I wasn’t sure how to reach you all directly, but I wanted to let you know I sent Mum Beesley the skewers (along with a few other goodies) she used for the mashed potato lollipops in this video and the double cheeseburger video. I forgot to include a note that the skewers were for her corn dog recipe. I’m thrilled she’s found so many other uses for them!
Sadly, the sweet potato casserole is typically a side rather than a dessert, not that it really matters...lol. In America, we eat whatever whenever really. The old saying here is that all goes to the same place eventually. The Dinner looked great, thanks for sharing.
Mom, you did well, it all looks beautiful. Remember that it’s not about what you make. It’s about who you share it with. That’s what Thanksgiving is about.
Good for you! And tell mom there’s no “official” Thanksgiving fare. The tradition is whatever tradition you start. Love this for your family! Happy Thanksgiving!
I think that the English should be proud of the accomplishments of their early English ancestors that settled in North America. Sharing their harvest with their native neighbors after enduring starvation and disease was a big deal. Giving thanks to God for His provision should be practiced in every country.
You make it sound like the Native Americans should be thankful for the English sharing the meal. The facts are it's the other way around. Also is the English that brought disease and pestilence to the Native Americans. Things they didn't have to contend with until they discovered America.
Sadly that’s not how it went. The natives saved the pilgrims from starvation only to be murdered and rounded up to reservations having their land stolen.
Most Thanksgivings in America have mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, brown gravy and pumpkin pie. There are many variations Like Mac n cheese, collard greens, different pies as well. This definitely was more British than American. But it warms our hearts that many Europeans are celebrating in there own way! It's mostly about food, family and being thankful!
As several people have already mentioned, sweet potato casserole is generally part of the meal. Sweet potato pie would be a dessert. Happy Thanksgiving!! 🦃🍁🍽
Great job with the meal. I love the addition of Yorkshire pudding. Thanksgiving is about traditional Thanksgiving food, but it is also about embracing all the cultures that make America great. Just for the Americans: Gammon is essentially the same as our ham. However, it isn't cooked when you buy it so it needs to spend more time in the oven. It is similar to what we call a smoked Virginia ham. It is delicious.
We just celebrated my grandfathers 100th birthday. he was a solider in the army. He was there at the beach on d-day and got to see many places in Europe. I would love to hear some stories about your grandfather and his travels in WW2. Happy thanksgiving to your family from ours!
happy Thanksgiving from Michigan. Looks good. The important thing about Thanksgiving it's not about what type of food which can be anything. The basic reason for Thanksgiving is being thankful for all your blessings.
The Grand Ole Opry is the Name of the show(s) held at the original building called the Ryman Auditorium. The show has since moved into a new building called The Opry House. When moving, a six foot circle of floor was removed from the original stage floor center where all the stars to ever perform there have stood. They built that circle into the center of the new floor. So, anyone that performs now gets to stand exactly where everyone through the years has performed.
Happy Thanksgiving, Beasley family! Your dinner looks wonderful! I think a bigger thing about thanksgiving than the food is being able to share with family and/or friends. And it’s absolutely a time to be thankful to the Lord. Happy Thanksgiving again and thank you for 😊sharing your day with us.
Lol. Leftovers for a week! Welcome to Thanksgiving 😂😂😂 I love that the family is all together and your mom is such a wonderful cook! We eat the sweet potato casserole is part of the meal, not a dessert.
The sweet potato casserole is very sweet and it's not a desert. It goes on your dinner plate and you eat it with everything else. A couple of must have that you missed is cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, and cream corn.
Dinner looks wonderful!! Happy thanks giving to you all. Next time you might add cornbread dressing and sweet potato casserole topped with a pecan crumble.
I would love it if you made a cooking video making your chutneys. Vicki everything you made looks absolutely delicious. I'm so glad your turkey was moist. It really goes so well with all the different dishes!
Happy Thanksgiving eve! I know you did this like a week ago but in America it really can be a special holiday that get families together! Great job Mom on a fun British Thanksgiving! Must of missed part 1 but will check it out! Today and tomorrow are very busy for us preparing so will look it up in a couple days! Thanks for sharing!
Thanksgiving feast has influences depending on where you are in the country and your family's origins. My family is Asian so we have some Asian influences in our meal. We have more vegetables based dishes than some other folks in my area. Oh Archie. You lively lad.
Jersey reminds me of Taiwan a bit. My family has ancestors who fled China during the Cultural Revolution to Taiwan. Prior to WWII, Japan invaded and took over Taiwan like how the Germans did Jersey. I didn't ask if there is a celebration for that but we really don't do Thanksgiving in Taiwan. So in a way, I understand what is being said.
Your mom did a fantastic job. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving and it is all about family friends being grateful for everything and that moment you get to share it with somebody else but we have what you have food wise. It’s all the same it’s what we love… Thank you guys enjoy… Florida girl
❤ the 🌎 war story is emotional and lovely.... memories and thanks giving thanksgiving. Your family has hugged the states thanksgiving festivities perfectly. Well done. Very heartwarming. I am 1700 miles plus away from most of my family and friends. I feel your family gave me all I need this holiday Thanksgiving.
Sweet potatoe casserole with marshmallows is actually a side dish with your meal, but I can understand why you'd think it's a dessert. It's very sweet. And you're missing cornbread dressing or stuffing. It all looked delicious though.
I think if the English knew more about the Jamestown and Plymouth colonies they would probably think more about a celebration feast to remember. Those colonists had it extremely rough.
