  • I recently installed the Burris Optics Oracle rangefinding bow sight on my Hoyt Helix Ultra test bow. In this video I talk about setting everything up and sighting in. A full review will follow later this spring.

Do as I say and not as I do. Wisdom, but you do realize that you increased your skills level,......and at least your "character". Thank you 😊.

Can’t wait for a full review, I’m defiantly on the fence if these sights are worth the cost

$ is the big question with both of these. That's just a lot of cash for a sight. But I've hunting with the Garmin a couple of times and having the ability to range while at full draw is pretty awesome.

Yea that is a huge advantage maybe in the future I’ll consider making the change. For now I think I may pick up the Schaffer pines sight? I’m interested in seeing what the longevity of the ranging sights are?

@@stephenhillstrom4203 I've had the Garmin for more than a year now and it's seen a good bit of action, however, I have a lot of test bows in, so no one bow gets shot too much. Maybe 1000-2500 shots each.

I've got a couple of rifles that have Burris optics sitting on them. I really like them. I really want my to get my hands on one of these for my bow, because Burris. :D
I'm looking forward to the long term review, too.

I bought one yesterday direct from Burris... I can't wait to try it.
    Where is the long-term video?
I'm interested to see the results...

I'll put it together in a couple weeks. Still wrapping up the 2019 bow review videos and shootout.

Both the Burris and Garmin rangefinding sites are hefty. Technology is very cool, though.

I know your time has been limited with Oracle but so far which do prefer, the garmin or the Oracle?

    • @jordanpowell228

Also, could you do a complete or at least partial review of that blackgold pro? I have it on layaway at my shop but that cbe engage hybrid is very similar however i dont think its as tough nor does it have the warranty but its about 100 dollars cheaper. Your thoughts would be appreciated

@@jordanpowell228 I definitely need to do a full review on the Black Gold Pro soon. Really happy with that sight. However, I have no experience with the CBE, so I can't really compare.

I'm not ready to make that decision just yet. Ultimately, they both do what you want them to. The Oracle about three ounces heavier at about 1.1 pounds (compared to 0.9 pounds for the Garmin). I like having a 20-yard mark in the Oracle just in case things go wrong, though nothing has gone wrong yet for me with the Garmin. I really like the clear sight picture of the Garmin, though. As far as acquiring your target, ranging and letting an arrow go, there is zero noticable difference in time and ease of use. Set up for both is complicated, until you grasp what you are supposed to do (second time is WAY faster than the first). If you've got any questions, fire away and I'll do my best to help.

Well i definitely appreciate your willingness to help on the Oracle and garmin conundrum, i am mostly interested in that blackgold pro. So far your the only person in the online archery landscape to offer any insight aside from various different youtube channels checking it out at the ata show. To me, you putting it on the vertix is kinda telling

@@jordanpowell228 To be fair, that was the first bow to arrive after I got the Black Gold Pro arrived. Much like the Hoyt was the first to arrive after I got the Burris Oracle.

The Max 33 had to go back due, as there was an issue with string position. I’ll have something on the Axon 40 in the coming weeks.

If memory serves, my scale read 1.1 pounds. I'd like to tell you that you don't notice the extra weight...but I can't do that.

Mat McDaniel I’m hoping to shoot the target bow videos in a few weeks. The hunting bow videos in maybe late May.
