- Mason Ho drives to Peniche to try out the famous Super Tubes for a couple waves. He then heads to one of Portugals most deadliest waves called The Cave for a solo session. It was his first time trying this spot so it was cool watching him figure it out.

as someone who has to buy their own boards, every bump & scratch on the way down the rope gave me anxiety.. 😆
To look at a spot like this you've never surfed and go paddle out alone when it's heaving. Legend

40 years ago I camped on the shore out front of that wave. In a month travelling from Vigo to Lagos I saw only a handful of other surfers. Foi boa.
When you parked on top of cave, you could have gone down a "normal" pathway if you went a bit left and then you would have seen stone stairs. This path doesnt have a rope but it gives you space to walk down

I feel your pain on that Pocket Rocket. I snapped the nose off my 6’0” Pocket Rocket on the backwash. Bought another one in Norway in Carbon Wrap was not as good so order another 6’0”. Came back to Florida and bought a 5’11”. And this last month was brutal on me. Bought a 6’0” Sub-driver week later snapped the nose. Bought two of Kholoe’s boards and third day some old dude on a longboard let his board go and crushed my fin box. On the plus side got my Sub Driver and Kholoe boards fix, but while they were being fix I was riding your model the Voodoo child. Freaking love that board.

I moved to Idaho from SoCal, so I'm not surfing as much, but skating mountain biking, and snowboarding like crazy. Thanks for making these vids to keep my happy my friend. Headed back home to SD in November, so lots of surfing on the docket. Iget to teach music for a great living online and can teach from anywhere, so I guess life is pretty good. Keep on ripping and smiling. :)

aww man popped the one sled at 2min in...fickle beach break. good thing ya had back up. what about some more carbon wrapping on certain boards for certain days/waves? usually the trade-off kinda sucks. stiff chippy boards just don’t drive out of barrels easy for some reason. had a toughLite ShaneDorian III JC (6’3x18.22 or so) found lots of barrels yet not many exits in the NJrz winters years ago...

@@Whitehorseandryder Because at Cave you are surfing below reef level, one mistake has serious consequences when big. Fast, hollow and very shallow slab, some surfers had very bad memories of this break, with broken back and serious injuries.
