I just bought an EMTB from another brand and your assessment of the hard work and exercise is spot on. Nice video and nice ride, thank you.
Awesome!
Great review 💪🏽 i thought for a quick second that was LT. Dangle from reno 911 😂 you rock dude 🤟🏽
Thanks for watching!
😂
Nice riding. Very rocky in spots there. I ride north of Atlanta. Very hilly and foothills mountains. I ride an e-bike a Trek Rail I purchased march 2022. I love it I’m an older rider 67. It is a great workout upper and cardio. I find if not under too much load if i shift one gear at a time it’s fine. I ride mostly trail and bosch has A eMTB mode which i love (auto). Keep on riding. My last bike was a canyon strive.
Thanks Wes! That’s what I love about these Emtb. It’s allowing people of all ages to still have the ability to hit the trails! Time is always an issue with me. That’s kinda why I been riding my Ebike more. Keep riding man!
Congrats on the bike! I'm eagerly waiting for my CF9 that just shipped, so thanks for alleviating a bit of my misery :)
That "click" you're referring to at 22:10 is the downside of a low engagement hub. It causes a few degrees of play in your cranks before the drivetrain engages, making that "thunk" when the hub re-engages. Nothing wrong or any cause for concern, it's just a minor annoyance if you've ever ridden a high engagement rear hub :)
I also thought it was my chain and the regular drivetrain making that click until I rode the bike more than once. Then you can clearly notice the engage and disengage mech in the motor making that noise/ feelable click in the front of the motor. It’s just the motor disengaging internally. Totally normal and not really noticeable non the less.
Did u get it? I m waiting for the same. they only had 720 battery. The rattling noise had me worried...
@@mcbewild Yeah, I actually didn't notice the subtle click before the drivetrain engaged the first time around I saw the video, so I got hooked on the sound of the hub. It's definitely there for you, I've not experienced the same on mine though. But I haven't really been listening too carefully for it :) But I'm certain you are correct
Yeah, I got it a month ahead of schedule actually, I was contemplating going for the 720wh battery myself, solely because of the weight. But I settled on the 900wh in the end. I ordered my CF9 a few hours after the release so everything was in stock at the time :) I've thrown on a wireless reverb dropper for the full axs cockpit and upgraded the ratchets in the dt swiss 370 hub so far to 54t. I'm extremely happy so far, but it's quite weighty compared to the Orbea Rise carbon I completely destroyed last year lol, around 24,7kgs with the 900wh I believe.
@@ombra306 The only real gripe I have with the bike so far, is the handlebar/stem combo it ships with. It's not the complete onepiece mold as the top spec, but the controller cable for the modes is still internally routed through a drilled hole under the handlebar. So you'll need to come up with another solution should you wish to change the stem to a shorter one, as the hole is drilled very far back, forcing you to roll the bars back a LOT on most stems. The motor rattle it definitely there on mine during descents when coasting, but you tune it out very fast once you start focusing on the trail. At least I did. Congrats on your new bike! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I am :)
i love this video i hope i can buy me this bike i love the silence and peace that with my dog omg how beautiful
I just ordered one of these, in the black and grey. Should be here Thu.
Many years on dirtbikes, a lifetime.....and a lot of mt bike riding, never been on an E bike.
Should be a blast!
It totally is a blast man! Your def gonna have some fast stealth fun out there! Still loving mine and losing weight doing it which is the amazing part.
awaiting mine to arrive May 18th... woohooo... I have never spent this much on a bike, but oh well..
Hi,
how do you find the rattling noise from the EP8 motor? A lot of people report rattling noise when going downhill and not pedalling over rough terrain, I have tested one bike with EP8 and it was terrible, it sounded like something was broken, it was so loud, but in your video, I can hear only a little bit of rattle. What's your take on this?
Not really noticeable unless your listening for it. It’s basically the sound of chain slap just not as loud and this bike dosnt really have chain slap so it’s kinda more of a quiet bike than my regular enduro bike. It’s def just an internal sound in the motor slapping back and forth.
@@mcbewild Thanks, I bought Specialized Turbo Levo in the end, the motor is dead silent up and down. The Canyon did not even have the 900Wh battery available and when my friend showed up with a brand new broken Torque frame, decision was made.
Any issues with the battery charge port cover???
my cf8 came today great bike
Been riding mine every day since I got it last week! Love it!
ohh very cool how is it? and did you remove the sticky grease and replace it for other less dust and sand attracting grease for the chain ? any tips?
So in boost or trail mode, wouldnt you just back off pedal pressure to shift and not hurt the drivetrain?
I dunno, never been on one.
Yea that’s what I been doing and it has been helping a lot! A lot less hard shifting noises when you use that method. I did however have my bike all readjusted and gone over after getting back from my cross country trip. My shop guy told me how loose the chain was on the bike and that had been the main issue for drivetrain noise. He said for e-bikes you kinda wanna have the chain as tight as you can for it to shift smoother. Just a recommendation for ya. I don’t have any issues with that noise anymore!
