Maybe in Pikmin 5, Olimar could bring his family(wife, son & daughter, pet dog named Bulbie) to an expedition on the Pikmin Planet to explore it, find treasures & gather food…?🤔
If you're getting an ever-repeating email from day to day, it means that you've exceeded all of the emails you could get at the point in the story you're currently in. For your specific situation, if you'd like to resume getting new emails, you'll have to save Louie.
Am I the only one that believes that Olimar is the villain of Pikmin 2? In Pikmin 2, Olimar was so ungrateful for the president’s kindness. Throughout the debt, the president was fine with Olimar taking his time with repaying it (until the second 3,000-4,999 poko email), gave Olimar a promotion (first 3,000-4,999 poko email), regularly thanked Olimar for collecting treasures, and gave Olimar advice. When the president began rushing Olimar to repay the debt out of fear of the loan sharks’ threats, Olimar refused to hurry. Olimar expressed hostility against the president in his notes for the toxic toadstool. Olimar desired to torment the president because he was rushing Olimar to repay the debt when he only wanted to write notes on the treasures. (Olimar clearly stated that he’s desiring revenge only because he wants to keep writing treasure notes, not because of being stopped from seeing his family or having the S.S. Dolphin taken away.) During the president’s capture (fifth through tenth 8,000-9,999 poko emails) the president complains about Olimar repaying the debt even more slowly. (Given no other explanation throughout the game for why Olimar would repay the debt slower, I have no choice but to think that he’s doing it to torment the president.) According to the email where the president admits to being captured, the loan sharks were threatening to bury the president (alive?) in a swamp. The president soon offers to pay Olimar any bonus in an effort to be saved quickly and Olimar exploits the offer (i.e. double the normal), but continues to repay the debt slowly. Only when the president says that he’s just about to die, Olimar repays the debt completely. (Throughout these emails, the president is in complete distress and is begging for Olimar to save him.) Given how long Olimar repaid the debt at a slower pace, there’s no denying that he waited for the president to nearly get killed. (On a side note, the seventh
Despite causing trouble during Pikmin 2, Louie isn’t evil. Louie did cause the company debt; however, he only ate the golden pikpik carrots because of his ravenous appetite. (Not out of malicious intent.) He tried to resist his growing hunger pains, but the hunger pains became too much for him. Louie doesn’t eat the juvenile bulbmin. In his bulbmin recipe, he wrote brats short for ‘bratwurst,’ not as in ‘the juveniles.’ The ingredients he adds (e.g. dijon mustard and sauerkraut) are actual ingredients commonly added to bratwursts. Louie stating that buns can be added, makes it more clear that he wrote brats short for ‘bratwurst.’ Louie didn’t intend on staying behind on the planet because he was visibly confused and worried throughout the first half of the cutscene. During the second half of that cutscene, Louie became calm and seemed to enjoy being on the planet, but would still like to return home. It’s unlikely that Louie was controlling the titan dweevil. For one thing, Louie demonstrated no anger during the cutscene of him being stranded; therefore, lacking any malicious intent towards Olimar. The Hocotate Ship said just before and after the titan dweevil battle that he was unconscious while on top of the creature. In the ship’s notes for the King of Bugs, it claimed that Louie controlled the titan dweevil. However, the Hocotate Ship’s explanation for how Louie controlled the titan dweevil is absurd, even for the franchise. Olimar of course is going to assume that ‘the King of Bugs’ implies Louie controlled the titan dweevil. Louie’s grandmother’s emails appear to subtly imply Louie’s reasoning for wanting to be called the King of Bugs. Her emails seem to imply Louie wants to be called the King of Bugs because bugs have a special liking to nibbling on him (Louie is the bugs’ favorite person to nibble on). Considering the fondness of Louie that the bugs have, it doesn't seem that unlikely that's why Louie wants to be called the King of Bugs.
