The latest game on Worst Game On Steam is Horror Adventure... By far this is the worst rip off in this series. The lack of actual gameplay, the poor attention to detail and overused assets for endless jumpscares, makes this the Worst Game On Steam so far.
-------
I'm WickedWiz from the What Went Wrong series coming at you with some of the most cursed indie games on Steam. This new series is for games that are so bad, that they're actually good. Worst Game On Steam, is a question that hopefully turns out to be false each time. These are games that won't fit the longer form What Went Wrong videos. - Ігри
This whole thing feels like you're not the person the ghosts are meant to haunt. You're a completely separate traveller just passing through the mansion while they set up or practice the scares for someone else.
Like... "Hey Elizabeth, make sure you do some blood writing on the wall, okay? Timothy, you're way too early on cue, wait until they're closer. Okay, I'm off, good luck!"
That's kinda adorable...
given that you don't have a shadow in this, I'd assume that you're simply one of them, just hanging out with your buds
I guess you're the only ghost who can pick up a flashlight.

13:55 I legitimately thought she giggled then ripped a mean fart.
That did not sound like a door creaking to me.
Same, laughed for a solid 5 min, especially because they're both giggling before the fart noise like a couple of idiots, it's frickin hilarious.
After reading this comment I couldn't stop laughing lmaoo
lol same
its all shits and giggles till someone giggles and shits.
You at least got to give them credit. They only needed a few cringe game reviewers to buy this to cover the cost of assets used. Everything else is beer money.
thats kinda wrong unless this came out when steam greenlight was a thing then it costed the developer $100 dollars to plaster this thing out onto the store.
@@madsoulzz2087 there's already 3 reviews on steam and we know wiz played it. if you assume maybe a couple more people grabbed it and didn't refund, you already got like $50 back from that $100. then you assume that maybe a handful of people buy the game ironically for their friends and boom, profit.
Are you all like joking? Do you think that it doesn't take time and effort to make something like this? Yes, it's crappy, but it takes many hours and of course a lots of learning to make a game.
These are made to be as cringy as possible to fonction as streamer bait/joke gifts.
A rule of thumb in terms of knowing sales numbers according to some steam sales statistics website i saw long ago is that for each review theirs between 10x to 20x people who bought a copy.
Also, there quit a few sites dedicated for
Pirating assets and preprogrammed games templates, so it could be that they lost no money making the game and at best a few weeks using the template to create new levels.
@@TimorDa i mean unity isnt that hard to learn as a beginner coder, assuming that's what they used
The developer of this game is a master of meta-horror.
The realization that you played money for this is soulcrushing and scarier than any other game I've seen.
Would be funny if that was their plan along
The only thing scary about the game is that it's 5 quid.
The real horror was the money we spent along the way.
"So I went and played the game again"
Insane.
The scariest part indeed
This game was actually so scary that they couldn't even test it

