As if I came into a fairytale forest, so beautiful. This really has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. Fantastic from start to finish. Here I also add the version of the artists I mentioned. Unfortunately there is no better recording of it, has not been released on CD as far as I know, but it is on LP. For me is the version of Marco and Charles the very best. But that's also because I'm a chauvinist. 😃😃

I jars to hear the voices augmented through the microphones. They are both wonderful singers so I’m sure it sounded a thousand times better live. The voices just don’t blend well in this recording. I have heard Bryn Terfel sing this live in a concert in Caernarfon Castle with Gwyn Hughes’s Jones. It sounded ethereal, so I’m sure that this live performance would have done too.

I notice also other things: I thinks Bocelli rushes often and sings with tenderness but he can do better. ( imho , I am no professional singer so i could be wrong). You can't kill this music but still this these people are not at their best, I think too.

This performance demonstrates the deficiencies of ‘popera’; it takes knowledge and training to understand and appreciate the nature of vocal performance, just as it is required to perform. Unfortunately there are just too many people out there lining up to pay money for this kind of revue entertainment ( look at the size of the audience and their enthusiasm). A cash grab too easy to pass up. And ultimately harmless. Perhaps such a performance may even prompt some to become more serious. Check out Andreas Scholl, ombré mai fu and glimpse heaven.
