This is Beyoncé’s song from Lemonade. The Chicks covered it at
one of their shows. Which led to this performance on the CMA’s and they also recorded this version.

Daddy Lessons is from Lemonade. But about 3/4 into the song they go into a Dixie Chick's song called Long Time Gone then back to Daddy Lessons. When they are singing "I think...." that's the Chck's song.

You do know that Daddy's Lessons is off her Lemonade album. The Dixie Chicks loved it so much that they started covering it on their concert tour.
Beyonce's Lemonade album had a whole mix of different genres. Beyonce's mother is from New Orleans so this song sounds like a New Orleans Jamboree to me.
Beyonce's father is from Alabama, and she was born and raised in Texas. She is a southerner.
When CMA's contacted Beyoncé to ask if she'd perform it at the 50th celebration, Beyoncé had a condition that the Dixie chicks will play it with her. They haven't been invited there since they criticized Bush Jr. for his presidency.
They got together and did a newer version of the song, so that right after the show aired, Beyoncé released the sale of it so people could buy and upload it right away.
The one they recorded sounds more like this performanc but I think I would have liked if they sold the CMA performance because I like this live version more.
They sound amazing.
The CMA's b*tched up and took this performance down on their website because too many racists jerks were leaving racists and bigoted comments about her performing country on their show.
CMA's said that Beyoncé called them and told them to take it down so they won't cause controversy, but I think that's a cover up.
I think if they had the balls to put her on the show for ratings....cuz let's face it, if you put her on your show, her fans will watch and your ratings skyrocket, then they should have had her back and the Dixie Chicks.
They should have shut down the comments section and kept the performance up, with posting a statement that they do not tolerate that type of behavior on their platform... but they didn't do that
Because of their performance, it was their highest viewed CMA show, ever.
Lead singer of The Chicks, Natalie, posted on her Instagram about them taking it down and said she didn't care because she got to perform with Beyonce on their dime.😂
In an interview, she said they later posted it back up.
None the less, she got her money and advertisement for new fans that didn't even know about that song.
She was paying tribute to her country roots too. Country music was founded in R&B (rhythm and blues), gospel and negro slave songs. But country music listeners today want to ignore that fact and deny it.

It’s Beyoncé’s song, she has a remix with them on it. This was from the lemonade album, which wasn’t country. But her upcoming album will be out 3.29 and it’ll be all country!
Daddy Lessons is one of my favourite songs from the Lemonade album.
