea for a video- a short story with the Trio scoring the music ... or maybe more driving/ landscapes to music. Thanks for all the stories and playing this past year
I realise that this is just nit-picking, but I think you mean coil splitting, not tapping? It's a very minor distinction though. Just thought I'd mention it for the less experienced. Happy New year to everyone. 🎉🇦🇺
What a way to end the year 🎉thank for sharing Dave and thanks for another year of videos. Also that Chapman looks a million times better with the natural top 😮
My first guitar was an Audition! It was the height of 80s metal and Santa brought me ... a vintage sunburst Audition 335(ish) thing that was awful - but it got me started and up and away! God bless my mum and dad for that one! The start of a lifelong passion. Happy new year, Dave!
Such an amazing collection, Dave! Thanks for the tour! Also, wanted to thank you again for turning me onto to the Tone Rider City Limits pickups. I had them installed in my Squier Classic Vibe Strat along with some new DiMarzio pots and its sounds EPIC!!!! I can't beieve how great those pickups are!! Happy New Year, man!!!!
Nice one Dave. I feel slightly less guilty about being just into double figures with my collection! Got a Jet Strat and Tele on your recommendation and they are lovely. Hope you have a great 2023. Happy New year Dave and Queenie. ☺👍
My favorite is the '76 Hondo strat, it's magnificent. Cool Nosferatu poster! I remember when you got Oswald #1, nice to see the natural relicing! Thanks for another brilliant guitar collection vid. Happy New Year Dave!
A beautiful collection Mr Dave. I liked the look of the Pro X before, I love it now! Whilst I’m just a millionth of the musician and person you are I do share the feeling with my collection. I love what I’ve got and am happy with what I’ve got. Just to point out a few. There’s the Jet JS300 I bought on the back of your recommendation, brilliant guitar, unbelievable for the price. My Chapman ML1, you have one too and it’s the only guitar we have in common where I got mine first! The last one I’ll mention here for now is priceless to me. I won’t mention the brand, I’ll just say it’s a gold top LP style guitar that was finished and given to me by one of the greatest people to ever walk this earth. Happy new year to you and Queenie. I wish nothing but the best for you all.
I’m excited for the guitar collection vids love em. Thank you for all the content from you cici and John joe I’ve the last year. Happy new year to you all and I hope to see you play in 2023 👍🏻
Killer collection! Hey Dave, I would be interested to hear your opinions on recording gear since you seem like such an honest and straight up guy who's not hung up on legacy brands.
I'm so ADHD today I keep on having to rewind! 😅 Every time you say something about one of your guitars that I didn't know yet my mind starts wandering off into blah blah land and by the time I snap out of it you're already two more guitars into the video... It's going to take me all night this way but time well spent though! I especially love your OsWall... Particularly the second one that was supposed to have fanned frets is totally my kind of guitar without them. A happy accident if you ask me. I love that design and especially combined with the headstock. Probably my favorite of yours aesthetically speaking. Very pleasant to my eyes
Hello! Greetings from Kos, Greece. Love your videos, some of your guitars kick a**. I play professionally as well, love the fact that you are not a "headstock snob". All the best for 2023
Excellent collection from one of coolest and extraordinary guitar player on the tube. Now to go break my 1988 strat out of the case . Keep up thr great work.
What a collection , and based on what I see with your love of your toys , it"s only going to grow ! (start looking into a warehouse) Luv it , thanks for the show !
I really hope when he clicked his fingers and arrives saying "through the miracle of faster than light travel" and he's got Gray's Sports Almanac in the background is not missed by anyone watching this. And I'm pointing it out in case you didn't... (It's from Back to The Future II!)
Everyone needs a fly V in their life and this one’s mine, lol… my favorite comment of yours in the video. Nice collection, far more interesting than my collection. Makes mine seem boring. I too have guitars spread out in different places mostly amps though due to space available at my place is not any room left at the inn. lol… thanks to my brother and my very good friend and drummer Kevin. Those amps and guitars and other pedals and pedal boards have a safe place to reside. And I can go visit them anytime I want. I do need to consolidate though and bring things to a more reasonable quantity. And much less of a foot print. Especially at the two places I don’t reside at. I have managed to ramble on a great deal more than I initially intended. Thanks Dave and Happy New Year, happy new gear…