It's a tall order to create something horror-related that doesn't scare me, even when just watching a video of it. This game, however, managed to pull it off.
Jumpscares will usually make me, well, jump, which usually isn't scary so much as startling. This game was so lame that it didn't even make me react to any of its jumpscares, which I agree with you is a tall order.
If anything the jumpscares are more like punchlines. I laughed at most of them.
There was only one jumpscare I thought had potential-the one that says “Don’t Look Up.” You look up and nothing’s there, so you think oh, weird, that’s dumb. Then you happen to look back up again and there it is. Jump scares like that are decent.
Otherwise, yeah. Garbage.
Please keep making these. I do not know how one forces themselves to push through one of these games.
Yeah, I don't get it either. How could someone have enough of a sense of humor to enjoy something thats been made poorly? Thats inhuman.
The only acceptable way of being human is by being an elitist sociopath
It's a brilliant idea. There is a never-ending source of content. If you like watching people suffer through horrible games, check out the channel "Triple jump" they have a series called "worse games ever". They've been doing it for years so there is a treasure trove of horrible games. They don't play the full game but it's still fun to watch.
@ahh thats just grand Sounds like someone is a programmer for a shit game lol
@@ahhthatsjustgrand6502 Well you can go play the trash while the rest of us enjoy what we spend money on.
@@franzosisch5965 you probably have the fiscal resources for bad games, but you clearly do not have the emotional intelligence to make it through them without breaking down and crying
Someone who played the VR version here! No the game isn’t scarier in the slightest, me and some friends were completely dumbfounded by this experience, and the game isn’t procedurally generated. Game of the year 10/10 Would walk cycle through assets again.
I feel like they say its procedurally generated as an attempt to excuse the game having misplaced objects and such.
@@undefinedghetto Probably, but that may be giving the dev/s too much credit as i doubt they know the meaning of the phrase
i mean they could be saying that the maps were procedurally generated in their creation, and not each individual walk through. I kinda believe them considering the marketplace has had multiple random room generators drop for free. But you would think that maybe theyd fix some of the errors made in them if theyre going to use the end result as a static playthrough. The fact they didnt even do that just makes me think they threw assets into a generator, sprinkled some assets with animations in and called it a day. All of the "enemies" are just models with an animation attached pointed in the direction that they hoped made sense; half the time it didnt because the players isnt standing where they anticipated the player to actually be standing. Could probably fix those by giving them just enough logic to focus on the player instead of pointing them where you hope they are standing and it would take 30 seconds to achieve that. But i think ive already put more thought into this than the devs did
This had to be the most painful to play so far
Yea. You can tell how mad he was getting throughout it.
"No, we have Layers of Fear at home"
I thought the same lmao
i love how u can just smack the baby jumpscare to the ground

"Hey Jerry hows the game playin?"
"-It doesnt"
"Aight ship it!"
"For some reason it's worth eight pounds and fifty pence"
No, it *costs* eight pounds and fifty pence. There's a huge difference.
What do you mean what you just mentioned both are the exactly the same
@@giorgospapoutsakis5271 Imagine you saw a dog turd for sale, and the price tag said a million pounds. The dog turd *costs* a million pounds, but is it *worth* a million pounds?
The price of something is not the same as the value of that thing. That's the difference between "cost" and "worth".
@@superscatboy ok but what if the dog turd is worth it tho
Turning the npcs into ghost so you don't have to program the collision is a baller move. I feel like this got turned into a "scary" game.
Bawler
making collision is not that hard, it takes few extra minutes
I mean, in unity collision is just a check box, only one click and no programming required
@@benjadryl_7393 i think for Unity it's actually a checkbox to DISABLE the collision, as it's included by default
@dopesickdog No, you have to add it yourself. It's super simple, though.
Steam is the gift that keeps on giving, even if sometimes the gift is a pile of crap in a box.
Steaming pile of crap**
This commentary is gold. "Get the bannisters right." "It's another room." "I looked up." "You can't be an asset stuck in the corner."
The BOYS
This feels like how if Gordon Ramsay was a gamer
I actually found this to be the scariest horror game so far. The thing that truly scares me is that this game is $10 or maybe $11 with taxes. I could buy 2 frozen pizzas from Walmart for roughly that price.
And those two frozen pizzas would probably provide more entertainment and joy.
hell you could get 4-6 if you go with totinos
The screams genuinely scared me. I wasn't watching or paying close attention to the video because I was "watching" it during work and there was suddenly a loud scream and I was like "Fuck! My ears!". So, congrats to the devs for making a game that can only scare you if you are only half paying attention and not when you are actually playing it.
Wicked Wiz , being a man of his word and standing on your banister
Honestly, I'm not interested in these games at all, but watching Wiz suffer through them is entertaining
the main menu doesnt have an option to exit the game, once it starts, there is no going back, truly a horror experience
I'm going to be honest, I miss when people used to play bad games and rip them apart.
I love that the first thing to scare him was just a physics bug
Nice of the developer to give a breathing role to his dog.
Love how alot of the scares are just sounds randomly playing and spooky stuff just spawning in and then despawning, truly a masterpiece of a game 10/10
33:50 "I don't even know what's it's called, but I know what they've done." You'd probably call it backface culling. When making models, each surface is given a direction that it's visible from (the 'normals'), with the opposite side generally excluded from being rendered by default. This is actually an optimisation technique, since otherwise every surface could be rendered twice, but obviously the idea is those angles shouldn't be visible in the first place.
21:34 Boy, you weren't kidding about this game being an asset flip, because this is literally a room from Layers of Fear
I love how the creator of this game has no ability do differentiate between comedic timing and horror timing. As a result, most of the jumpscares are timed in a way that's just comical.
As a horror game it's 0/10. From a technical standpoint, it's also a 0/10. But as accidental comedy, it's at least a 5/10.
It's just a matter of time before horror game flashlights illuminate the diameter of a dime.
That one person who liked, I appreciate you.
I have never wanted a developer to make a Digital Homicide-style response video as badly as I do now. I want the dev to try to pretend this is actually a good game.
15:31 "i hear a baby over there..."
ghost: NO WORRIES BRO ILL GO CHECK IT OUT
Non-scary things flying around trying to jump scare you, but don't work because there is no risk. Then you randomly touch stuff to open a door and get teleported to a new area. But, enough about Layers of Fear, what is this game like?
I don't know why but the simple sight of the baby on the ground getting kicked around while it still keeps character and spins its head around just cracked me up so bad
I love how the only time it successfully startled me was unintentionally, and it was the twitchy baby flying across the room because he accidentally knocked it off the table. It was the most actual movement any of then had, and it was completely by accident.

