Bought your tutorial a long time ago, didn't know you had an UA-cam channel. What I like about your paintings is when you separate the light and shadow such as in 6:07, it makes it easier to see where the light is coming from and where the shadows should be
I'm not completely self-taught. During my student years and later on while working, I attended art studios and learned from teachers. Also many skills were gained through many project works. Glad you enjoy the process!
I wish I had a teacher like you here in Canada. I'm heavily considering traveling abroad to South Korea to continue my (character) art studies there, as well as work there. But, I also have no idea how to reach the level of Chinese, Japanese and Korean artists like yourself. The process used is still a mystery to me.
Perhaps changing environment and immersing into a new culture could enhance your artistic growth and future development. It’s a good way to expand your perspective and discover new inspiration. Best of luck on your art journey.
I actually learned concept art on the job rather than by taking specific courses. You might want to try searching for "concept art courses" online - I’m sure there are plenty of good courses.

I've loved drawing since I was a child and study graphic design and 3D animation during University, but it wasn't until 2008 that I truly began learning the fundamentals of traditional painting. I've been dedicated to it ever since.
Why would a geisha have blades? There are so many geisha-tools-of-the-trade publicly known out there (with a simple google) we could re-imagine as a weapon of a cyborg geisha. The hair's a stretch for its identity, but i guess that's fine. Still though, i don't think anybody would think that this is actually a "geisha, but cyborg" at first glance. Poor readability, Poorly researched, good art. 1/5 IMHO.
bro had the art finished the moment he started adding the shadows
chinese artists are truly something else
One day I will figure out how to do this... You are incredible!

what on earth is that method for drawing the head?
it's not loomis or anything else i've seen on youtube... so what is it?!
How do people even begin to learn to do this!?
From what I noticed, you started rendering the face but then switched to cel shading. Was the lighting on the face causing issues?
Very beatifull ... what version PS you use ?
I saw that you have a course, could international fans take it?
Thank you. but the course is not available in English at the moment.
Damn! you're good, how many hours of work for this masterpiece?

Fantastic work as always ❤ Is this figure taller than eight heads or is it because of the foreshortening?
Thank you! The figure is taller than eight heads.

Does a divine power whisper how this is done? How is it possible? this is a different level

Incredible. I wanna learn concept art so bad but I don’t know where to start. Where did you learn concept art/which courses did you take?
I actually learned concept art on the job rather than by taking specific courses. You might want to try searching for "concept art courses" online - I’m sure there are plenty of good courses.

how you study to get this good
I've spent many years practicing and studying various fundamental techniques such as perspective, anatomy, color theory, and lighting, while also learning through experience from many projects.
Only time and practice can build quality😅@@yuchenghong
YES!😉
so you use reference for this character design?
Yes, I gathered a lot of references for this character, including samurai, geisha, and mech elements.
@@yuchenghong its so cool bro , I hope you draw more character design like this
🔥
What layer mode for base color?
mostly overlay and soft light mode
@@yuchenghong 2 layers?
пропорции впечатляют, сколько лет вы рисуете?
I've loved drawing since I was a child and study graphic design and 3D animation during University, but it wasn't until 2008 that I truly began learning the fundamentals of traditional painting. I've been dedicated to it ever since.
What canvas size do you use?
( A3 size) 4961 X 3508 pixels
@@yuchenghong tysm, also are you going to upload more of these character design? I would love to study your process
It's not really a geisha, lol. Geisha have very specific hairstyles and hair ornaments they have to wear.
