Today we are going to visit some of the most exciting ones. First of all, we’ll drop in on some remarkable systems within 50 light years from the Earth. After that we’ll set out to see Westerlund 1, which will be followed by a tour round the most horrifying planets known to science today.
After leaving the Milky Way we’ll check out several unusual galaxies. This detour will be followed by a visit to practically the very edge of the universe to a remote microquasar dubbed SS 433.

Kosmo, where do you get your graphics/visuals from? Space engine? Or do you create your own?
I am a young astron0ma
I WILL WATCH THIS AS SOON AS IM FINISHED. THIS LOOKS AMAZING 😭😭
Really good
I have no plans on going to space cause these videos take me there
I remember, as a kid in the 80's having pretty much 1 channel out of 13 that aired maybe 2 or 3 science shows. So I'd dig through the TV Guide and find Nova or Cosmos - note the time and wait. And if for whatever reason I missed it, I'd have to hope they would air the same episode again at some point during the week. Now? I can just click on a link and get 1+ hours of fantastic science documentary with stunning visuals whenever/wherever and however I want. Amazing...
*edit: I didn't actually get all 13 channels. I got 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13.
I'm right there with ya
Exactly. I'd be the manual remote control for big brother. Let's him practice giving orders lol
I was an 80s kid in Ireland and all we had were 2 channels to mess around with 😂
I was telling my nephews (they're 7 and 8 years old) how in the late 80's when I was their age, we only had like 5 TV channels because we were too poor to have cable most of my childhood. They seemed confused and kinda horrified. Then my nephew says "yeah but you could just watch Netflix or UA-cam". I just shook my head and walked away.
Carl had high hopes
I love space documentaries because they are brilliantly written, the opening monologue is always the best, especially right b4 bed, very calming, tranquil and peaceful
Yes! Was just wondering when you were going to upload next. Right when I needed it most, thanks kosmo

Welcome
The animation, editing and knowledge gained along with the narrators voice makes Kosmo the best
Just Imagine how many times we have repeated.
You do realise the narration is AI ?
@@HarryMollyNut shut up??!
Love how you organize these videos like a journey with an intro summary. Great way of doing things
Yes finally, literally waiting on youtube for the notification for my weekly dose of Kosmo. Video just started but its going to be great and educational. Thanks again Kosmo.

PixieMillie are you in love with space?
Love you Kosmo!!! TY FOR THE VIDEO!!
Thank you very much for updating on the lovely, mysterious Universe.
Very high standard 🎖
Who needs cruise ships? This is space touring at its best! How about an interstellar buffet of treats from alien worlds?
Incredible production.
Oof right as i was getting ready to fall asleep. Have a great night everyone and let’s start this new week strong !

Uranus
Venus
At about 17 minutes in, narration mentions a star of 1.1 solar masses will go supernova? Wont it just expand into a planetary nebula leaving behind a white dwarf? Earlier it was said that a blue star almost 2x our star's mass will supernova and leave behind a white dwarf. Won't a supernova leave behind a neutron star?
if its the mass of our sun white dwarf, if its the mass of 100~ suns neutron star, if its the mass of 1000+ suns black hole
He was incorrect in the video. A star needs to be 8-12 times the mass of the sun to go supernova. Arcturus isn’t big enough at only 10% more mass than the sun. And when a star does go supernova they either turn into neutron stars or black holes. Not a white dwarf.
yeah don’t forget that the narrator is just some dude who reads someone’s else’s script (most likely). so yeah that whole thing about our sun being able to go “supernova” kinda confirmed to me that this dude has no idea what he’s talking about and just reads from a script lolz
The Chandra limit is 4x the solar mass to super nova- anything less will just shed into planetary nebula leaving a white dwarf unless it has a companion to siphon material from onto the White dwarf then it will type 2 into a planetary mist. Brightest one

