- In this video, we will talk about when I received Medical Surveillance undertaking letter right after I got my COPR. Here we will show what we followed when we reached Canada and how we started with our #medical #surveillance ,how we connect to other people on same boat.
You are required to send Toronto Public Health, an email targettb@toronto.ca within the 30 days upon your arrival or upon receiving an email from IRCC. In the email, you must include:
Full Name
Country of Birth
Date of Birth (YY/MM/DD)
Current Address
LocalTelephone number (Toronto number)
UCI number
Date of Arrival (YY/MM/DD)
Also, attach a copy of the IMM535 form. Once you have sent us an email, the first part is completed.
(30 day, you are just reporting to us).
2. Next, you have to wait for #toronto Public Health to send you a letter along with a form. IMPORTANT: It could take a few months to receive the letter and form due to shortage of staff. Please be patient and wait. Once you have received the letter and form. You can take the letter and form to any doctor or healthcare provider of your choice and complete the assessment. * IMPORTANT- You are required to find your own doctor or healthcare provider to complete this assessment. *
3. After your #doctor /healthcare provider has faxed the forms and medical reports/X-ray to Toronto Public Health, a nurse will assess the results. This may take 6-10 weeks. Please be patient.
* You are required to be in #canada while doing Medical Surveillance.

Hi I didn’t received medical surveillance letter with my visa as I had past history of tb but after one month reaching in Canada I received email to update contact details for medical surveillance . I did X-ray but doctor was not fully aware about process . So it messed up. Should I go to other doctor.

Hi I have recently been diagnosed with TB. It happened to me when I was in Canada, but I was not given the proper medical care so after 6 months with no lead found there I came to India n here just in 2 days they did declare it’s TB they are saying I need to wait long for my process but my study visa will get expired and I need to go back by 28th. My question is should I inform my college about the condition and if I do so is there any restrictions because it won’t be cure till I reach Canada, so will they let me in? Should I tell them or not?

Hi @feelalive7123 - Thanks for the comment. Yes you need to contact them after landing, but make sure to carry all your previous reports and medications artefacts.
I have received medical surveillance letter along with CoPR, I am planning for soft landing during this September for a 10 days stay and how do i need to proceed with medical test and doctor appointment in Canada
Hi @tejaswirayaprolu3866 - Thanks for the comment. It's really good you are doing soft landing. However, we would suggest you to get in touch with your nurse at the earliest. From there you can inform your nurse about your plans. If in any case you are not able to get hold of Nurse, we would suggest do email the authorities about your plans, but this will be a long route.. See if you can get a Nurse ASAP. Hope this helps.
Hi. I just got this "Medical Surveillance Undertaking" form on my IRCC Portal 5 days after I recieved my PPR. Do i necessarily have to show this form at the port of entry to the immigration officer? Secondly, will this create any trouble in my student status? Will this impact my condition of working part time while on my student permit? Kindly answer.

I started my tb treatment from the recognised IRCC doctor from bangalore where he recommended for 6 months meditation which is from June 15th to december 15th , but in which i dont have any symtoms of tb. From the doctor said he said me after 6 months of meditation you are good to go. Right now i have completed 3 months of meditation and i defered my course to January. And my questiom to you is i will be applying for visa this month end with my medical status updated ( tb treatment on going ) so will they approve my visa now or will they wait till my meditation course ends which is on december 15th ?

Hey.. no there should not be any delay to getting PR card. If you are on medical surveillance.
I recently got my visa and before getting i was diagnosed with tb and im under my medication and its been 2month , and my dr prescribed me for the travel and for my medicine do i need to inform it on immigration at airport ? Can i get free treatment after i land in canada .? I am on my sowp visa , i will be land on july3
Hi @maheshmahato2452 - Thanks for the comment. In our opinion Yes you should inform the officials at the airport, also carry your supporting documents with you, prescriptions, medications and fit to travel certificate from your doctor. Get well soon. Hope it helps.

Hey I recently took tb meds back in India for 7 months I came Canada in mid of December now I’ve to get done with this medicine surveillance. I’m studying at a Humber college my college has provided me morcare medical insurance so my question is if I pay money for this entire chest expect appointment and X-ray procedure from my pocket will be get claimed by the medical insurance ( one that college has offered) or this entire procedure is taken care by the ircc/ Toronto healthcare ???
You can check with your insurance providers. Mostly you can get it reimbursed.
My husband also got the medical survilliance document from IRCC.I just want to know what documents he has to carried from India regarding his medical?
Just the documents related to his medical history if he has any!

Hello, I got medical surveillance letter for the same code. I don’t have TB but I have done tests where my doctor said that I have sarcoidosis. It is a long term disease and for which I am taking oral steroids. The doctor in my country told me to take it for atleast 6 months. However next month I will be landing to canada. Will I tell the doctor over there about my current health situation and also show my reports and prescriptions? Also when can I expect my PR card?

Hello, I Thank You for making this video and sharing all the details. I recently received my Visa and the same Medical Surveillance Form. I will not ask the same question again which others already asked. My question is - I was diagnosed with TB back in 2015, at that time I properly took all the medications but didn't keep any medication documents as I was unaware that it will be required in the future (after this long) and at that time I was not even planning for Canada. So what to do if you don't have any proof to show that you took all the necessary antibiotics and precautions?

