If you're talking about Sonny barging in and grabbing Sandy, I believe so. They were obviously shooting for Danny and Cha-Cha to bring it home, being that in the original, Danny goes to the dance with Cha-Cha, not Sandy.
@@Sal_Sal27 Most of the group, except for Frenchy, didn't exactly approve of Sandy, thinking she was too pure for Danny. Marty did start to come around a bit during the slumber party, though. And even Rizzo started to think a bit better of her near the end.

You'll see Frenchy, Jan and some of the girls look confused as to why Danny all of sudden is dancing with Cha Cha. Some of the taller dancers in the front get a bit wild with their dances. And when Cha Cha has her skirt up, one of the guys really goes in for a better look. The guy carrying Vi, the assistant to Principal McGee, almost suffocates under her dress while carrying her. The director told the cast and extras to come up with their own story. As long as it didn't interfere with the big story. That's why at the end, some of the extras with bigger parts with no dialogue were seen walking hand in hand with their yearbooks at the end.
