    Nice riding. Very rocky in spots there. I ride north of Atlanta. Very hilly and foothills mountains. I ride an e-bike a Trek Rail I purchased march 2022. I love it I’m an older rider 67. It is a great workout upper and cardio. I find if not under too much load if i shift one gear at a time it’s fine. I ride mostly trail and bosch has A eMTB mode which i love (auto). Keep on riding. My last bike was a canyon strive.

      Thanks Wes! That’s what I love about these Emtb. It’s allowing people of all ages to still have the ability to hit the trails! Time is always an issue with me. That’s kinda why I been riding my Ebike more. Keep riding man!

    Congrats on the bike! I'm eagerly waiting for my CF9 that just shipped, so thanks for alleviating a bit of my misery :)
    That "click" you're referring to at 22:10 is the downside of a low engagement hub. It causes a few degrees of play in your cranks before the drivetrain engages, making that "thunk" when the hub re-engages. Nothing wrong or any cause for concern, it's just a minor annoyance if you've ever ridden a high engagement rear hub :)

    • @mcbewild
      @mcbewild  2 роки тому +1

      I also thought it was my chain and the regular drivetrain making that click until I rode the bike more than once. Then you can clearly notice the engage and disengage mech in the motor making that noise/ feelable click in the front of the motor. It’s just the motor disengaging internally. Totally normal and not really noticeable non the less.

    • @ombra306
      @ombra306 2 роки тому

      Did u get it? I m waiting for the same. they only had 720 battery. The rattling noise had me worried...

    • @YTDSS
      @YTDSS 2 роки тому

      @@mcbewild Yeah, I actually didn't notice the subtle click before the drivetrain engaged the first time around I saw the video, so I got hooked on the sound of the hub. It's definitely there for you, I've not experienced the same on mine though. But I haven't really been listening too carefully for it :) But I'm certain you are correct

    • @YTDSS
      @YTDSS 2 роки тому

      Yeah, I got it a month ahead of schedule actually, I was contemplating going for the 720wh battery myself, solely because of the weight. But I settled on the 900wh in the end. I ordered my CF9 a few hours after the release so everything was in stock at the time :) I've thrown on a wireless reverb dropper for the full axs cockpit and upgraded the ratchets in the dt swiss 370 hub so far to 54t. I'm extremely happy so far, but it's quite weighty compared to the Orbea Rise carbon I completely destroyed last year lol, around 24,7kgs with the 900wh I believe.

    • @YTDSS
      @YTDSS 2 роки тому

      @@ombra306 The only real gripe I have with the bike so far, is the handlebar/stem combo it ships with. It's not the complete onepiece mold as the top spec, but the controller cable for the modes is still internally routed through a drilled hole under the handlebar. So you'll need to come up with another solution should you wish to change the stem to a shorter one, as the hole is drilled very far back, forcing you to roll the bars back a LOT on most stems. The motor rattle it definitely there on mine during descents when coasting, but you tune it out very fast once you start focusing on the trail. At least I did. Congrats on your new bike! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I am :)

    Hi,
    how do you find the rattling noise from the EP8 motor? A lot of people report rattling noise when going downhill and not pedalling over rough terrain, I have tested one bike with EP8 and it was terrible, it sounded like something was broken, it was so loud, but in your video, I can hear only a little bit of rattle. What's your take on this?

    • @mcbewild
      @mcbewild  2 роки тому +1

      Not really noticeable unless your listening for it. It’s basically the sound of chain slap just not as loud and this bike dosnt really have chain slap so it’s kinda more of a quiet bike than my regular enduro bike. It’s def just an internal sound in the motor slapping back and forth.

      @@mcbewild Thanks, I bought Specialized Turbo Levo in the end, the motor is dead silent up and down. The Canyon did not even have the 900Wh battery available and when my friend showed up with a brand new broken Torque frame, decision was made.

    So in boost or trail mode, wouldnt you just back off pedal pressure to shift and not hurt the drivetrain?
    I dunno, never been on one.

    • @mcbewild
      @mcbewild  Рік тому +2

      Yea that’s what I been doing and it has been helping a lot! A lot less hard shifting noises when you use that method. I did however have my bike all readjusted and gone over after getting back from my cross country trip. My shop guy told me how loose the chain was on the bike and that had been the main issue for drivetrain noise. He said for e-bikes you kinda wanna have the chain as tight as you can for it to shift smoother. Just a recommendation for ya. I don’t have any issues with that noise anymore!

      @@mcbewild Ive ridden pedal bikes for ever, and the Di2 on my roadbike will shift going uphill no matter what, Im sure cranking hard and shifting isnt good for it....I try to just back off pedal pressure for a split second when shifting....I guess on e bike the motor pulls for a small moment when pedal pressure is let off.

    Are there 20mm of spacers under the stem?

      I just measured to be certain. I got 15.2mm of spacers under and a 5 mm spacer on top of the 41.7mm tall stem. The actual fork stem sits flush with the top of the stem clamp of that helps.

    • @mcbewild
      @mcbewild  2 роки тому +1

      I will be putting a washing video out soon but, in the mean time there are lots from the Emtb channel. It’s been holding up and riding very nice since i got it all dialed in with the suspension. Nice and supple, it takes up most of the small and big bumps. A little louder? Than my rockshox lyric.. maybe it’s in my head. But the tires that came on this was the front 2.5 maxxis assigai. It got punctures easily and constantly slid out all over the trail in every condition and I can’t recommend that crappy tire to anyone other than a park rat. I just replaced it with a maxxis 2.6 dhf which should have been on it to begin with. And I still have the stock rear which is a maxxis DHR II. The one on the bike says it’s got the maxerra3c and double sidewall but there IS a difference between the stock and the new same one I ordered. For some reason the casing isn’t the same and yet it should be. There must be a casing difference between the yellow maxxis logo’d tire and the white logo’d tire.

      No it’s not a cf9. Originally from all the specs provided before release, the cf8 was suppose to be in green vastness and black only and the cf9 was suppose to be fitted with this frame color. I got the release email and it was only black and this color to choose from. Not sure if there were production/shipping issues with the green frames or what but this is all I know lol. • @mcbewild

      20 or 21mph in the US. But your not constantly at that speed. You have to work the bike up to it. It’s not a dirt bike and it doesn’t have a throttle.