Your ability to find the best trash on steam is legendary. You’re ability to make it entertaining to watch us god tier.
Once I discovered this series on your channel, I watched all of it. Please, never stop making this videos.
Having seen the whole video now, the entire thing seems more like the kind of world I used to go through when I was on VR Chat. Just hastily cobbled together nonsense with a vague and almost non-existent story, but mostly just a bunch of harmless jumpscares in a row.
I feel like this game was made by someone not only inexperienced on game development, but also the concept of horror itself, like thinking that slapping on Zombies, cannibalism, the Ring girl and some Kid dolls would make the game terrifying and worth the price it doesn't deserve.
10:23 scariest part of the game hands down, seeing my ugly ass face in the reflection nearly gave me a heart attack
The jumpscare secret that game devs DONT want you to know about:
It's niche I know but the plant-based scares bother me because I am legitimately afraid of plant roots and certain patterns that evoke it. Turns out those plants specifically get me too.
Plus some plants are like totally out to get us.
There was a whole movie about it, The Happening.
There was also Swamp thing and Poison Ivy.
@@Gatorade69 They don't call deadly nightshades what they do for nothing. Actual menaces.

my best guess for the fast rotation issues on both mouse and controller, is that the rotation speed is locked to the fps.
So, probably the only solution is to use something like nvidia control panel and manually set FPS limit to 60 or 30.
10:10 They squashed the wall texture to make it fit above the door instead of cutting it...
I think the heavy breathing is supposed to be your character scared
@@ChaosPootato so they chose heavy breathing. My man really is taking Andrew's advice literally.
i will give the dev a "at least u tried" award
Oh my god... that's the true horror, The game never ends. Some say, he still sits at his desk.. waiting to be jump scared.
This game really reminds me of the first unity game I worked on in class. We had groups of 3-4 people with 1 week to make a walking simulator in unity.
In short, our game was a dimly lit horror game with definietly not a slanderman model randomly spawning in at trigger points and hunting the player.
The problem is... we coudn't get the monster to kill the player. So it really was just definietly not slanderman running at the player while intense music played, but literally nothing happened when it reached you.
This game really gives that exact same vibe, but with like a month of extra work, and with a different setting. Its really funny.
9 pounds for this crap. As an indie game dev myself, this is infuriating! Btw, subbed for this series, please continue I love it!
The Steam VR overlay is truly the scariest jumpscare of all

