They really knew how to make great promotional films back then. This music just kicks ass.

They were ahead of their time. First with PFC hydraulics (Deere didn't get this until 1993) quieter cabs, much heavier drive train than either JD or IH, excellent visibility, great 3 point capacity. Truly remarkable for their time.

I still enjoy my 7050! Plenty of power. Got it on my 3 row fox silage chopper. Very nice tractor!

I just bought a 7040 from the Dale Haymaker collection in Illinois so this was a great video to watch! Now if I could actually get the trucking company to deliver it...

Whatever.....After they were a couple years old they weren't worth anything while the green tractors held their value. You could buy a 4520 JD and keep it for 10 years and damn near sell it for what you paid for it....You sure couldn't do that with AC or Case ect.

@@ericteipen For the 6 decades before JD came out with their 4520, AC outsold JD in EVERY market, lol! JD would've never had a hand clutch or 3 point if it weren't for AC. They also beat JD by half a decade into getting in the tractor race.

@@ericteipen Allis Chalmers could get great resale back then just like Gleaner. Back in the 1970's Gleaner had the biggest market share in the US and also the highest resale. The tractors had good resale too. I have the the dealers Equipment Guide books that were given to all dealers no matter the brand back then. 1977, 1978, 1973, 1966, 1965 and 1959 are the guide books I have that give resale, auction price, retail price, features and options and the prices of certain options. It includes tractors, combines, balers, swathers etc etc.

This really makes me sad it reminds me of the ole 7030 my paw paw use to have growing up on the farm I would sit in his lap and he would let me steer and I thought it was the greatest feeling ever but sadly she’s broke down in are machine yard needing a hydraulic pump and engine overhaul so she needs a lot of good ole tlc that’s part of my heart which is part of reason I subscribe to y’all boys I might be young but the old stuff is what I grew up on with my paw paw so thank y’all fellers.

Thanks for the Allis videos. Great memories for me. 220 is the collectible Allis that I wish for but, the 70xx series was a real advancement in technology.

I was 14 and got to chop corn with a 7030 ,in mud! Duals on one side a straight pipe, no A.C. door open chopping 2 rows of corn dragging the wagons that sank to the X and that beast just kept coming. Barbra mandrel on the radio with George Jones playing country wasn't cool! It just couldn't get any better

Take the color war out of the equation. These tractors have a lot of features that really are the standard now 40+ years later. I’m not a big fan of the look of them nor the colors. (Orange/Burgundy) The black bellies look much better. The only thing I really saw lacking was lighting at night because as the video ends it looks like a model T car. They did fix that in the next series with the stadium lights going across the top of the cab. Our neighbor had a 7030 and we had an IH 1086. I used to help him and would operate his 7030. Aesthetically the IH was a better looking tractor but I always liked and thought the A/C tractor had much more improvements.

Lets look at what the competition had to offer as far as fuel capacity goes.
      AC 7030- 51 gal./64 gal. optional
      Case 1270- 80 gal.
      Ford 9600- 43 gal.
      IH 1066- 42 gal.
      JD 4430- 46 gal.
      MF 1135- 55 gal.
      MM G1355- 40 gal.
      Oliver 2255- 35 gal./ 65 gal. cab tanks/ 113 gal. fender tanks
So in comparison to the other brands at that time, they were offering more capacity than most of the competition.

@@GMdieselman Thanks for the info. Lots of things people assume about Allis but they were great tractors. Just so it is clear though, the 7000 series offered 64 gal capacity and I've never seen one that didn't have the extra 13 gallon tank. I worked at an Allis dealer for 4 years. They all had that extra tank. Both my brother's 7030 and my 7050 have the extra tank too. I have another 7050 early blackface model that is on my restoration list and it has the extra tank. My brother is looking for an open station 7030 or 7050. We love them!
