Phenomenal job restoring that ol' MR2. Especially kinda cool that you also restored and retained the original wheels, and found some new tires that would work with them. A bit envious of the paint job, as that's the weak point on my car due to hundreds of Colorado-induced rock chips on the front end -- but I keep prioritizing the mechanicals for now. Anyway, whoever got this car (2 years ago now) was lucky it went through your hands first, for sure. 👍Hope things are going well.
We talked about the best way to get to those captured nuts for the crossmember bolts a while back (at first you thought I was one of your friends giving you shit). I only broke two though--all four and that car would have gone straight to the crusher. Possibly with me in it. I think we decided the best solution was to avoid it in the first place by not buying MR2's from Chicago. Well that, and we both had a-holes for friends. Anyway, I like your solution better though because getting at them from the top is a bitch.
Hey Mike, how much do you think is a good price to pay for a 91 NA with about 146K on the clock? Have some decent service records and looks fairly clean.
Hey man love your videos. Hope you do more in the future. I’m thinking about buying a 91 turbo model with 172k mikes for 15k super clean for having 172k on the odo. What starts to go out at around 180-200k miles on the turbo models?
It really all depends how the car was cared for. These cars and their 3sgte engine are pretty bullet proof. Make sure the head gasket is not blown and make sure the trans does not grind in any gears. Those are the 2 big ones.
@@gehringer37 thanks bro, when I was thinking about information about these cars I immediately went to this channel to ask you cause IK you know these cars like the back of your hand bro! Love your videos too hope you make more soon! :)
Wow, great job! I have a Black SW20 which is in need of some love just like this lol. Would you be willing to offer a repaint/detail service if you are within reason of where I live? lol. EDIT : Nvm I see the Michigan plates jk :(
you got the music track starting at 10:26? and absolutely beautiful car. These look so right in red with blacked out emblems. Matches the rear garnish. Music is Tunnel Run - Moog ua-cam.com/video/MxaiP04leso/v-deo.html

Hey Mike. Do you recall the color code for that red?
Crimson Red 3J6 Its the original color of the car.
thanks i believe crimson is a darker red vs super red. So hard to tell on camera.
@@bitingantz Yep super red is a lighter shade of red.
