hello again @davidpowell6098, i am heading back to Mikeys in Cornwall on Saturday to film the rest of his stash, will be doing some vids while i am down there and bringing a load back for future release, from past experience, dropping a bunch of vids increases viewer interest in the channel and piques UA-cams interest and its famous algorithm also, so there is method to the madness, hopefully whilst i am down there i will be uploading some interesting stuff so hoping for some good view figures. hope you enjoy the ride LOL.
Hi Andy. I like you like my truck kits. People forget that these guys kept the fighting men equipped. So with this kit I would suggest building it in sub assemblies, it will make it easier. The number of parts is staggering , but if you take your time it will all come together. I do like the rear tarp (tilt) option. The wheels on these kits are very nicely detailed. There are a lot of mechanical parts and you don't need to know them all but sometimes it does help to know what they are when it cimes to fitting them. But as you say these CAD drawing instructions are very detailed. I like you have made some kits where it shows that a part goes there somewhere. Its all about expanding your knowledge. As for the camoflage I do like the D-DAY version with the 'Mickey Mouse' ear pattern. But the battle of the Sheldt peninsular was a very hard won battle. Look it up it is very interesting how the Allies did it. It was for access to the Antwerp docks which were strategically important. Anyway a good video. Good luck bud.
Yeah theres something about trucks, the unseen wheeled heroes of war and LOL lots of stowage options. i am guessing when you say sub assemlies you are talking about chassis/cab/rear and possibly breaking that down into 1/2 sections or so, i guess this eases the painting process, i think i have figured out that going off instructions to allow for painting is relatively normal, certainly seem to be how i go about it. yes Scheldt in Holland, have read bits about it before, apparently the Germans were not in the mood for leaving.
As a novice my self i have not heard of this manufacturer yet but i will most certainly be adding this to my list! really pleasing instructions too. Great review! 🙏🏼🍻
Hello again @preachercpt yes the instructions on these IBG kits look really good, i am currently doing the reviews for 7 of their trucks, some are earlier 2013-15ish and seem to be without photo etch, the later ones with, so whether you are capable of P/E yet (i aint LOL) might help you decide which one you might want to have a go at.
Another lovely looking kit Andy. The only thing that frightens me off trucks, is the amount of pieces and how to paint it! I'm a bit OCD so I might start to stress a bit! 😱🤣 Thanks for reviewing these great models. Goid work! Take it easy mate 👊
Hi Bobby, yes there's a lot of pieces, but 4 sprues is that a lot? i think its the chassis and all the underneath that looks the most complex, i have a few Tamiya/Italeri trucks, maybe they wont be so parts heavy and simpler, i know i'll be starting building trucks with a Tamiya/Italeri, these are too complex for me at the mo.
@TheNoviceModeller yeah good call mate! 👍 It's the chassis and little bits that put me off too. Although the last Italeri kit I did wasn't that straight forward. Probably just me! 🤣 Laters 👊
It looks like with that kit you got an extra chassis complete with axles. I got their kit of the Canadian Otter scout car and got 2 extra complete sets of wheels, one set larger and one set smaller than the set that was for the kit. I was thinking about using the larger set but alas they wouldn't fit inside the fenders so I ended up using the proper ones anyway, leaving 2 sets for the parts box. I like those kits better than the Gecko ones because there is the right amount of detail and not too much. I find the Gecko kits too fiddley for my liking.
Hello there @taskmaster58 i do like truck and the IBG ones do look good, the instructions look 1st class also, yes i think there is a crossover with some of the kits, there is also the short wheel base version of this truck so possibly its easier to include extra parts just to save elsewhere. the Gecko i did the other day does look complex, but a pretty unique vehicle, these are all beyond my current skill set but in a year or so they will come out again.
Hello Andy, you're knocking these reviews out thick and fast my friend, keep them coming.

@TheNoviceModeller I'll keep that in mind. Thanks 🍻👌looking forward to the next !
Making models is fun, at least you have something to show for it afterwards.
yesindeedee @ronaldmcdonald8303
If I done that most of the little parts will end up feeding the carpet monster as me ol' eyes won't be able to see them lol
LOL the carpet monster is my pet, he enjoys my model making escapades.
