To be able to raise your hands at the end of a TT, you need to be the last to start the TT, the TT to not be part of a GC and still see you have a comfortable margin... So which only can happen if it's a TT championship and you are the returning champ. So basically you need to win an international TT championship twice in a row with more than 10s. Not a lot of people have done it indeed
What an era we are in. Pogacar and Evenepoel somehow both have once-in-a-generation palmares (variously grand tours, monuments, olympic medals, other one day races and TTs), and the same peleton includes Roglic (5 grand tours and a monument) and MvdP (world champs, multiple monuments). Is it just the case that the wins are divided across less riders these days?
I can think of one example Dan of celebrating to early on a TT, when i am cycling to the office in the rain, i get there and celebrate that i have arrived, then realise i am now at work and have indeed lost.
I hope to get to see Niewiadoma race one last time, even if it is once again on TV. She is world class epitomized, the class, the determination, the grit, the knowing when to step down. Her retirement, while so well deserved, marks a new era in Women’s Cycling
Jay Vine was stationary for 35 seconds and was 30 sec down on 3rd. This doesn't include coming back up to speed. Vollering said the descent was pretty treacherous and tricky at top speed. Grace Brown is just a legend.
The most embarrassing “false celebration” ever was that Women’s Olympic road race when the Dutch forgot/missed the fact that another rider was up the road.
Great coverage as usual. Thanks Dan. What's going on with Grace Brown's shoes? They seem to extend way past her heel. Were her shoes too big or is this a new design with a sneaky fairing at the back? Asking for a friend. Lol.
Ganna embarrassing Primoz was something to note as well. Remco with that V12 engine is amazing...congrats for the double double (going basketball line). Grace Brown retirement timing makes you wish she could just show off that rainbow 🌈 at least once in 2025, she had a great cycling career. Sad for Jay Vine. Luck is not on his side. This lad had a podium potential in this TT. Merlier is the best sprinter as we speak. The stats are backing that.
As Belgian,i must say that Tim is most of time a too nice for a battle sprint but he’s clearly faster than Philipsen, with is lead out it’s easier to win,but both are great and that’s good for both an to be Belgian😂
I think Laurent Fignon celebrated a little at the end of Stage 20 in the TdF 1989. Interestingly, the TdF has never again run a decisive last stage (from a GC perspective), such was the French fallout from Fignon's loss (in their Bi-Centennial Year).
Wondering - does FloBikes have the rights to the Worlds in the US? I have a Max BR Sports subscription though looking online I'm not seeing that Max BR Sports has the rights in the US. Can someone confirm how to watch World's Road Race championships in US? TIA
David Millar celebrated a bit early by slowing up before the official line at the TT you recorded a couple of weeks back. It was perhaps not quite at the same level as the worlds
Could it be possible Jay Vyne was going for a negative Split, and actually be silver or gold worthy, he fell realy badly, I do not see how far from the line, without any calculations, It is usually more than a minute lost for heavy falls in downhills of a time trails. Gana did the second part slightly faster, Jay could might have been doing it even more. As always, Great debrief, good pictures ! thx Dan & the team.

@@KoenStrobbe-fv5us Indeed, here we go the again ... @everythingexplored5233 it's a double for Grace Brown and a double for Remco ... but haters will be always be haters I guess ...
Then again… Remco’s using a Shimano power meter. Considering their liberal relationship with accuracy, riding by feel is just so much more precise. At the end of the day, no (Shimano) power meter must have helped his performance.
Zwifter Vine would’ve not crashed if it wasn’t for a very bad course. Loads of potholes and “unsmooth” surfaces on descents that are too steep for any TT course. Shame on UCI and particularly it’s “president” Lapartient. Shame. Pro riders don’t deserve this.
The video gets quite boring, when you show so little footage of the actual racing. Not that I don't like to look at Dan! I mean, this is the racing show, show us the racing!
@@gcnracing so I thought! Just put it out there explicitly? It would be cool if you had some sort of deal that allowed you to show just highlights of races:)
It’s actually the opposite. You’re way more likely to click if the winners are hidden. That’s the way it works. Also what a stupid problem to have. If you’re that concerned, you should be aware that your algorithm is going to push recent cycling videos and know you’re risking spoilers by opening this app. Honestly you’ve really gotta go outside, man.
@@BabyBowDingBall "You’re way more likely to click if the winners are hidden." Yes, that's precisely my point. I don't view the UA-cam "home" screen. I don't get fed anything by the algorithm. Just don't pedal backwards.
The orange-green metallic colour bike of Tarling looked way cooler!!!

Thank you Dan , and crew .
Remco had a big screen in front of him with the times and position displayed on it. That’s why he could cheer👍🏻

Remco could see the times on the big screen behind the finish line. Thats why he was confident enough to celebrate :)

Dutch cycling prowess is inverse to their smarts.

Milan, Philippsen and then Merlier for me These are clear of the Rest

Too early to celebrate It didn't happen yet, but it will certainly happen to Remco Evenepol .
