The yellow is the ignition wire from the ignition coil. Voltage through that fluctuates with the engine RPM. For an engine without a separate lighting coil (this one), you have to go straight to the battery for the positive connection (via a switch obviously). Negative side can go to any grounded wire or surface that's connected to the negative pole on the battery. The light will work independently of the engine (running or not) and be completely steady in brightness. Only downside is that you have to remember to turn it off or you'll drain the battery. Nice light! You've inspired me to put one on my 110L.

You need to put a resistor in with the wiring. Your bike is running A.C. those lights are DC. That will stop the flicking. Had to do this for the 24hr bark buster race up there in NY on my 300 xc

from the light run the postive to the switch and another seperate postive from the switch to the battery and the negative from the light to the battery

Just move the mount bracket to the top of your bar clamps (in between each side of the bars) so if sits better

How did you solve the issue of the light only working when you rev the engine
So i have an 03 flywing mx 100. Its a pw80 clone with a honda 50cc stroked and bored to be a 100cc and i just picked it up for 20 bucks. All i had to do was remove rust from the rear drum and replace the coil. This is my first bike and i was wondering if anybody can give me advice on the best upgrades. Thanks

Ive got a 1993 Xr100r and i drilled a hole through my handle bars. I bought a battery and wired it to that with a switch on my handle bars
Im aware the hole isnt my safest bet
