Hey Nick Ackerman? Can you break down whether the p20 pro is better for the money than the p20 lite? I know that the lite is actually cheaper but is there a huge difference between the 2?
Luke Vannote I swapped my p20 lite for the p20 (not pro). There is a huge difference in speed, screen quality and most of all camera quality. The p20 lite is certainly not bad for the money, but p20 is just in a whole other league. That said, I didn't feel the need to upgrade further to p20 Pro. The bigger size doesn't appeal to me, even though the camerea and screen are better still.
Just recieved my P20 Pro after using a first Pixel XL for near on 2 years...After much research I took a chance on the P20 Pro and I have to admit, I am very impressed. Really nice to hold, great functionality and for work, the battery life is just stunning. I was worried about there emui skin on Android, but needn't have been as it works more than well enough and surprisingly with not too much bloatware. The stand out feature is the camera which is simply great and even the video, especially at 1080 is not to bad at all. Overall, well done Huawei..

The battery life alone makes this a compelling option. Lack of headphone jack is still a deal breaker for me.
Yes thats the second most impressive thing about this phone! I have not seen a flagship Android phone with this kind of battery life ever. Headphone jack removal sucks I agree, but at least the ldac high quality wireless listening in the phone to kind of makeup for it
Lutsi It's not about Huawei and non-Huawei phones. If your phone's battery capacity is low, it probably won't last long. The P20 Pro has this amazing battery life not just because of its software, the insane battery capacity plays the main role here!!

I don't understand why people keep complaining about the lack of a headphone jack. I mean, Bluetooth headphones are great! way more convenient than going around with the cable hanging from your pocket/bagpack/hand to your ears. Like why is it a deal breaker? Why do you prefer wired headphones?
U can change the home screen style into drawer its cleaner, look for it in the settings. Anyway nice review i love my huawei too.. Ur shots are amzin.. As for the jack it has an extra so no prob with it.. But the earphones alone plus the dolby atmos plus the firmware just wow
My girlfriend has the P20 Pro and I have the LG V30, after doing many tests the LG V30's battery last much longer than the P20 Pro.

Also the kirin 980 being placed in the Mate 20 with 4200mah is going to be a beast of a phone. Battery life would be substantially better even though the P20 pro has great battery life. In fact much better than what the S9 plus can achieve

Im more into battery life and other features. When I travel, i have a Lumix camera for best pics. This phone is great for quick pics on the go, but will not be my main feature.

I only agree about battery. For me is video recording one of most important feature of a camera.

Video in 1080 is plenty. Nobody can seriously operate 4k on a phone.
How is video recording in low light? Is it with less noise because of the bigger sensor?
What carrier are you using the phone with? If At&t how is the reception? And do you get full LTE support with volte?

Do you think I should go for the P20 (not the Pro) at €350, or for the Galaxy S9 Plus with a Samsung wireless charger as a gift, at €700?
The P20 will be brought in cash, while the Galaxy is €30 a month for two years.
Obviously, the S9 Plus is the overall better phone, but I do like some things from the P20 because of the camera, apart from the videos.
If I get the S9 Plus, it will be two-years old when I make the last installment for it, while the P20 is half the price and in cash... I'm leaning towards the P20, but I'm asking for your advice. Do you think the S9 Plus is worth the deal, and do you think it will be completely obsolete in around two years?

Galaxy s8-s9 is my perfect phone, beautiful display, beautiful design,, headphone jack, expandable storage, no lag... and no notch!, It is the only one who does not follow the steps of Apple.

I switched from an iphone6s this year to a huawei and any new phine I will get inhe future will definitely be an Huawei.
The no 4K stabilization is one of the reason? How about wobbling on a flat surface? Or the iPhone X copy paste? And the list may continue 😉
KeonXD S9 + for example has 4K stabilization. All I wanted to say is that P20 Pro, besides the AI processor and the camera is an iPhone copy, no inventivity, 😴 and for sure it's not the best phone on the market.

Photos from normal, auto mode taken by 10mp sensor are oversharpen. It sucks.
People always seem to moan about these notches on these phones, I don't even notice the notch when I'm using mine so it doesn't bother me at all neither does the fact it doesn't have a headphone jack, I hate the 7 plus before so I'm used to it.

Im using a mate 10 pro at the moment but really unsure whether to buy a p20 pro or s9+ camera is importamt but so is display the os doesnt matter i use lean launcher so its pixeled up lol nice an clean

Nick, iphone X was not the first phone to have a notch. The first phone to have a notch was an android phone, the essential phone. So huawei couldn't be emulating the design as you said.

The biggest problem of this camera, is missing OIS in 4K video recording...
When comparing to other flagships its pretty bad, but on the flip side just how much better a 4K OIS video is in the other flagships that's how much better battery life is on this phone vs say an S9 Plus. Still they need to improve this. Hoping for a software update fix

Yes I agree that shouldn't be there that's why I dont think it deserves a design award, but the cameras and battery life make this a very practical daily phone

Everyone thinks that Android is copying apple by making phones with the notch but the truth is that the first phone to have a notch was the essential phone so apple copied them. Google copied apple in other stuff but not the notch.
Actually when essential phone was released, we already knew what iPhone X would look like, so essential phone was the real copy :)

Your Trash Well Essential phone was released first and they weren't even trying to copy the leaks. The essential phone's notch is so small. The Essential phone was just trying to shrink the bezels so they have an all screen phone. Android phones have been trying to shrink the bezels long before Apple. Apple also copied Android in having an app store and home screen pages. Android and Windows phones had wireless charging before Apple, and Google had Face unlock since Android 4. Google copied Apple in alot of things too like trying to copy imessage and making a smartphone because the first modern smartphone was iPhone 2G. All companies copy each other and that's how technology improves.
