Nice one graham, nice to see you back in it. I am hopeless at jointing tops, it’s like I’m 8 again and trying to cut my own fringe so nicely done. My 2nd build I bent a 3-4mm top over an arm carve. It was surprisingly easy, but the wood I was using had a nice bit of boing in it. Looking forward to watching this progress.
Using a shooting board like Ben did on the redwood is very cheap to build, would be useful in the future. You should end the top where the fade away begins, there will be less fade away after you mill the top down, and blend the maple into the mahogany. Love the idea!
I've used 2 of those Alegree necks before - 1 Tele and 1 Strat. The Strat neck also had the skunk stripe like yours. It's my favourite neck now. In fact my plan is to try and replicate its geometry as much as possible for my build this year.
A super strat with a maple top sounds cool. I'm curious about how much of the mahogany body you removed before adding the top. I guess I'll find out soon (when I watch episode 2).

I have a, shooting board I made for something else but found it was too short for this job unfortunately

Love the idea of a Strat with a maple top - AND an HSH setup! Happy building!
Nice wood choice