My wife nearly went into apoplexy when I bought guitar No. 9 last week (I normally have around 6, and only 1 of each type...). I'm going to show her this video to put things in perspective...
Ah, your 'distant storage location' appears to have a railway layout as suspected. ;) I too wonder why you can't say the "V-word", but anyway, I had one of those Hohner western acoustics in the '90s as well. As you say, played really well. I miss it. Really enjoyed this entertaining and interesting tour of your collection! HNY and I'll try to mention the Crowther Hot Cake less in 2023 ;) :)
Amazing collection and so much passion as always. Funnily enough I had the exact same Air guitar when I was 10. Played amazing but I had to trade it in for my first Les Paul. Keep hold of yours mate
I lost count!! did anyone count all of Dave's geetars?! Dave - you are a legend. I thought I had GAS but you have taken it to another strat-(pun!)-ospheric level 😎 (there again you are also a condersidarbly more accomplished player than me!!). Keep up the great work, and Props to Queenie for the great camera work 👍👍
Geez Dave! That's a hell of a collection. I think I counted 26 Strat style fiddles? I don't think I've owned that many guitars in the whole 45 years I've been playing! Circumstances have forced me to sell them off from time to time. I was saddest to sell my 64 Firebird and 64 Bassman amp and cabinet. I currently have 7 guitars (one is for sale) and a Katana Artist amp (plus 3 little practice amps I don't usually count) and I feel guilty that I have that many. But they're all very different. I'm just of two minds, I guess. One loves guitars and the other is a minimalist and they're always fighting each other in my head. I know one good HSS Strat (with a coil split) would give me about 75% of what I want. But sometimes I want to play slide so I need a good P90 guitar and sometimes I want some Les Paul growl and sometimes I want the bite of a Tele and sometimes I just want to sit on my back porch and strum an acoustic. F*** it! They make me happy. And, in the end, that's all that matters. Have a super awesome 2023 Dave!
Is anyone who has ever worked at Andertons a Chapman endorser? Lovely collection of affordable stuff which is a breath of fresh air for these type of videos
Hey Dave and Queenie...Love the vid as usual. Might I suggest you take that Chapman "Tele style" guitar and put some of Nick's Tele pickups in it that you said are the Best Tele pickups!?!? Anyway Happy New year to the both of you and can't wait to go through 2023 with you guys. ✌️🤘
Ok on further thoughts you either need a guitar shop/store or a museum where you can display you’re collection and charge a small entrance fee to veiw the beautiful collection you have amassed. Just thoughts, all that would probably cost un godly amount’s of money and would be unrealistic to support for along time frame. So never mind. lol…
hi dave, nice guitars you have here i started to watch your frusciante tutorials and i have trouble using the thumb for barre chords (high e string muted + pain in my index/hand), do you have a tips for this?
Played a Nash T-52 in Seattle in March and haven’t stopped thinking about it since., amazing playability. Can’t find them in Arizona but would be interested to know how they stack up against the Oswalds.
The mockingbird don’t dive, probably, because of the three inch strap you’re using. For neck-divey guitars try using wider straps and make sure the under sides of them are a bit rough. it seems to help.
What happened to your 2008 Squier Classic Vibe 50 strat that you bought from the pawn shop and posted about 5 years ago... Literally just watched that video, and you seemed to have loved it... I was shocked I didn't see it in your current collection
I’ve got a 70s style 1982 Japanese squire strat with American standard pickups but I want to replace them. What do you reckon are the best sounding strat pickups?
Love the video as always. I only have 4 and I'm selling my yamaha revstar. P90 one. I'm happy with my MIM strat and epiphone les paul standard pro. I'm also a huge bottom fan and so is my 11 year old daughter 🤣
A friend of mine just gave me a MIDI guitar thingy similar to that Yamaha, except it's a Fender and it looks like a Mustang. In fact it even says "Fender Mustang" on the headstock. It's really fun.
I'm kinda surprised that you keep that Yamaha synth guitar considering that you have rhe Mel9! What does this do that you don't get out of a synth pedal?

