"disappointing awkardness" will be the name of my new band
it would probably work better as a album title

Stephen makes almost every interview feel awkward
I think Stephen had to deal with some kind of shit online, or with people on the left, political. I'm saying that as someone on the left. Stephen looked angry. I just can't imagine what it would take to get him hot like that. Regardless of our beliefs: we shouldn't be dicks about it. He mentioned Bernie Sanders at the end. The joke was Jon Oliver saying "fuck you Bernie", but I think there was some real unmentioned heat there.
on my gravestone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I could watch a full show with just John Oliver speaking in different British accents.
Roger B there are about 300 of them, it would be a long show.
@@malcolmsargeant7818 Looks like a 24 episodes season. Brilliant!!
That show exists. It’s called Last Week Tonight
@@malcolmsargeant7818 Oes/Aye, its lucky they didn't call them 'British' accents in this case after another 100-200, or i'd have to go into 'Englishman mocking the Welsh/Scottish!' rage ;)
As someone who currently lives in Birmingham, I couldn't believe it when he said he was from Birmingham. I literally yelled at the TV "HES FROM BIRMINGHAM?!" lol I alwaysssss assumed he was just from London. His accent is easy to understand and quite light. You can tell he's ditched the Birmingham accent.
i can watch these two gentlemen talking to each other for ever
A weekly podcast with Colbert, Stewart and Oliver would be something of beauty
@@firsttimeisawjupiter1031 agreed
Am agree me too
@@firsttimeisawjupiter1031 Why stop there? Get Samantha B. and Larry Wilmore in on it, and the whole band's back on the road. :)
FirstTime ISawJupiter Plus Bill Maher, please:)
I feel like John spends 90% of his life laughing. And that's beautiful.
the disappointed awkwardness was perfect. these two are truly treasures of modern society
That was basically a Craig Ferguson tribute.
I feel it’s because these two have such great chemistry. Both being brilliant comics. a big thanks to Jon Stewart
"I never said it was pleasant." 😄
😂
Two blue suited males in their natural environment. Majestic
Majestic is a perfect description
Awwww man you really have to look up “John Oliver mock the week” to understand to what level this was never his natural environment (although he wears it well these days!)
Catherine Helene will do. Thanks
When I read your words, I heard David Attenborough's voice in my head.
2:50 This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but it is what peak performance looks like.
Who said I didn't like it...?
HAHAHAHAHAHA I AM THE SUPREME BEING OF UA-cam AND I AM THE UNPRETTIEST UA-camR OF ALL TIME!!! Good bye hamamad ali
Please don’t bring that joke back
That's preposterous. The pro wrestler, Sterdust has the ideal male body.
*make
Didn’t really realize Stephen had Bernie on that many times.
Stephen really likes Bernie, don't He?
@@muhammadfathonihanif5500 everyone should
Ikr? I thought the second most frequent guest would be Neil deGrasse Tyson
@@krystofdayne neil is prolly the third, would prolly be 2nd if there was either more legit reasons to bring him on or if he wasnt so busy maybe
And yet they call him a sellout for hillary just because he was mentioned in an email. 😆😆😆😆
The children of Jon Stewart
Imagine how proud Jon must be of all his comedy children! They are everywhere and they are soooooo fuxking gooooooooooodddd!!!
He could've come out from under the desk to say hello to Jon
@@randomlineofletters yeah, it's not like February is busiest farming season under the desk anyway 😊
The baton has passed. And they are worthy. Seriously, so many of his TDS correspondents have gone on to big successes. Says a lot about the original. Hats off, Jon. Because of you, I have stayed away from Bullshit Mountain. Living in Alabama, this is not easy.
@@randomlineofletters Yes! That would have been EPIC!
The way John Oliver hugs those roses is adorable 3:13
Like trump hugs flags
This thumbnail is everything!!! The pure joy on his face is both priceless and precious!!!! The 2 of them make me smile
Is this the true to life form of "Our lady of perpetual exemption"?
Praise be, for this epiphany! Send seed!
TanTheMan Truly, our mega reverend and CEO has been blessed with the messianic words of PROFIT!
TTM that piece that they did on televangelist was hilarious and true. He called out those scammers for what they really are. I’ve actually rewatch that piece a few times because it’s just so funny.

Requesting ten hours of John oliver trying on minor UK accent variations
I love how his reaction to the Sash is simply " YES. YES. YES. YES."
Well deserved British Millhouse. Already looking forward to the new season of LWT.
John’s howling laugh is amazing. He truly couldn’t control himself.
Waiting for the day when Stephen says to John "let me ask you something john" and Jon Stewart comes out of the desk without John Oliver knowing it was gonna happen
John Oliver is 100% the British Stephen Colbert.
Separated at birth....
Stephen Colbert is Irish
Or is Stephen the American Jhon Oliver??? Sleep on that one
Ary Snaza Irish isn’t British.
@@vrt1718 yes I know .i said John is British n Stephen root is Irish
Oh...the bromance between this two gentlemen!!!
