Hey Andy! Very nice kit. I agree, Tamiya should reissue this kit, very useful in a lot of ways. Clean molding on the upper body of the figure, hands look terrible, everything else pretty good. Be seeing you
I agree with you about fighting figure poses. Before I stopped modeling in the 1980's, I didn't like them because they didn't fit on the vehicles . I wasn't into dioramas and didn't want to put each figure on little bases beside the kit on the display shelf . 29 years later , I returned to modeling. Have managed two or three dioramas but still don't like figures in fighting poses. Fortunately, there are more figures in relaxed poses now.
hello again @thomasdailey9280 i think this kit is a little gem and am bemused why Tamiya ont re-issue it. yes relaxed poses are the way to go and i think the kit manufacturers cottoned o to that a while ago. hoping to do i diorama at some point in the future.
@@TheNoviceModellerI have this kit and a Tamiya Afrika Korps Kubelwagen. Also a Dragon Models Kubelwagen Workshop car . That kit comes with relaxed figures . May put it all in a diorama , but don't know when . Do you have a Facebook page ?
@thomasdailey9280 facebook i do though it has been pretty idle for a few years and i rarely look at it. my UA-cam email is novicemodelling@gmail.com though i do unfortunately have a delayed reaction to emails also LOL. If you would like my facebook i would prefer only to communicate it via email if thats ok?
hi @thomasdailey9280 i dont mind providing you my facebook details via email, i just dont post my personal details on UA-cam........bit weird i know, just advice i was given by a fellow youtuber.
Hey Andy, I like the new background, very international to match the kits you are acquiring This kit is really interesting, and ironically I think I have the Kubellwagen kit to go with it. Ironic because I rarely build " armour" . Although I did have an old 1959 Karman Ghia that probably had the same engine in another life. Looks like I'll be down next week. Had to clear out my building area and return it to a guest bedroom for visitors next week. So I might be off line till next weekend. Kind of like having model withdrawal However I'll catch up with your videos by next weekend. Cheers for now Bob. Additional info my Russian aircraft carrier just arrived and it is qawesome, They packaged it to withstand a trip to the ISS on a Vostok capsule lol, couldn't have found this kit without you and your channel.
Hi Bob . You had a Karman ghia, now that is a nice car, that must have been a cool car to cruise around in, a real babe magnet LOL. Good that they well packed the "aircraft Carrier". hope you enjoy your visitors, have fun. Be seeing you.
Hi Andy. Yeah these little kits are very useful for dioramas , still don,t understand why Tamiya has stopped producing them. The one item that seems surplus to requirements is the extra wheel. The Kubel has a spare wheel on the bonnet. So why wouldn,t the driver use that one instead ? I must say I like the other kits especially the Airfix kit. The BMW sidecar needs etch fret spokes which are available to buy. Good vid. Good luck bud.
cheere Brian, was well impressed with this one, so was the carpet monster. No idea why its OOP, seems like a mossed opportunity like the LRDG. Does the spare wheel on the kubel kit have a fixed hubcap on it ? not sure, i'm comfy in the conservatory at the mo.
@@TheNoviceModeller Hi Andy. Ooh I am not to sure about that. But you could always leave it off and then make it look like the driver has removed it in preparation for putting it on the Kubel. You will then have to put some little studs on the bonnet where the wheel was. No hard task. Good luck bud
Yeah, a mystery why Tamiya hasn't re-released it. They may release the accessories and figures with a new version of their Kübelwagen kit. Tamiya has already come out with Kübels with Ramcke Brigade and Rommel/DAK figures, so it seems possible. Incidentally, another Japanese manufacturer, Fine Molds does a 1/35 version of the Kübel with a cute blonde German female officer figure (Rekiso Wotome Laura), which you can get at Hobby Search Japan 🙂 In the meantime, Master Box offers various German repair crews in 1/35 which will also get the job done.
Hi @jeremyalam480 i got this recently and have been looking for it for a while, i think it's great, far better than i expected and yes a bit of a questionable market strategy. I will have to search out this fine molds kit. Oh i have a bunch of other repair crews etc in the stash, as usual more than can sensibly dealt with in a lifetime it seems.
Very nice Airfix looks nice.
Thanks @steve1315 two more bricks for the kit box hut i am going to build LOL