Ah, time for the old seeth-with-jealousy-over-Dave's-guitar-collection annual tradition. Ok, let's have it, ya bastid!
just wanted to say you are a great inspiration for a lot of people that watch you, and the energy you radiate is infectious! Hope 2023 treats you well!

Thanks for all the entertainment. Watching this makes me miss all the guitars I’ve sold on & traded, but sadly space rules now. Keep up the good work, & Happy New Year both.
What I like about Dave is how much he cherishes budget instruments that a lot of players would turn their noses up at.
1000 years in the future...
The Dave Simpson museum of music, amps and guitars will flourish with limitless patronage 😁👍
😎👍❤🖖

There are a few elderly heart attack survivors listening in headphones, exhausted after a week of high-energy dog-sitting, perhaps nodding off
after the 30 minute mark...and your awesome shout shorty thereafter, might possibly have been a terrifying wake-up call, for such sad-sods.
Just a heads-up for future reference. Sadly, the nurses are not nearly as pretty as Queenie, and worse, none of them play bass...but I survived!!!

I counted 60 guitars, you’re my hero. Wishing you all the tones in 2023.
You're my guitar hero, happy new year!

Really nice guitar collection Dave thanks for the great tour of all your gear!
Love your collection Dave! Hope you have a Good New Years :)
I was going to fit a last minute gig run through in… and then Dave drops this 😎
Dave not sure what you have fallen out with the JHS Vintage brand. Can you illuminate please?
Its a long story.
I’m excited for the guitar collection vids love em. Thank you for all the content from you cici and John joe I’ve the last year. Happy new year to you all and I hope to see you play in 2023 👍🏻

amazing guitars Dave! wish i had half of them lol, anyway where’s the bullet strat? or was it in the video but i missed it 😅
When I first stumbled upon your channel some years ago, I saw the Mr. Flibble hoodie and was like, "You're allright. Subbed."
Happy New Year to you and Queenie and all.
Nice collection Dave! Happy New Year!
Thank you for sharing your guitar collection Dave, I thought I had quite a few until I watched this, I must try harder!!!!
Nice one as always Dave! 🍻
That candle had me cracking up
Excellent collection from one of coolest and extraordinary guitar player on the tube. Now to go break my 1988 strat out of the case . Keep up thr great work.
What a collection , and based on what I see with your love of your toys , it"s only going to grow ! (start looking into a warehouse) Luv it , thanks for the show !
Love that Dave can have a clear out and STILL have to leave guitars in the loft for lack of space!
I really hope when he clicked his fingers and arrives saying "through the miracle of faster than light travel" and he's got Gray's Sports Almanac in the background is not missed by anyone watching this. And I'm pointing it out in case you didn't... (It's from Back to The Future II!)
To make a long story short! Thanks for letting me know what stays and what goes lol. And how astounding the les Paul gold top looks.
What a collection Dave, I recently picked up a 2007 Vintage V6 icon after watching your reviews on it.
Everyone needs a fly V in their life and this one’s mine, lol… my favorite comment of yours in the video. Nice collection, far more interesting than my collection. Makes mine seem boring. 18:35 thats the bass player from Bad News, those guys rocked! I wonder what happened to that Vim Fuego guy?
A few nice bits of wood there Dave. Great show and tell..👍🇦🇺
I wish you the best for 2023 Dave Trio 😎💞💞💞💞🙏👍
You did a nice job on that Pro - X. Will we see it in the future? Enjoyable video Mr Dave. Happy New Year!
That air guitar looks like the one I had when I was a kid. Wish I never got rid of it.
My wife nearly went into apoplexy when I bought guitar No. 9 last week (I normally have around 6, and only 1 of each type...).
I'm going to show her this video to put things in perspective...
Dave ,That’s a epic collection man👍😎
Happy New Year dude ✨️
Hahah, the Oswall xD

