Despite the fact that this video seems to inspire many folks to throw away their instruments, I'm pretty much inspired by this. Always learn, never stop!
Always good to hear a bass genius before I continue my love affair with root notes and simplicity. Thanks Bass the World for another incredible video! Junior is a monster!
Guy´s got good chromatics and if you watch some his other work, especially live, he´s got great groove - works really well with the rhythm section. I´d like to see him locked into it with drummer Eloy Casagrande!
Caramba Braguinha! Ja conheço teu som e to acostumado com a sua brutalidade. Mas esse som aí, ta doido mano...insano!!! Mistura de Snarky Puppy com Tribaltech
Those criticizing his talent, technique, musical skills, “this is not music”, blah blah blah, can you do what he’s doing? This is art, not just bass playing; if you can’t appreciate it, understand it or see beyond the instrument you’re not qualified to judge; show your skills or just look and sound like fools

I know that Michael Pipoquinha and Junior Braguinha are not the same guy. When I went to Spotify to look up Junior Braguinha it lead me to other bass players like Junior Braguinha.
Precise, clinical, deft, efficient, mathematically correct, slightly nasal sounding... highly structured and a little nod to Jaco at the end. I don't get it though.
Martin Heath that is exactly why I looked at the comments. To see if I was alone. I’m not buying it. There’s nothing special about the bass or the player. What is he playing anyway? There was no song there. There certainly was no “modal” aspect considering being touted as a jazz bass giant. I’m so sick of watching these guys and girls just loosely jam to some inane beat and accompaniment that has no actual music contained within. A bunch of notes does not make music.
Would it help if I told that is one of his own compositions? His arrangement and his harmony. That plus what you said, to me sound like an all rounded working musician. But I know what you are saying, but the guy has to play the game to be seen and listened. If you don't do that, you stay in your garage gigs and giving some lesson and giving people shit in their videos. What more could you ask for?

Some people are turned on by the rhythmic and harmonic inventiveness of players like this, some people just like a good groove, some people like both. Thank god we live in a varied and diverse world. Life would be boring otherwise.
I got mad respect for these musicians, but I just can't stand this type of jazz. Sounds like a huge warm up session with everybody doing their own thing and it's somehow in rhythm.

Hey Greg! Do you know what pedal effect he was using @5:30???
I think it's the octabvre .... tim lefebvre's signature octave pedal.... i think.....
@@sigiriabeysekara8723 It’s actually an octave pedal called “OC-2” by Boss, thanks for the reply though!

Exactly
It's actually not bad at all but after 5:18 he seems to start losing the plot
Dirty sounds, seems F Rhodes with distortion or anything else. Or cheap synths. I guess it's fashion now.
I mean if we all liked the same sounding music it’d be boring as hell. At the very least you respect skilled art even if you don’t like it
Most of the instruments in this music are made by a synthesizer