Trio bromance... albeit John only loves Stephen
Awesome homage to Craig Ferguson and his Awkward Pause :)
Was kinda hoping Colbert would offer him a mouth organ at the very end.
Nice to see many people remembering the Late Late Show here :)
i just made a comment about it too before scrolling down, and i'm surprised to see that i ran into 3 related comments already, good old times.
Good to see other shows are following Craig Ferguson's interviews ending with an Awkward Pause.
Always gotta choose the awkward pause.
Nobody owns a tiara and a sash like John Oliver! Your pageant queens are shaking!!!🔥🔥🔥
The ending made me miss Craig Ferguson
ljm792 I was just thinking the same! Awkward silence or touch my glittery ball?
@@AmayaRamiel Don't forget mouth organ or THE BIG CASH PRIZE!
Craig Ferguson wasn’t as good when he offered fruit. I miss that dirty-minded man, and his hand puppets (especially Sid the Rabbit), and Geoff Peterson.
Same here.
I actually came down here to mention Craig.
I don't think my neighbors will understand what was going on while playing this. It was somewhere between the laugh of an elephant and a giraffe
Did the sound hit their ears horribly?
So between an amused trumpet and silence?? Giraffes are one of the few creatures that aren’t known to make any vocalizations. And yes, I am both fun at parties AND a sex god.
@@katelynnehansen8115 Same. I had to hold back the laughter cause I watched this at like 1 am and wanna be a respectful neighbor lol. Your comment holds up.
blaine j I tend to have offensively loud outbursts when I think something is extremely funny, and when I hold it back, it does come out like a strangled donkey, so I get it. Lol just have to take any opportunity to share my useless animal facts :)
Nice to see the long lost twins getting re-united.
They're both liberal NPCs, of course they'd be identical.
Now they just need to go out on a journey to search for their missing dad Jon...😂
I want John Oliver to keep the award. I was laughing so hard 😂😂😂. These 2 always make me so happy.
I love John Oliver!!!!! I’ve missed LWT
It's like Christmas!
My stupid brain tried to fit Late Show into that.
Next week my friend.
hello from me isn’t he gorgeous?🥰
Its not still a show, is it?
The thumbnails gives the impression that John Oliver is sporting a guy fieri hair do.
Well, he is known for his avant guarde sense of style. Last year, he parted his hair for a while. He's THAT 'on the cusp' of fashion.
I don't know enough about Guy Fieri to disprove they're not actually the same person. Has anyone ever seen them together at the same time? That would be really cool - finding out John Oliver not only hosts his comedy show, but is also an extreme chef AND sings in Smash Mouth.
regenbogenjohnny And that's evidently why it's the thumbnail
Matthew Kelly That must be why he talks so much about the Olson twins! It’s to throw everyone off the scent!
Listening to John Oliver do different English/UK accents is amazing; subtle differences for the most part but he makes them very easy to hear! Cool. :)
This pose can be the new title card for this season of LWT
I've never seen John happier than he looks in the thumbnail😊
Loving all the Craig Ferguson - Awkward Pause reminiscence going on in thé comments section.
Glad to see that show being remembered with such fondness.
Same here, i wrote a comment about it, thinking i was one of the few Ferguson watchers in here, but the people remembering the bit are numerous, good to see, loved the Late Late Show!
@@Games_and_Music True, was pleasantly surprised. The networks didn't consider Craig to have mainstream or mass appeal and thé show didn't get much publicity or funding (which conversely gave Craig some freedom to let loose, as well) but his appeal continues and has a reach beyond thé US & EU well beyond the official airing of thé show, thanks in large part to YT.
All the nostalgic comments in this section show just how loved he and his show remain. It's great to see.
I only discovered his show through second hand UA-cam clips. Once I got the joke that Ferguson hates this format as much as I do I really enjoyed it.
There was so much Craig Ferguson in this...
John Oliver is probably the most likeable person on the planet. I just love how he responds to zingers aimed at his person: with uncontrolable laughter. And you can tell Stephen is well aware, because he holds nothing back without any doubts about how it will go down. :)
Petition for John Oliver to guest star on Peaky Blinders
In the UK the Birmingham accent, often called a Brummie accent, is unkindly thought to be the least intelligent sounding dialect. The joke goes; a stupid Brummie person, who said nothing, would be considered more intelligent than a highly educated Brummie who said anything at all, regardless of how erudite and intelligent they were! It's a bit like how Deep South accent are sometimes viewed in the US.
And it seems that both of them have a drawl...🤔
Lol I love how Oliver cusses cause his program actually allows him to 😂😂
He looks so majestic
Craig Ferguson would be proud of that awkward pause
Oliver posing with the roses is actually a perfect still photo of "what is john oliver?"
i love these two
two morons
wait why did you tag me in that massive paragraph uh..
Missed John Oliver a lot. Welcome back man.
A couple of my favorite people hanging out together. Always makes me feel better to see : )
John Oliver just looks so genuinely happy with his flowers and his tiara at 3:12
Awkward Pause anybody!!!
Miss you Ferguson.
Thank GOD John Oliver is coming back! We missed you buddy!
I could watch them both forever. Like, they have such perfect chemistry together.
