@Benjamin Steel yeah you gotta use the stash, anything u store in there is shared across all characters. Seasonal stash is shared between seasonal characters. Hardcore between hardcore Regular between regular.
@Raxxanterax The real problem is where to put gear after playing a season. It's getting to the point where if it's not primal ancient or a good ancient with augment it must be trashed because there simply isn't space. It would be really cool if Blizzard could optimize the stash space so that there was one spot for each piece of gear in the game (guild wars did something like this). That way at the end of the season all you need to do is decide if that piece is better than what you already have in your stash. I feel this method would take away the randomness to stash space and would allow them to not kill the servers. Either that or maybe have a different stash space that loads on demand rather than load every time and kill servers. There's got to be a solution!
Hey Raxx, just found your channel today and not sure if you check the comments on these older videos or not but I just wanted to say I actually really liked this one. I'm usually pretty good about my downtime and inventory management in D3 but this video still taught me one thing I never would of thought of. Keeping the first stash tab empty since the game always defaults to that tab is genius and its going to make me rework my entire sorting system and basically just reverse it
Yeah this is the real question - what is worth keeping and what should be salvaged immediately? For example, I have a main set and a farming set, and I keep any Ancient that drops for these sets (either set item or Legendary). If I already have an Ancient for slot, then I compare the two and keep the better one (higher dps one usually). Then I do the same for any other build I want for other alts. I also keep weapons with very high attack speeds for my followers (1.47 AS or higher). Is there anything else worth considering along these lines?
Yeah well blizzard is so stingy with storage space you can't really be a hoarder... they should atleast give enough storage to hold one of every set for all the classes... its ridiculous that they don't give more space
one thing with the gems if you are doing only grs you will only see marquise dropping and can stash them quite nice in the first vertical row and also put the gem you want to lvl there too so that it'll be the first gem in urshi's interface
damn. I muted my volume and i didn't notice until you started talking. Turns out I watch some Raxx guides to the point where I can already conjure up that intro sound perfectly.

Raxxy, thanks, so much, for this; but, I gotta tell you: I just wiped - almost - everything! Like yourself, I had ancients galore, and everywhere; and while I do have a system, it just became too much. I've, also, eliminated all but two characters. I've done this, because I want to focus on season 22, and get my barby to the highest paragon possible. This helps. Best!
Me neither! I'm fairly new though. Up until this last week I've just been using whatever gear I could find and hoping for the best. I never crafted or used the cube etc. I'm trying to learn a little more in depth though so I can finally stop having my ass handed to me in a giftwrapped basket 😂 managed to get upto Torment 1 comfortably but I'm starting to struggle again. I've no hope for this season but I'm trying to use the time to learn what to do and what not to do so I can get better going forward. I play alone as I don't have any friends who play so I've been just trying to figure shit out by myself... not the way to go 😂
good video, wish u could say something more about what u keep and why in the process of upgrading ur gear (ofc i mean purely gear not gems or so). personally i think class sets do not belong into the stash but some sort of collection where u can slot in the item and exchange it if necessary. there are like 5 sets for each class each with 6-7 items...that s a lot of space required not to mention when u keep duplicates for a set which u r using and u keep the duplicate until u have enough materials to upgrade it
Hahaha just as the horrible task of sorting my stash comes up, you release this guide! I have 4 mules, have 4 specs for DH, 2 specs for monk, 2 specs for wizard and 3 specs for necro. It seems the lords of organisation are against me 😂😂
I have a similar system... a must for any long term D3 player! By the way, I was finally able to clear a 123 on Tuesday! I had to fish soooo many rifts to get a good one. But your solo thorns guide truly helped! This is the first time I have ever gotten so high on the leader boards... was 21 at the time (I'm sure I'm probably a lot lower by now). Big question... I've been playing for a long time, but all my friends have either moved on to other games or don't really match up with what I'm doing. This season I was hoping to do the group thorns build, but haven't even gotten into a 4 man yet. Any advice on how to do that? Most people want a pro player. I'm fairly sure I could do it as I am a fairly good player, but its not easy getting a group going. Any advice would help. (Anyone willing to work with me, either Rat runs or Meta can hit me up at Belthezor#1381)
Best advice I can give is to join an active clan (you're welcome to join ours, Trashcats) or search in communities and join ones like SEASONAL GREATER RIFTS and just say you're an RGK looking for metas. Big congratulations on the 123 clear, that's a big one! Keep going, I believe in you!

