- Last year we installed this amazing stone staircase right on the shores of Lake Michigan. Over a year later, my brother and I are installing custom steamed oak handrails, steamed on site. This process is so neat to watch and definitely adds the cherry on top to this epic Northern Michigan property!
Another Stunner Jack and Emery.
You guys are master craftsmen! Beautiful work! Bravo! 🤗🤗💜🤗🤗🥂
Gorgeous!! Your brother is quite to carpenter/ artisan /craftsman!!! Beautiful work!!! Nice to acquire these skill sets!!! 😊
Love watching your work!!!
🌿 ~Just beautiful!! 😉👍💫
WOW. I can't get over how perfect this turned out.. You put the bones in last year and this was the perfect finishing touch. Outstanding work
The workmanship and technique needed to form those handrails is amazing. Such an incredible addition to a positively stunning landscape. What Jack does with landscaping, Emory does with wood - you make a wonderful team. Jack’s boutonnière was a nice touch too. :)
Glad you liked that!!
What a beautiful display of craftsmanship on both you and your brother’s parts.
Amazing & beautiful
Such great content.
Geez Jack you had me on the edge of my seat with that one and then you all made it look so easy. Such a great railing and perfect for this project.
Jack, that was great to see you and Emory working with natural products to create a stunning garden area. The scarf joint came out perfectly which I'm guessing was not as easy as you guys made it look. Another great job!
W O W ! Thanks for showing us your brother's (and your) craftmanship. I love learning new things.
Hi Jack! Wow!! Who knew!! This video was awesome! I was amazed how Emery curved the rails!!! Why wasn't I born rich instead of beautiful so I could hire you and your team!!! LOL!! You do amazing work and I love seeing you work your magic in the landscape!! See you in the next video!! Have a great day! :)
It is wonderful to see the progress, impressive work.
Beautiful work! Staircase is stunning!
Gorgeous!

Lovely work from your brother, thank you, Jack. Please enjoy your bourbon :D
Beautiful, what artists you and your brother are. The workmanship is excellent, can't wait to visit Mackinac someday!
Nice
🤩Amazing work! A chilly Spring morning sounds fabulous as we are having a hot 90 degree July day in the Puget Sound area. 😎
Just gorgeous! Great video. I’m from Kentucky where all that good bourbon 🥃 comes from. Keep up the beautiful work and thanks for taking us along! ❤️
Hi Jack! Love your work and thank you! From Columbus, Ohio

I’m interested in seeing what you do to hide the masonry bolts. I have the same situation on my property and I have not enjoyed the look of the bolts. Never thought to have them painted. Thanks for that option.
Good quick Reflex! This is an interesting post! You all do a fine job. I'm surprised seeing everyone in hoodies/jacket this time of year. Nice work! 👍 I know the stones are heavy, but won't they shift some in time?
It's an old video. He said it was spring.
We filmed this in late spring~ and just got it edited and up~~~
The stones are all packed and set in a particular way to ensure they last a real long time and don’t move… it’s a solid staircase for sure~
@@JackBarnwellDesign Thank you, Jack :)
In my region, oak used outside isn't forever, maybe 20 years. Does this technique work with other woods that might be longer lasting in exterior applications, such as teak? Beautiful application.
Yes- but not all woods bend the same way~ you’d have to trial
Jack has traded his Felco's for a tape measure...
Great work, the staircase and handrails are beautiful! What is the annual maintenance for the oak handrails?🌻
Once a year, another coat of linseed oil-
That’s it
You showed this earlier…
Beautiful!!