As a Brit, I can confirm that listening to John Oliver does indeed hurt my ears.
two absolute geniuses at work
Geniuses?!?! Really? You are aware that at least one of them is in favor of turning America into a Socialist country aren't you? There can not be anyone with an I.Q. over 110 that would think that's a good idea, let alone an I.Q. over 140. If you're looking for role models please, aim much higher. You deserve a much better role model and standard of living than what socialism could ever supply. And so do your children. Maybe things aren't always fair, but you don't make all the trees in the woods fair with an axe unless fair to you means everyone should be as poor as our poorest citizen. Maybe you do think that way,I'd rather try making everyone rich but hey that's just me.
Two of the funniest human beings! Quick witted, smart with great timing! And John Oliver's facial expressions crack me up. I LOVE it when these 2 guys get together!
It is so amazing to watch them together and aid in creating comedy gold. Exhibit A- Stephen presenting the sash and flowers and John getting excited to accept them...all leading up to awkward silence 😂😂
This made John Oliver so happy! Not even comedically. I think this really made him deeply, deeply happy. 😭😂
can john and steve make a two person comedy program? i need this so much. like need isn't even a strong enough word...
And can Jon Stewart be on it too? And can it be called “the daily show”?
John Oliver looks older than his age. I thought he and Stephen are at similar age, just found out he is 42. Stephen looks young lol
John Oliver is so cute in the way your childhood pet mouse is
I don't know how I, how we all survived without John Oliver and Last Week Tonight for so long.
Man, I'm glad it will finally come back on Sunday!
The Duke of Parrotface and Lord of Weasels
Good one, Spicy!
Hey, you are talking "Peaky Blinders" lingo. Love to listen to John.
What a very Craig Ferguson ending.
R.I.P Grandpao Talonez, 1941-2017.
R.I.P Sandron Talonez, 1945-1985.
that was a classic Ferguson awkward pose - ending!
"have you rubbed off on them?" That's a ... rather PERSONAL question, Stephen!
--Dave, I'm glad to see John knows the rule about "never above the tiara"
Can’t wait for another season of Johnny O’s Sadtastic Circus of Misery and Math!!
I feel very dainty - John Oliver, 2019
Ending the interview in awkwardness... I miss Craig Ferguson's show!
SAME! i was about to say they took a page outta the Scotsman's book
We must protect these two at all costs
1:44 Peaky Blinders: I’m gonna end this mans whole career
I really love watching them interact. Truly two geniuses of our time
John Oliver's Scouse is just 😍😍
My friend: was that a British accent?
Me: that was a Forrest Gump impression.
Barbie, who's that?
John Oliver is the Beauty Queen
It feels nice seeing John Oliver wear a tiara again. You're probably wondering when he ever wore one. He never did. Still for some reason it fits him so well it immediately felt like an improvement.
He's the most frequent guest because for once, someone gives Colbert a bump!
New Message That’s right. It’s the only reason why I sat down to watch these clips.
Long time no see
I donr know why but your profile pic just made me subscribe to you
John Oliver is so adorable. now I ship these two
John Oliver's accent is so typically British that when I first saw him introduced as the Daily Show's British correspondent I wondered why they couldn't find an actual Brit to do it. I think he's been in the US for so long that his accent is neither fish nor fowl.
John was giving off some real Michael McIntyre vibes when he was doing different British accents, and I am here for it! :)
they did a Ferguson at the end 😍
John's laugh gives me life
He’s my favourite guest to watch on this show because it’s always hilarious
John Oliver is a great guy. I saw him in person once. Super funny and followed some wise advice he gave.
When he put his foot on the desk I burst out in laughter :D
AWKWARD SILENCE AT THE END!!!!! Craig must be proud!
Love their camaraderie... No wonder he's been on so much.
But the best news?... He's back next week. YES!
That was hilarious. John Oliver really took the tiara well.
Hey now the awkward pause belongs to Craig Ferguson nobody does it better than him
John Oliver's Birmingham impression sounds like 3/4ths of Black Sabbath.
John Oliver would've been a great guest on Craig Feruson...
Come back Craig !
Yes! That show would go off the rails very fast!
John Oliver is the best!! So excited for LWT to finally start up again
*i love how much they make eachother laugh*
I need more Last Week Tonight!! I love John Oliver
Could watch these two just talk for hours through in John Stewart and Stephen Fry and think everyone would watch
The image that the children on John Oliver are walking around talking like Peaky Blinders is the best 😁😁😁
"I feel very dainty"
So nothing has changed, Englishman.
0:51 first time in John's all 11 appearances Stephen has managed to roast him. He must be feeling satisfied now
Neil deGrasse Tyson has left the chat.
I love John Oliver. I am so glad he is back.
John Oliver is the Man!!! ✊🏾🙌🏼
LOLOLOL "I think you and I are happy in this sort of, disappointing awkwardness" i'm dead.
"Is this a crossover episode?" Mr. Peanut Butter
Everyone in Birmingham sound like Michael Cane . I'd love to hear Alfred say "Go back to where you came from " then i might .