I did this last night, bit different the way I figured it out though. Two tabs are going to be filled with the legacy items I kept from before RoS and my Cow sticks.
Raxx, thank you for the videos. I will say I am a newbie for D3. Just started playing at season 23 on console and computer. Do you have a video on describing how to tell what the levels are. Thanks
My stash is full because I have no clue which legendaries I might need or not I have to grind bounties and Rifts to get enough mats to Cube them so I only cube ones that are usually used in Cube. And this guy sitting with tens of thousands of death breaths and souls 🤯
Wait a minute, does cubing a primal ancient puzzle ring actually have a benefit? My lv70 GR was a primal ancient PR and I though it was useless. Definitely cubing it tonight.
Rax, thanks for this and other videos! It is funny to see how similar your strategy is to mine. I’m also playing with a necro, but I have 3 different builds (thorns, corpse lance and znecro). How do you manage to organize it? You just mentioned your znec items. Do you create 1 char for each build? What about items for different purposes (avarice band, gold wrap), I didn’t see it in your inventory either. Your stash is more organized than mine because I have more things to deal with. Do you use mule chars? Keep up the good work!
I throw all my legendaries in the same pool for all specs. The only thing I put in the necro specific tab are set pieces. Then I just use 1 necro and that combined with the armory he just puts on all the right gear from all the weapon, armor, and ring tabs :)
Good video. I do a lot of this, though I do dump gems fairly often. Also, I try and hold onto one of anything with a legendary power and one of each set piece. That alone takes up most of my stash space. So, you only keep ancients and primals? Even doing that can make space an issue over time.
Cool tips and I’m going to go organize my stash tonight so I don’t have to worry about it at the end of the Season. Pretty much going to copy this so I hope u don’t mind. Do u have any tips for managing my Mules inventories?
1. Drop them on the ground 2. Complete GR (game will think you don't have the gem and give you a new one) 3. Drop that one on the ground too 4. Repeat 5. Don't forget to pick up before you exit the game or RIP
Or you could opt to put the gems in the secondary characters inventory (if you have one) so you don't lose them. But Raxxs suggestion is the quicker method.
thank you, Ryan, been eagerly awaiting this, and we appreciated the ancient rings last night, it was fun, though a tad overwhelming, the help was awesome, you and malice
hi Raxx , thank you for this guide. I saw a guide (by wudijo) on how to use "force-move" but i did not really understand all this stuff he explain. HAve you done a guide on this subject ? and if not, can you? and how the hell can you(all greats players) play the force-move with the mouse wheel?
They seriously need to make regular gems weightless in inventory and take no stash space/put in resources... that would solve soo many problems on its own imo.
I just don't understand why Blizzard restricts the stash space so strictly. Even more so, why is the number of characters limited? For each new season I need to delete an old char. And if I buy and play with a new Account, I cannot swap items. Silly!
server load / disk space to have to keep track of all those additional items. they were going to add like 5 new stash tabs a couple seasons ago, but after testing found it busted up their servers, so they reduced to 1 additional. it's a technical limitation at this point.
but builds change. like you may need a set item to be with a skill, and another a different skill, and another with no skill depending on the build on the current meta. So a single piece of set gear is not necessarily fine, because i doubt that gear will be optimized for different builds and metas. so you can't simply say i got the set piece, but so what? as long as you don't have the right affixes it's just gonna be a subpar for that build you need it for. So i end up having multiple set gear due to this :( I appreciate the introduction of the gear armory closet for quick set item switching, and also the many stash tabs. but they could do much more. make more of the generic materials part of the item list rather taking up inventory space needlessly. Then we can use more of that space for gear. Also if a piece of gear has been EOL'd e.g. they changed the affix so an old gear you had now becomes a legacy outdated item, they need to clearly label them as such. Instead, from last i saw, you are supposed to manually browse to the official blizzard gear item page and check the current official stats for the item.... OR, check with the horadric cube recipe for the item whether the legendary skills is the same still. It would be far simple if they had some sort of tagging simply say (outdated legacy) or some such.
I really like these guides on minor, yet important things :) By the way, that's a lot of primals you got there. Is it really mainly from farming greater rifts?
i have many years to play diablo 3 and yesterday i played and i was confused on how much build items (green) i have and i dont know how to choose between them. in everything else i am well organised, like gems, rings etc. but with build i dont know what to do. i have not used a lot of them but i am afriad if i salvage them or sell i will regret it. what do you propose?the problem is that there is no room in inventory.