@@mcbewild Ive ridden pedal bikes for ever, and the Di2 on my roadbike will shift going uphill no matter what, Im sure cranking hard and shifting isnt good for it....I try to just back off pedal pressure for a split second when shifting....I guess on e bike the motor pulls for a small moment when pedal pressure is let off.
can i drive the S Modell with 5‘6 and a inner leg length 30“. Supernatant height from Bike is 31,5“…
You could get away with it. Sounds like your right in between and it could go both ways.
hey how tall are you
bc iam 181 and i ordered an L do you think this is ok or to big
One of my first thoughts was “ looks like he’s riding in Pa “. What county is this ?
Which size is the Frame? Greetings from Germany:)
Medium frame. Cheers!
Motor is so loud. Why? Other Brand with ep8 motor is nice and quiet.
Awsome bike, looking to order one in the same color ✌👌 would you mind measuring the stack height of the stem(how high the stearer tube clamping part is)?
Are there 20mm of spacers under the stem?
I am wondering if I could install a 9point8 slackr headset.
I just measured to be certain. I got 15.2mm of spacers under and a 5 mm spacer on top of the 41.7mm tall stem. The actual fork stem sits flush with the top of the stem clamp of that helps.
@@mcbewild That's perfect bro 👌👌👌 thanks alot. You got some great trails there in Pennsylvania...enjoy the Spectral ⚡🤟😉
how do these size up? what size are you riding?
I’m riding a medium. I’m 5’8 180# My last regular bike I bought was a medium and it felt small to me. And the bike before that was a large and it felt a little too big. But this 22 canyon spectral on feels like a a size between the Med and large. It fits me perfect. I’ve heard canyon sizes seem to run a little big.
@@mcbewild I’m 5ft11 and I’ve ordered a large where as I usually ride a medium.. hopefully I’ve made the right choice!
@@autobling2012 Keep me an update on that as im 5ft11 and stuck between choosing M or L!
@@jenssveaass5783 i didnt end up getting the bike im afraid..i bought a nukeproof megawatt in large..i usually ride a scott genius in a medium

In which mode did you ride?
I usually ride in trail, eco when im trying to get more exercise and get my heart rate higher. Boost is just too much I think...unless your going for a total no work ride..lol
Does it have the new UDH?
I just got mine a few weeks ago and it does come with UDH
wow very cool the first real review! what kind of tyres would you recommend? And how is the bike doing? And how do you clean it after the ride?
I will be putting a washing video out soon but, in the mean time there are lots from the Emtb channel. It’s been holding up and riding very nice since i got it all dialed in with the suspension. Nice and supple, it takes up most of the small and big bumps. A little louder? Than my rockshox lyric.. maybe it’s in my head. But the tires that came on this was the front 2.5 maxxis assigai. It got punctures easily and constantly slid out all over the trail in every condition and I can’t recommend that crappy tire to anyone other than a park rat. I just replaced it with a maxxis 2.6 dhf which should have been on it to begin with. And I still have the stock rear which is a maxxis DHR II. The one on the bike says it’s got the maxerra3c and double sidewall but there IS a difference between the stock and the new same one I ordered. For some reason the casing isn’t the same and yet it should be. There must be a casing difference between the yellow maxxis logo’d tire and the white logo’d tire.
@@mcbewild ok thanks a lot for your reply! look forward to any new videos
Is this not a CF9. The colours of the CF8 are different.
No it’s not a cf9. Originally from all the specs provided before release, the cf8 was suppose to be in green vastness and black only and the cf9 was suppose to be fitted with this frame color. I got the release email and it was only black and this color to choose from. Not sure if there were production/shipping issues with the green frames or what but this is all I know lol. Still spec’d just as a cf8 would be as well.
@@mcbewild o I see. The blue is nice but I think I would prefer the green. How does the suspension feel on the CF8?
how fast does this bike go in mph?
20 or 21mph in the US. But your not constantly at that speed. You have to work the bike up to it. It’s not a dirt bike and it doesn’t have a throttle. It doesn’t spin out and rip up the trails like many people still believe. It’s only a matter of time before more of the world gets educated to their proper riding capabilities and allow them on more trails.
@@mcbewild ah i see, i didn’t think about those bikes ripping up the trails like that, apparently class 3 e bikes aren’t allowed on there which totally makes sense thanks for the reply bro
@@mcbewild so would you say this bike is fun to use still when you’re not riding on rough terrain?
@@GUY-on-Earth yeah totally! I took it out a couple times already rolling 20 plus miles from town to town. My buddy was riding his radrunner ebike. It was super comfy and kept up without a prob. Batter was lasting a lot longer than his too. Lol
@@mcbewild that’s awesome to hear! i’m really thinking about buying this over a hardtail, are those tires stock or is that a 27.5 inch rear tire?
2:36 dude back of the power whilst changing gear the way your crunching through them gear changes makes me cringe. lovely bike tho :)
Yea it took prob 150 miles to break in and for the drivetrain to not do that
You’re riding an 8 grand bike and you’re wearing jorts, come on man
