I love how seemingly non-deterministic he is in making his artworks. With mine, it’s like, once I get started down a path, I stick with it-but with him, he keeps on optimizing and changing stuff until it suits his vision best. How he made that simple drawing get incredible lighting so fast was almost like magic! Honestly, every single video Ruan Jia does is one you need to take notes on! Pretty much _nothing_ compares to his work, his process, and his quality!

The brush called "skill". No joke, you can do this with basic round brush, only thing that will be different is the texture itself, but everything else(composition, colour, render, lighting etc.) will be the same
Spent one third of the time painting three dragons, gets rid of them without hesitation

Real man, man is objectively the greatest technical artist in the world
Yeah Ruan Jia's ability to render light is crazy.
Remember that in his case, these are his freetime and mostly for fun work. This is definately not what he does on the professional pieces workflow.

The way he drew those dragons so fast was insane. Like that would have been the entire session if that were me.
And then just obliterated all that work with no fuss. God damn...

To be fair this is several hours of work sped up to be a 10 minute video
His technical ability is a marvel, but his design choices are outstanding too
Боже, как же я восхищаюсь вашими работами, Руанджиа, вы лучший художник современности🤍
My Mind was Blowing up every 30 seconds, Just WOW!!!
Gorgeous! Love these videos! 😍
This feels like one of those 'my sketchbook at 13 vs my sketchbook now' memes at the start - but good god, it's a treat to see the master at work.