Horror Villa... Horror Adventure... What's next, Horror World?
You mean World of Horror lmao.
Kinda want that framed zombie doll thingy to hang in my creepy basement now.
I can see why this was originally a VR game, the only way for anyone to get scared at it would be with a screen stuck to their eyes making them suffer with playing it
The "B" keybinding for menu stand for "Bad Control Scheme", obviously.
Truly one of the adventures of all time
Can you imagine how nausea inducing this would be in VR?
This has truly been a adventure, which has horrifying
The vertices (triangles) that make up a 3d model are see-through on the back to optimize performance. You can make a material (the colors) double sided but they haven't done that either.
The demon being up on the ceiling fan sent me into hysterics, how did the game devs not realize how funny that is, I about pissed myself
Maaaan, this game is so bad that even Wiz's jokes can't save me from killer boredom.
The painting shaking was a golden moment :DDDDD
The way he breathes at the end of the game is just hilarious. I think he might really be into the whole ghost haunting thing.
'"Go back or did" yeah I've seen that before'

I think that loud heavy breathing is supposed to be the player, but the sound spawns and remains where the player was, rather than emanating from them.
I can only imagine what this would of been like in VR
the way you talk brings so much joy!
I immediately clicked on this when this newest video popped up because I knew it's gonna be good
I don't know if anyone noticed but the "camera projector" the rewind sound was just Nyan cat sped up really fast......
I love your reactions during this game and how much your just laughing at it. Love your videos of these horrid games 🤣 Can't wait for more!
this is fucking hilarious, the sparkly penis torch and the janky ghosts are rediculous, and then the alignment and general design are the icing on top. XD
You KNOW the game will be something when the banner art is just all of the jumpscare assets T-posing around a dinner table.
EDIT: Second way you know this is a REAL horror game... because they obviously put the painting of Saturn Devouring His Son somewhere in the game.
14:21 Dirty Mike and the Boys. "... with fingers in each others pooper while listening to talk radio. Really loud. It's going to be a nice evening".
You're not seeing ghosts, you're just dizzy from all the spinning.

The scariest part about this game is the architectural and engineering atrocity that this house is
17:35 The absolute delight in his voice after realising he could kick a baby.
to be fair, people go to theme parks and pay 10 to go on a ride that lasts like 2 minutes after waiting on line for 20.

...I think you just named the next new Steam horror game lol
I love your channel and your content, please keep doing what you do if u like making these
"Anyway, after kicking around the baby on the floor-" great quote there
I think the idea was that in VR the player would use the point to move system, so each time they moved forward would be a jump scare, and they wouldn't immediately walk past the area where the jump scare happens. That doesn't excuse how bad this all is, but it would at least make some sense.
Or the game is just really bad, even in VR. The definition of shovelware. They just crap out super cheap games on every marketplace. These "developers" are incredibly shady too. Not much thought went into this or any of their games.
40 mins videos are a gold mine in this successful series for both our Wiz friend here and us.

I adore these videos ❤ Thank you for going through the dumpster. These videos are amazing😊
It's so hard to tell what's a glitch and what's programmed as a scare with these bad horror games.
This is a fun series to watch. Thanks for experiencing these things so I dont have to.
I was just binging this series yesterday, so excited to see another upload.
To be fair those walls look like what my landlord tried to leave me with after a pipe burst
They thought they were creating doom by aligning that flashlight in the center
Re 33:50, the thing where a surface is only visible from one side is called “back-face culling”. It’s one of the most basic graphics optimizations (so basic it’s on by default in most engines), but still trips up people who aren’t aware of it. It lets the GPU skip drawing the side of a surface you can’t see, which is typically about half of the surfaces when looking in any given direction.
That’s usually a safe optimization since “flat” objects like walls (or even actual paper!) are typically modeled as a box with textures on all sides and some amount of depth/thickness, but this dev used single-surface walls in a lot of places (the paper-thin ones), hence them disappearing when looking from the back…
These videos are such a treat, in a sadistic way… lol
I like how as this series goes on, your voice really has that 'I've seen some shit' vibes
"Oh, for f...for Christ's sake!" Well caught, sir.
I like how frantic the camera looks considering it makes him look scared but no, its just because of the stupidly high sensitivity
I paid 10$ for this when it first came out, the only part I enjoyed was the 3 zombies on the couch watching TV.
One day I found this game on the Playstation Store and saw it's cheap trailer. Ever since, me and my friends have used this game as an insider. It is nice to see someone playing such cheap game for us, so we can make fun of this game even more
14:26 - idk why, but seeing this segment with the boys just hanging out, slowly "marching" towards you, it played Michael Jackson's thriller in my mind
