Eddie has done amazingly well, from such humble beginnings. It also shows you why a safety net is needed. Could you imagine how much harder it would be to build wealth these days. When lots of people can't get housing commission, so a strong chance Eddie and his Mum might of been forced to live in the car or a tent. Eddie has talked about how poor they were, but back in those days his Mum would have been allowed to have the pension up until he was an adult. Whereas these days she would have been cut off when Eddie was 8 years of age and they would have lived of significantly less they they did. They would have been living way below the poverty line, as Newstart/ Jobseeker has only grown this year. I wish more people could understand that basics like a home and very minimal money allow the foundation for someone like Eddie to grow and succeed as he has. Not saying he couldn't have done it if his Mum was on jobseeker and they were living in a car/ tent, but it would have been a lot harder for both of them.

Something very important is that those housing conditions are far from bad compared to most of the world, in Australian standards it may look quite sketchy, but believe me, here in my country having those housing conditions is a privilege!

Those s hand basins with the hot and cold tap you meant to put the plugin and fill it up every time with water rather than just wash with either tap!

The other annoying thing about those taps is they are so short and close to the side of the sink you cant get hands underneath to wash properly lol

Housing commission houses are a lot safer than the housing comission units where you a stuck around 16 other units filled with dodgy people.

Would you consider buying investment property in Wilmot? Could the place become gentrified in the future?

Richly designed to taxi had to fill up the bass and you weren't meant to run it to and put your hand under it you meant to clean the base and put the plugin and fill it up

Rents are so high because of land Lords, housing commission need to be put in with private housing ,no one should own a house everyone is entitled to a home ,when did housing become an investment and not a nessarity,U had a roof over your head ,now a lot of homelessness in Australia

It will take you $1000 a day to bribe the council to allow tenants. No seriously on that note, Essay incoming Mo, you don't have to read it but others might so don't delete please.... I was renting in a backyard granny flat in Cabramatta and the council has been on this family's back for years about how it shouldn't be there and that the plans were wrong etc I don't know the full details but another tenant and I were evicted by the council because they were saying it didn't meet code but if I were to go live under a bridge (like one guy that has been under railway pde bridge for over 10 years and others who are out begging for change and sleep in a park) the council isn't about to go and offer then any "Up to code" accommodation. The housing department give 30 days accommodation to people in emergencies which is good and fine but I was the caretaker for a while at one of these places and they seemed to give extensions to people on drugs, most likely to pretend it was my decision like a lot of Australian departments who want to divert blame for their bullshit on me after I seemed to disrupt Melbourne's S11 protest terror group... Then you can go on a waiting list to get given a cheap house to rent and most of those are filled with drug dealers and addicts. In the time I was a caretaker there were families with kids and single mothers who were pushed out but ice addicts who seemed to get extension after extension. Now this is a government department doing this, the people linked to "Centrelink" and the courts and banks and post and police and road authorities and defense force and media claiming some cave dweller is a terrorist and we need to take the land because there is oil under it and opium in Afghanistan and ... we the people crap and I am the delusional guy. Let me tell you that I only became delusional after I discovered security issues... I am sorry this doesn't abide by community guidelines but the community is full of unwary victims and the criminals doing all this.
Notice how all the other Australian department and news channels dont allow comments.