@@Pro_GameMaster888 Here are the 5 biggest reasons why I believe Olimar is not a hero (not in order): 1) His treatment of the president in Pikmin 2. 2) In Pikmin 3, Olimar accidentally got the sentient Hocotate Freight Ship killed in a piloting crash. Instead of feeling remorse, Olimar insults the deceased spaceship in the data file he left by it. Olimar despised the spaceship for criticizing his reckless piloting of it. Apparently, Olimar believes that his reputation as a pilot is more important than the sentient spaceship’s safety. The Hocotate Freight Ship was sentient, so Olimar essentially committed manslaughter. As if insulting the spaceship wasn’t heartless enough, Olimar feigned sympathy for it when informing the Koppaites of its death. Olimar said, “My spaceship is sadly out of commission.” Whilst saying that, Olimar was visibly smiling. 3) Olimar is a terrible colleague to Louie in Pikmin 3. Olimar repeatedly neglects Louie in the survey logs and adds callous remarks in response to Louie’s suffering. Olimar disposed of all their suit upgrades without any regard for Louie’s need for them. Olimar stated in the ‘To Future Visitors’ data file that he disposed of the scorch guard because he doesn’t want it anymore. Olimar neglects Louie’s need for more food, as he is only interested in his own interests and not Louie’s. Olimar calls Louie inconsiderate and selfish in several data files (which also makes Olimar a hypocrite). After repaying the debt, Olimar brought Louie to the Formidable Oak against Louie’s will. Olimar acknowledged in the Oak Survey log and in the first data file that Louie was warning him to not enter the area, but disregards the warnings. Olimar even acknowledged his complete disregard for Louie’s safety in the Oak Survey log with the statement, “Where’d he get to, anyway? Well, it doesn’t matter.” After being saved by the Koppaites, Olimar denigrated Louie’s reputation to them. Olimar asked them with shallow body language (in contrast to learning that Louie was saved) if Louie stole their food supply. Olimar being distraught by Louie being saved while being practically emotionless when asking if Louie stole their food, gives the implication that Olimar wasn’t worried that Louie would have stolen from them and just wanted an excuse to make them hate Louie. In the assignment report for day 4 of Olimar’s Comeback, Olimar expressed worry about Louie being by himself, but didn’t express why. In the next assignment report, Olimar admitted that he was worried that Louie wouldn’t be working hard. If someone is only concerned about receiving help from someone and not about that person’s safety, then that person is not a very caring person. At the end of day 6 in Olimar’s Comeback, Olimar discovered that Louie had again eaten the fruits they had collected and snapped at him. Louie jumps out of the S.P.E.R.O. and runs off into the night, now vulnerable to the nocturnal predators. Instead of feeling guilty, Olimar complains about Louie to the president and pretends to have simply asked Louie a question (he acknowledged to himself before the ‘Search for Louie’ level starts that he snapped at him; therefore, he had pretended to be the innocent one). Before the level started, Olimar wrote, “I may have been too hard on Louie [...] not that he’s blameless here, of course.” Olimar isn’t convinced that he was too harsh and that Louie deserved it. Olimar did eventually realize that he was too harsh, but he seemed only bothered by needing to apologize (based on his icons past the see-saw block; blank expression when acknowledging he was too harsh, but shocked by needing to apologize). After rebuilding the Hocotate Freight Ship, Olimar downplayed Louie’s commitment. (The president is a jerk in Pikmin 3 Deluxe, but even he is more grateful than Olimar is.) I understand Olimar wants to buy back his S.S. Dolphin and see his family, but he doesn’t appear to see any value in Louie’s life. He almost seems to view Louie as something that was supposed to exist just to benefit him. 4) Olimar is a terrible leader for the Pikmin in Pikmin 3. In the survey logs, Olimar just watches with a blank expression as the Pikmin die. Just like when Louie suffers, Olimar sometimes makes callous remarks. What makes Olimar’s neglect of the Pikmin even worse, is that the Pikmin once saved his life in the original game. Olimar’s neglect of the Pikmin caused the blue Pikmin to essentially become extinct, as only their onion remained. Olimar went to the Formidable Oak in an attempt to collect a ‘treasure’ (the plasm wraith) to buy back his S.S. Dolphin (hinted in the data file by the Hocotate Freight Ship). Olimar would of course need Pikmin to carry the ‘treasure’ to the S.P.E.R.O. Olimar is willing to risk the lives of his former rescuers to buy back a spaceship that he no longer needs and is presumably willing to risk getting every Pikmin killed to collect the ‘treasure’ needed to buy back the spaceship. 