Very very interesting sir Kosmo admin! So satistfy and observasi. Thanks very much!!!!
Thank you for the great videos you produce.
Very enjoyable, thank you for your efforts. 👍👍👍
Nobody:
Kosmo: "of that of the earth"
"of that of the sun"
😁
This is so much better than laser Floyd! And no munchies to boot!
That Poltergeist planet is the most interesting to me, not to mention so are pulsars. Remnants of dead planets form a new one that will exist in that system for trillions of years.
Your videos are awesome man! It is always a pleasure watching them. Thank you buddy. :)
"a hot sub dwarf..." sounds kinky. 56:06
I thought so, too)) And, also, sometimes stars are 'young and hot')))
Typical humans
Thank you so much for that amazing and wonderful journey 🙏🤩
Kosmo you are great! Exceptional quality documentairy. 👌
I'm sorry, but, I'm a Space Cadet! I love this astronomical stuff! Thank you for showing this.
I don't get it, why are you being 'Sorry'. [DiowE]
@@DiowE Back when I was a kid, say 40 -45 years ago, the term was an insult for a person with more space than brains in their head. I know I have loved space since I was "knee high to a grasshopper" so I took it as a compliment and was teased and laughed at for it. So I've said sorry to lessen the tension and sometimes it actually worked! Being nice is easy, I have to work hard to be and and I am lazy.
@@paulvamos7319 Understood, so 'space cadet' was an insult in past just like word 'nerd', but in today's world both words are embraced and taken as a compliment. Wow.
On the other hand, few decades ago, words like 'Negro', 'Nigger' were assumed harmless but in today's world they are considered pretty explosive words.
Language evolve with human society. Agree or not? [DiowE]
@@DiowE I guess yeah
@@DiowE but yeah a lot of people get fiery when I say Negro I am African and Caucasian
Just a quick correction at 16:45. You say Arcturis will go supernova relatively soon in astronomical terms, yet, at 90% the mass of the sun, Arcturis will not go Supernova.
You seem to be aware of this as you mention it simply shedding its outer layers to become a planetary nebula, yet the worst supernova was nonetheless mentioned in such a way as to expect a singular massive explosive event. Just wanted to point that out so your information is as accurate as possible.
Everything else is fantastic.
Supernovas don’t turn into white dwarfs also.
I love you. I'm so happy I've found your channels Kosmos. You're fantastic. Thank you
OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTARY AS ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!
Yay I was waiting for this!
"The Science of Dreams: Unlocking the Secrets of Our Subconscious" - Exploring the fascinating realm of dreams, discussing their purpose, the science behind them, and what they reveal about our subconscious minds
Space physics is becoming more tantalizing and mysterious.
If H.G. Wells or Jules Verne were born into our generation, what stories would they have written, knowing what we know now?
This documentaries are so interesting and amazing. Thank you⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
33:35 - Kepler 70b - "The celestial object's orbital period is 345 minutes. In other words a day here is less than six hours long."
I believe you meant to say "a YEAR here is less than six hours long", otherwise you would be talking about rotational period, but this object probably doesn't have days since it would almost certainly be tidally locked with one side being forever in daylight and the other in perpetual night.
I noticed other things that were in accurate as well. Arcturus Star won’t go supernova into a white dwarf. It’s not massive enough. It only has 10% more mass than the sun. To go supernova it needs to be 8-12 times the mass of the sun and when a star does go supernova it turns into a neutron star or black hole. Not a white dwarf like the video said. He also mentioned the Alrair star. It’s Altair not Alrair.
Imagine the aliens analysing the sun and naming it XRYPH 427 and the orbiting exoplanet XRYPH 427b (Earth).
Yeah that's weird never thought of that
I'm sooooooo excited to watch this!!
props to the camera man
I would swear I've already seen this video before today (3 Oct). Still enjoyable.
3 mins into the video i was thinking the same
You mean you can watch a video on UA-cam twice? Incredible
Well show. Good information.. Well
What about a theory that, The Big Bang, was like an egg that gets fertilized and starts to grow like a life?
Who fertilized it? God?
Dude I LOVE your content! Please keep it up!!
I also appreciate your efforts beyond this video which are excellent and capable of a applaud.
@ .05 AU from it's star, Ross 128 is nothing "like the earth". For a planet to resemble earth in its capacity to create and sustain life as we know it, that planet will have to be circling a K or G type star in a 300 to 400 day orbit.
Excellent video
There is no Space out there. Everything you know, you have known, appears in your Consciousness. You are this Consciousness and the so called Space is in you. You are It.

Will be interesting to see and read about what the James Webb telescope will do in the coming years. Would be nice to know if Kepler 70-B can be proven to exist by JWT. Don't forget KELT 9-B. Still the hottest exoplanet known until the Kepler 70-B status is fully known.
You got it right all the way to the end but the universe wouldn't give a s*** if we were here or not
This camera man is the bee's knees!
Animation is fantastic

I remember when I was a kid and heard of the Anthropic Principle. I thought "well, that's just lazy"

I wish that I could fund your services. Do you script or adlib any of your shows. Your endings seem personal which is great. Any ideas on how to grow a channel?
Ok, so super nerd in me saw the thumbnail... Is that the eye of terror?!?!

Zoinks!
11:30 FOMALHAUT A "It's a young HOT star!" -I laughed...it came across funny! "You young hot piece of star! If only I could get within' 2 light years of you we could be together!" -says creepy older star. :)
Than that of the sun

nice job
I like this video its so interestyng
Stars that end up as White Dwarfs don’t go supernova.
Whether a planet beyond the solar system is suitable for humans to live on doesn't matter in ANY way. 😂😎
It’s still kinda interesting to know though
The plasma is a seed that blooms when nourished by water and limestone.
Bro love your content
we need to find a good sun like star for our next planet . living on one with an orange to red sky looks really depressing
very useful
You made a cool video
Very soothing voice lol
when astronomy suprises humanity '
TrES 2b sounds like the portal the Event Horizon went through
I’m enjoying the video but I’ve noticed some inaccuracies. Arcturus won’t go supernova leaving behind a white dwarf. It will follow the same route that the sun will go through by burning off all of its hydrogen while getting quite big. It’s not massive enough to go supernova. The video says it’s has 10% extra mass of the sun. The mass needs to be 8-12 times the mass of the sun to go supernova
You must have misspoke supernovas never produce white dwarfs, but on the other hand a white dwarf can produce a supernova. The outcome of a supernova is always either a neutron star or a black hole. Both of these objects are way more massive than a white dwarf. And for a white dwarf to go supernova it has to acquire at least 1.4 times the mass of our sun, then it will become unstable and go supernova. This is called a type 1A supernova.
I LOVE that Kosmo says "The hypothetical Big Bang", totally acknowledges the Big Bang IS in fact just a theory.
I only like space channels that can tell theory from fact, so definitely subscribed!
Dude you just made a mistake 😂 Among science, a theory is the highest grade of being as close to a fact as possible..
