To really succeed in this game, you want to focus on learning the Potential combos. Its a fighting game masked as a rogue game, so if you learn to do different input combos, you will get the most out of every run and just dominate. Thankfully its only a few button combos you need to know, but you get used to it pretty quickly after a few runs with each character. There are a lot of hidden effects with the more Potentials you pick up that make you do insane dmg output.

Yeah most of the inputs are just direction + attack/skill, shouldn't be a problem for someone who's used to action games.
During the omega stage, you gain currency while killing mobs, so you can get back to the shop at the beginning before entering the final boss room.

I'll say, this game really rewards having a lot of different moves and chaining them together. It's at least worth trying them out to see how they fit into your rotation.
this character is wild.
you can do the hold/heavy and tap the down button as you hold attack to splice in the down attack combo if you have it. basically giving you unlimited shred style attacks with the occasional stand heavy finisher.
My fave to do as taka is to upgrade her shadow to stay 10 sec and 3 shadow then upgrade the up circle to spawn shadows.
Basicaly get the up circle I frame and spawn 10 sec 3 shadows at the same time, even better with dash tactics
Potentials do increase damage, but I'm not sure exactly how it works. I recommend Hakumen. Hits hard, has good HP, and can parry BS. The best mind crystals are the ones that give HP flasks, +80% HP , +MP, Resurrection, and increase how much HP flasks heal. The increase HP from mind crystal level is relevant.
I love the 60+ minute videos honestly, I find them relaxing haha
All advice below assumes you get hit. If you're a god at the game and rarely get hit then damage trumps not getting hit.
Potentials: Combos that make you harder to hit. Lots of potentials with i-frames on many characters, parry mechanics and I found Noelle can stay airborne forever while still hitting enemies.
Bonus abilities: Parry and slow on dodge, especially on a characters who turn i-frames into dodge-i-frames. I'm not a parry guy so I just add whatever damage fits the build on top of jin's slow.
Tactics: Aim for red abilities. You generally need something else from another tree to do it and can view the skill trees before making a selection. You'll figure out your favorites over time and some are better for different characters and builds.
For me the best tip i can give is to get a good jin and mai legacy. Jinns pasive is time slow after a dodge. It gives you time to think, reposition and/or attack. Then mais pasive gives extra attack dmg for a bit after using your skill.
To me this makes it a lot more easy understand. Which my lizard brain that’s loves big numbers like. Okay seriously helps a lot made a lot things more understandable to me. I don’t like my stuff resetting sadly but it is what it is.
The tactic cooldowns aren't super obvious in this game, but they're on the icons at the bottom right corresponding to the ability. Also, in Space Omega press the L stick for the map.

Also would reccomend the umbra dodge combo tactics to pass around as legacy, thing is soo good man lol
I forgot that blazblue got a rougelite. Only thing missing now is bbtag season 3 😭
I think you're right, a bit more clarity on how things are connecting and maybe make it so you either know or aren't given 1 option, that part felt a bit unrewarding.

Watch your feet! skill is actually pretty good. It doesn't say it in description but I'm almost sure it gives you some i-frames when you scratch. Dodged a lot of attacks this way.

worst char so far is the spear girl...
Seeing you skip a potential was hard to watch .....you desperately need them to boost damage and get synergies/follow ups on your skills
Spinny spinny with its full upgrade is very overpowered...but you still have to use the skills,you were using the base spinny spinny for most of the run even when you had the upgrades which makes your damage less