I got the same medical surveillance form. I recently came to Vancouver and shown that letter to the Immigration officer at the port of entry and they suggested me to call Health Canada Vancouver for further steps. When I called the Health Canada centre they said like they’ll only call and it’ll take couple months of to reach as there is a lot of population. My question is Should I wait till that time or should I call them again?

Hi @ramprasadpuli - Thanks for the comment. First of all welcome for your landing and secondly yes it takes a lot of time for them to get back in areas such as Toronto and in this case Vancouver. Usually in these big cities total process time is around 1 year. So Don't worry they will contact you back. Also, just for proofing you can send them mail as well stating your details and where to contact you back. Hope this helps.

To answer your question, in our letter it was specified that the PR/Visa is only provided on conditional basis that this surveillance should be conducted in a proper manner. So in our opinion we should respect that and go with the process. Hope it helps.

Hi @user-jj4ei5kd2x - Thanks for the comment. First of all there is no need to panic. At the time of immigration they will just let you know that within 30days of entering in Canada you have to report your whereabouts to the department. Nothing else. Hope this helps.

Hi bro I also get medical surveillance letter from the ircc . When i call the service ontario they told to get recognition letter before book appointment by any of the doctor. As soon as i visited to medical centre and told the doctor about recognition letter. They again told me to put tb vaccination injection and give me tym of 48 hours to read my skin bcz it was a skin test regarding tb . When i viaited doctor after 48 hours they checked me and said that my reading report is negative and again said to make appointment on the given number given on medical surveillance letter to book appointment and submitted letter of tb vaccination. Plz tell me what to do and how i can done my medical process 😢

If it is already done, then there is nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the comment. No nothing as of now, once you land then follow the instructions.
You can only self report to PHA in Ontario province for other provinces just email medical surveillance email and wait. Public Health Authority (PHA) in your province will contact you for appointment then only you can go. Full information is not avaliable anywhere.

I am going on study visa and i also recieved this survelliance letter but as your whole process was funded by the candian govt but when i call in health canada they told me to go walkin clinic and when i visit the clinic they are charging me for the whole process like they are taking consultation fees , xray fees etc why they are charging me so much cost ????

Hi @varunthakkar6349 - Thanks for the comment. Yes ours was govt funded and covered under OHIP. In your case we think, you need check what can be covered under your university health card and the uncovered part you have to borne the expenses. Hope it helps.

They will not allow you to go there if they find TB symptoms or they will arrange extra medical than normal in India.....
BUT bro don't be in a hurry to get in Canada cure your TB in India otherwise u'll face difficulty in Canada because here in Canada appointments are too late so, don't come here without completing your TB course.

Sir I also get medical surveillance letter from Ircc . When I call service ontario to book appointment they told me get recognition letter by any of the doctor . And when I visited doctor they see my medical surveillance letter and put me injection of vaccination regarding tb which is also called skin test and it was negative now they told me book my appointment and submit this 2 letters to the Ircc .

Hi @himanshu1098 - Thanks for the comment. First of all congratulations for your visa, if you are on medications thats really good. Just keep all your medications for the amount of time they are specified also have each and very documentation related to your doctor visits in India, do raise a webform informing about your travel plans and tb as well. Nothing you will be assigned a nurse here, you can present all your docs to her then she and your doctor will further advice. Don't panic everything will be alright. Here everyone's intentions are clear they just want to see you fit and tb free. Hope it helps.

My tb test was ok but they wrote severe scoliosis in other findings due to which my overall chest x ray was abnormal.I went to a private doctor and he said its mild scoliosis which doesn't require any treatment.its scoliosis with 23 degrees. now i am worried will it affect my uk visa as my lungs are totally fine.

It is free for PR holder, for students we would highly recommend reaching out to our university insurance guys.

Hi sir, I’m frm india. I got tb while doing medical test for immigration. I’m currently under medication and my treatment cannot be completed before the start of the semester. I have asked college about deferring my program to next semester but I haven’t got replied yet. I’m very worried about my tuition fees that I’ve already paid to the college. I went through the college fees refund and it says I’ll have full refund in the case of visa rejection. Since I cannot complete my visa application without clearing medical test. Recently I went to the immigration hospital for 2nd month follow up of my report. Is there anyway to complete my visa application with auch medical test?

In our opinion we are sure that college will defer you for the next semester as you have a genuine reason and without medicals they will not grant you visa. Hi man. I want to ask you one thing that I am highly concerned about. Here is the case. I applied for study permit, completed my upfront medical exam with a grade and submitted them. However, 2 days ago I just got this medical surveillance thing as correspondence letter without passport request attached. Can't find any meaningful answer to my case. What is your opinion? Should I be worried? Or will my passport request will be shown in the portal soon? I don't know if i fill it by myself and send them back or what exactly. Thanks.
Hi @abbasov3340 - Thanks for the comment. In our opinion if it is the same letter, then it should not impact passport request and you should be getting the same. Also, you do not need to fill in then send them back you just need to carry it with yourself. Hope it helps.