The first thing I’d propose is salvaging anything that is not ancient or better. From there, try to compare the exact same items to each other and see if one I just strictly better (has better rolls with the same stats). Then you can safely salvage the worse one
are you solo player? how do you get that much paragon? im struggling to get over 800 when playing solo.. and im also struggling to find even groups in diablo 3.. plz let me know how u manage to get that much paragon during solo play because im trying to figure out why exp moves to slow when its like 800 paragon by my self
You need to find a reliable group to level with. If you stick to solo it will be quite slow for you. Join a clan or community if you're friendslist are always offline
This is a non-seasonal character so it has all of his paragons from every season added together. If you want to get paragon levels above 800 quick and efficiently, there is really only one way: make a Rathma singularity mage necro and run the RatRun meta with 2 singularity necros, 1 support znecro to make health orbs, and a zbarb to provide buffs and pick up orbs. This RatRun meta then becomes upgraded into the Legacy of Nightmares Singularity mage necro version where you replace all the rathma pieces with ancient legendary pieces for even more damage. This is the fastest method to farm paragon by a landslide. I personally only play seasons until i'm paragon 800 or so before I get bored (1 week of playing the season basically. s17 i was p800 after 3 days and I only played Demon Hunter that season)
I have a pretty similar setup usually. With this season though I have gotten ran through so many GRs that I am at 5 tabs of just stuff tossed in. Really need to clean house lol. Question though, how do you get so many duplicate legend gems?
The 5k gems stack is too little. Also in ns, I play all classes both for meta and solo. I have been dumping class specific items in my solo toons😓. With the new follower items, I didn’t farm all gears for Each solo toon. I hope d3 has a global excel to do vlookup across toons and stash
Assuming you have all the gems in your inventory the thing goes as follows: Drop the gems on the ground (the ones you need duplicated) or if you have a secondary character in season, just put them in their inventory and switch back to main, do GR's and the gems will drop again since the game doesn't detect them in the current characters inventory. Rinse repeat.
Bro I lost all my inventory and stash items when I didn't played for 3 day and lost my knai cube.im played at console.=(don't know why.??I just log in.
gem inventory on hero is bad idea for HC and so is dumping the sets. some tips in this video is more for SC players? i play exclusively HC as i find SC boring and no regards for dying. i have no issues with stash space. love your videos dough.
Why is having the gems in the inventory bad for HC? Why is dumping your gained loot into the stash bad for HC unless you're just not running any GR for efficiency at all?
I just happened on this video and the first thing I thought when he opened the inventory was "your inventory should be EMPTY all the time, if you die you lose everything in it". Softcore pussies.
@@llVIU no, it's not. It's a whole different game and it really teaches you how to play and to appreciate diablo, and you'll not want to go back to softcore.
@@llVIU people who rage when their character die don't understand games with permadeath. I grew up playing rogue and angband, permadeath was the only option. Diablo with shared stash, money, city upgrades and paragon levels is way more forgiving. If you play correctly when you die you lose only a couple of hours (tops) to level back to 70, and you already have plenty of backup gear. I've lost 4 necromancers this season, always to map hazards like fire and such. No biggie.
@@llVIU I'm just saying most people bashing HC haven't played it. I played both and I can provide an educated feedback. I think it is superior in terms of experience it provides. The reasons are many for a short comment, there are lots of videos of experienced HC players that explain why it is so good.

OR, check with the horadric cube recipe for the item whether the legendary skills is the same still. It would be far simple if they had some sort of tagging simply say (outdated legacy) or some such.
Raxxxxx can u do a video like this for consoles???? Inventory management there is sooooo garbage...
I don't know how that system even works!
My first storage place is organized and neat, meanwhile my second one is just all tabs full of junk I use to salvage.
Now let's see you organise a non season stash lol!!!
lol
Haha the struggle is real with the non-season stash. ROUGH! What to do!?
I really like these guides on minor, yet important things :)
By the way, that's a lot of primals you got there. Is it really mainly from farming greater rifts?
Thank you Yanuary :). All of those primals are from greater rifts, I have barely crafted anything the entire season :O
i have many years to play diablo 3 and yesterday i played and i was confused on how much build items (green) i have and i dont know how to choose between them. in everything else i am well organised, like gems, rings etc. but with build i dont know what to do. i have not used a lot of them but i am afriad if i salvage them or sell i will regret it. what do you propose?the problem is that there is no room in inventory.
