I still think that yes John was very upset about Freddie, just like the rest of the group. However if you watch interviews with the other members, and John himself, he was ready to stop even before Freddie’s death. He’s implying it in some of the interview clips in this video too. Also if you listen to many of the songs he wrote, he’s saying this. He wanted to stop touring because he wanted to be home with his wife and family. I’m in no way saying that he wanted Freddie to die or was happy about it. But it did give him a way out, without breaking up the band. Plus I have a feeling that Freddie probably talked John out of the thought of retiring. This is just the feeling I get after hearing so many people that know him, especially Brian & Roger and as I said, John himself. I’m glad he was able to get the life he really wanted.

I still think that yes John was very upset about Freddie, just like the rest of the group. However if you watch interviews with the other members, and John himself, he was ready to stop even before Freddie’s death. He’s implying it in some of the interview clips in this video too. Also if you listen to many of the songs he wrote, he’s saying this. He wanted to stop touring because he wanted to be home with his wife and family. I’m in no way saying that he wanted Freddie to die or was happy about it. But it did give him a way out, without breaking up the band. Plus I have a feeling that Freddie probably talked John out of the thought of retiring. This is just the feeling I get after hearing so many people that know him, especially Brian & Roger and as I said, John himself. I’m glad he was able to get the life he really wanted.