5) Now, I know this will sound unreasonable to believe at first, but Olimar was kind of a bad husband and father in Pikmin 2. When Olimar was sent back to Earth, he prioritized writing notes on the treasures over getting home as soon as possible to see his family (the president's email at 3:02 implies that Olimar writes the treasure notes while on the planet's surface). Olimar’s family must have been worried for his safety in the original game due to his delayed return to Hocotate. Even though they know he’s safe in Pikmin 2, they wanted him to come home soon. Olimar seems pretty selfish to care more about writing notes on treasures than to see his family who really wanted him to return. Olimar wasn’t any better after the debt was repaid. In fact, I believe he became even worse. After Olimar exploited the president’s situation for higher paychecks, Olimar’s wife grew corrupt by the wealth (starting at 17:28 in this video). Olimar’s children complained to Olimar about her actions (Olimar’s wife admits to these actions). What could Olimar have done about his wife mistreating their children and their dog? He could have tried getting home as soon as possible to stop her, he could have asked the president and/or the president’s wife to send the normal paychecks again, and he could have spoken to her about her cruelty. Instead, Olimar continues to waste time by writing notes on treasures, rather than try to get home as soon as possible. Olimar isn’t implied to have spoken to the president or the president’s wife. Olimar didn’t speak to his wife about her awful behavior, if he had, then she and possibly their children would have acknowledged Olimar doing so. (Fortunately, Olimar’s wife changed at 19:15 in the video.) I doubt Olimar made any effort to stop his corrupt wife during that time. Even though he has been shown to care about his family several times throughout the games, he seems to care more about writing notes on the treasures and wealth. In conclusion, I believe Olimar is the true villain of Pikmin. He is equally, if not, more selfish than the president (in Pikmin 3 Deluxe). (Olimar consistently values his desires over the needs of those around him.) Olimar inflicts more harm onto others than the president and possibly more than Louie. Unlike Louie and the president, Olimar gets enjoyment from the suffering of those that he hates. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
@@CharacterUnknown Some valid points here. For some reason, the second and third game depicts Olimar's inner demons especially how he ends up leaving Louie twice, expressed hatred over the Pikmin 2 Ship, hating the president for taking his Dolphin, etc. as these bad qualities of him can go on. However, we can't really assume his relationship with the Pikmin where sometimes he cares and not cares about them. For example, he always gets down on himself for causing a Pikmin extinction and mentions his careless actions for losing them all. So at first we can assume he grew fond of them and does not use them as tools but rather sees them as soldiers willing to sacrifice their lives to help him. However, like you mention, he starts to care for them less and less as the game goes on because now that they can survive on their own and no longer need him, his only purpose is to retrieve pokos (money.) The big question for me is: Has greed/money drew Olimar to corruption? And not only him, but all of the Hocotations has some insatiable greed in which his was to do whatever it takes to get his ship back and that is getting money. So could money have driven him to this sort of evilness that's growing inside of him, the evil in which he desires for only his own benefits and caring less about his family and his bond with the Pikmin? In addition, he felt Louie only added more problems to his situation as he would only complain for food. He liked tossed the president, Louie, his family, and even the Pikmin all aside and only aim to retrieving money, studying treasures, and getting his ship back. Man, the rabbit hole just goes on and on. But I like your theory about "Olimar not being a hero."

I take my sweet time in pikmin 2. Not even joking that I literally atleast take 40 days for doing the debt because I'm farming sprays and Pikmin.

Top 5 reasons why Olimar is not a hero? Huh, interesting theory. And who knows to this day if Louie is evil.
This is one thing I love about the Pikmin fandom, there's so many different theories and everyone has a different viewpoint on the characters.
@@Pro_GameMaster888 Here are the 5 biggest reasons why I believe Olimar is not a hero (not in order):
1) His treatment of the president in Pikmin 2.