The first thing I’d propose is salvaging anything that is not ancient or better. From there, try to compare the exact same items to each other and see if one I just strictly better (has better rolls with the same stats). Then you can safely salvage the worse one
Today I learned you can change the tab icon.
It’s helpful!
are you solo player? how do you get that much paragon? im struggling to get over 800 when playing solo.. and im also struggling to find even groups in diablo 3..
plz let me know how u manage to get that much paragon during solo play because im trying to figure out why exp moves to slow when its like 800 paragon by my self
@@QuockaFlocka yup thats the quickest way to farm levels. However, if you dont know anyone, you will struggle to find a rats group in pubs
@@QuockaFlocka That is NOT a non-seasonal character. You can clearly see the seasonal leaf emblem in the top right.
I have a pretty similar setup usually. With this season though I have gotten ran through so many GRs that I am at 5 tabs of just stuff tossed in. Really need to clean house lol. Question though, how do you get so many duplicate legend gems?
Drop them on the ground or keep in alts inventory and then another one of that type will drop. If its in your inventory or stash it will not drop.
@@AsTheUniverseFades Ah ok gotcha. Thanks!
I create a character and have them hold 60 pcs of class related legendaries/set pieces.
I play Eternal Collection on Switch is this gonna apply?
Did they reduce amount of tabs or smth? I only have 1 in the second section
What’s the point of leveling up so many Of the same gem augments??
to destroy them for augments for lots of different classes
The 5k gems stack is too little. Also in ns, I play all classes both for meta and solo. I have been dumping class specific items in my solo toons😓. With the new follower items, I didn’t farm all gears for Each solo toon. I hope d3 has a global excel to do vlookup across toons and stash
haha I have 13 tabs now, and always low on space, regardless how I organize, and I only play monk this season (unlocked tab 13 just this season)....
haha im doing the same with my bovines, hoping they patch in an ancient cow level : D
One day! I believe!
32k int pfff i prefer 9k strength
Dont forget to use Turbohud too
Never used it in my life
And remember of you cant find something, aqui
How do you get multiple of the same legendary gems?
Assuming you have all the gems in your inventory the thing goes as follows: Drop the gems on the ground (the ones you need duplicated) or if you have a secondary character in season, just put them in their inventory and switch back to main, do GR's and the gems will drop again since the game doesn't detect them in the current characters inventory. Rinse repeat.
@@Dobai1 Thank you :-)
Bro I lost all my inventory and stash items when I didn't played for 3 day and lost my knai cube.im played at console.=(don't know why.??I just log in.
Well, doesnt work on console right ?
👍😎
"I didn't come here to do a video about Stone of Jordan". ;-D
get rid of the ramaladni gift cubes.. waste of space... you never need more than 100 off-season anyways...
he's playing for an achievement - 1000 gift cubes
gem inventory on hero is bad idea for HC and so is dumping the sets. some tips in this video is more for SC players? i play exclusively HC as i find SC boring and no regards for dying. i have no issues with stash space. love your videos dough.
Good point Joseph, should've considered HC more with that suggestion
Why is having the gems in the inventory bad for HC? Why is dumping your gained loot into the stash bad for HC unless you're just not running any GR for efficiency at all?
So do PC players have significantly less room in their stash than console players? That’s kind of what it looks like to me.
How can you have so much space in your stash? It is just not possible.
Wowwwwww Ramaladnis stack?! Damn it lol
Lol
I wish us console peasants had tabs in the stash, running multiple characters on console is a clusterf***
Gem trick bad when playing a Hardcore. Poof.
Sounds like u learned the hard way. I know I did :)
Got excited until I realized pc stash is different then Xbox stash
:*(
.......................... primal-ancient .....................? How is this different than...... primal?
Primal ancients and primals are the same thing
Funny how different the Switch version is
The PS4 version is very different as well.
If in doubt chuck it out Hehe
Mkay
*cries in ps4*
Ps4 can't organize any of this :'( it's all alphabetical and based on slot it goes in then gems is just a giant horde under types
Sell some of those SOJs to Charsi bruh.
LOL Uber Diablo!!!
*cries in console*
Can you do one for consoles 😉
Should be the same!