HNY Dave, Queenie and John Joe.. thanks for sharing a year of hard work, fun and the trio making steady progress!🙂🎸👍
Nice collection! I see I need to get more Strats!
loving that Dave is a dwarfer, you'll be needing to see the king of the potato people then!
Amazing collection and so much passion as always. Funnily enough I had the exact same Air guitar when I was 10. Played amazing but I had to trade it in for my first Les Paul. Keep hold of yours mate
This is it. Guitars need to have a story to want to own/ buy etc. it’s these stories that keep us going and wanting to play more.
Hi Dave. Have you kept any Revelation guitars? I've been watching you excellent videos on them.
I have my rtl59.
I lost count!! did anyone count all of Dave's geetars?! Dave - you are a legend. I thought I had GAS but you have taken it to another strat-(pun!)-ospheric level 😎 (there again you are also a condersidarbly more accomplished player than me!!). Keep up the great work, and Props to Queenie for the great camera work 👍👍
Hey Dave I am going to buy an MG100hdfx soon, I know it's your favourite amp, is it a lot different from a boss katana? Happy last day of 2022!
Dave you beauty. Question. Why can't we say Vintage when speaking about the Peter Green Les Paul? Also...great video!
Pretty cool! There are way worse way to spend one's money, guitars, especially one's with which you've bonded, are treasures!
So never mind. lol…
Couldn’t wait for this one 👍🏼
The Chapman ML3 Pro Traditional in that black is my dream T type guitar. Absolutely beautiful!
hi dave, nice guitars you have here
i started to watch your frusciante tutorials and i have trouble using the thumb for barre chords (high e string muted + pain in my index/hand), do you have a tips for this?
Dave have you ever played a Nash guitar? I’ve heard great things about them and alot of pros use and swear by them
I haven’t no. I’ve seen them though.
Played a Nash T-52 in Seattle in March and haven’t stopped thinking about it since., amazing playability. Can’t find them in Arizona but would be interested to know how they stack up against the Oswalds.
Dave, did you keep any of your Revelation guitars? I had one and regret selling it.
I have my rtl59
Leave me for dead I’ve only 6 guitars with another on lay buy happy new year Dave
I gave it away.
@@thedavesimpson then someone has appeared to have won Lotto... Dreams do come true it seems...
I’ve got a 70s style 1982 Japanese squire strat with American standard pickups but I want to replace them. What do you reckon are the best sounding strat pickups?
There’s alot but I recommend tex mex or tone rider city limits.
I think it goes without saying that Dave Simpson loves guitars...❤❤❤
Dave! Why are you not mentioning the Vintage brand? Just curious! Have I missed something? Collection to dream of!
I get a video done on why in the future.
@@thedavesimpson Please do Dave! If it’s a brand there’s reasons to avoid it would be great to know, all the best for 2023!
Saint Dave strikes again !
Love the video as always. I only have 4 and I'm selling my yamaha revstar. P90 one. I'm happy with my MIM strat and epiphone les paul standard pro. I'm also a huge bottom fan and so is my 11 year old daughter 🤣
What happened to your harley benton guitars?
Sold or given away.
No P90 pickup guitars? Or did I miss one?
I’ve rectified this. :)
A friend of mine just gave me a MIDI guitar thingy similar to that Yamaha, except it's a Fender and it looks like a Mustang. In fact it even says "Fender Mustang" on the headstock. It's really fun.
If you were only allowed to keep one of your electric guitars... Which one would be the one...?
My white strat. :)
I'm kinda surprised that you keep that Yamaha synth guitar considering that you have rhe Mel9! What does this do that you don't get out of a synth pedal?