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!! I love how y'all put ur own spin on things with the Yorkshire pudding. We all do that here also. We have the basic things but every cultural group/region of the country puts their own spin on it. It's a wonderful thing..
2:55 The matter-of-fact way that Millie says (British) turkey is always dry 😂 Fantastic job, everyone! Everything looks delish & I especially love that you added a Brit twist w/ the Yorkshire pudding. That’s how tradition evolves.
The sweet potato casserole is part of the dinner. It goes on the same plate as your meal. Your meat looks great. You did a great job. Thanks for celebrating our Thanksgiving with you. God bless your family
I have a confession. I am an American who doesn't like Sweet Potato Casserole!! It's just too sweet! I love sweet potatoes but marshmallows added to them is just too much!! There I said it! 🤣
I just got finished prepping everything and made the desserts. It's now 6:42p and I'm exhausted. I want to not do too much on Thanksgiving and enjoy like the rest. I hope you all enjoyed your version of TG.
I highly recommend that when Chattanooga that you go up to Lookout Mountain. You can see for miles around and look down on the city of Chattanooga. Lookout Mountain is also a historical Civil War site.
A Very British Thanksgiving! It looks delish. One of the American Traditions to is ask a blessing-particularly to thank God for the ones who prepared the meal.
Looks like an amazing spread! Well done Mom! Love that you are doing so many fantastic recipes. I’m thankful for you guys & your channel. Sending you big hugs from Los Angeles 💜💐🦃🍽️🥧
Unfortunately being in the medical field ive missed thanksgiving with the family for many years now. Sick people dont take a day off so i cant either, but im still grateful for my health and my jobs....Happy Thanksgiving Beesleys!!!
Similar boat here. I spent a decade in a 24x7x365 IT role, and have family in medical roles as well. It sucks missing the big meal, but I think the mindset is more important than the food. In that vein, thanks for taking care of our sick friends. ✌️
It's a hybrid British-American meal, but it looked very good! One important thing missing is the stuffing which I personally don't like but it's custom
Happy Thanksgiving Beesley's! Your dinner looked wonderful! I recently saw an episode of "Who Do You think You Are?" on You Tube that went to Jersey and explained what life was like during WW2 there, it was very interesting!
It's interesting that Brits seem to always want to go to the South (including Texas) or to New York City. They don't seem to know anything about the Great Lakes states and how beautiful they are, or the 'flyover states' in the middle of the country.
Turkey is necessary but most ppl usually have some other meats or mest dishes as well. When you see any thanksgiving meal list itll just be basic common dishes but almost anything goes as far as extras. We have chicken wings and ham often alongside it. We usually have a 20-30 close cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents so many extra dishes and desserts
The great thing about thanksgiving is that even though there’s certain staple items (turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, biscuits/rolls) everyone does it a little differently. I make stuffed mushrooms that you don’t find on most thanksgiving tables, but they always get requested
That doesn't look like any Thanksgiving meal I've ever had, but there are many, many different variations of the Thanksgiving meal in the US, as well. We are having Turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, garlic mash potatoes, deviled eggs, ham, bread and rolls, cherry or peach cobbler pumpkin pie , pecan pie, Mac and cheese Maybe some changes will be made but for now that what it is.
Yes, please share the World War II stories in the books. I’m very interested. My grandfather was in World War II Normandy Frontline he raised me. He made it home. I’m always interested in World War II stories from England.❤😊
It looks wonderful. I'm so jealous. Just remember the hostess normally provides the turkey/ham and maybe a side or dessert. The rest of the family should bring the sides, desserts, appetizers, etc. Usually they each bring a couple of items. That way even though you are still doing the majority of the work, you aren't doing it all. The food can be anything that your family enjoys. Happy thanksgiving to our honorary Americans, the Beesleys!
Happy thanksgiving Andrew!
We actually eat Sweet Potato casserole as part of the dinner, it’s not eaten as a dessert. Just one of those strange American things😉🦃
The sweetness level is also a personal preference. I myself do not like it overly sweet either so I will adjust the recipe accordingly.
@@Okusername28472 You beat me to this point 👏
As w/ most recipes, adjust to taste 😁
@@carlygrace2 it's more like a 'savoury dish' not excessively sweet like the pie, presentation would be
We do it for both. Way tasier as a souffle and less dry than pumpkin pie for a sweet potato pie
It is, after all, a casserole. The name should tip people off.
Mom, you did well, it all looks beautiful. Remember that it’s not about what you make. It’s about who you share it with. That’s what Thanksgiving is about.
Happy thanksgiving to the Beesley family. You did a fantastic job Vicky!
Happy Thanksgiving my British cousins! Mom should start a youtube cooking show.

I loved this video. Family breaking bread and sharing positive thoughts is a beautiful thing. You did a great job.
Sweet potato casserole is a side dish to the Turkey dinner. Sweet potato pie is a dessert.
Sweet potato casserole was always served as a side item for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner in our family.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you all for your channel!
You're great and I'm grateful!
That's what the Holiday is all about.

Yorkshire Pudding on Thanksgiving is an excellent idea!
I would totally have that!
I LOVE YORKSHIRE PUDDING!!
Maternal grandmother was from Yorkshire!! ❤️
Paternal grandfather was from Suffolk!! ❤️
Exactly! With that dark brown gravy!

Remember, NO Thanksgiving is complete until you've watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"...A MUST!
Not every American watches it.
"How the hell would they know where we are going?"
I was watching it before this lol
And watched the turkey drop on WKRP the funniest episode of a sitcom ever! Plus listened to Alice’s restaurant.
Absolutely!!
