The Garfield Movie Gave Me Diabetes - Garfield Movie Review

- The Garfield Movie Review - Garfield is back, baby! Except, he's not really back at all. This new animated Garfield movie might appeal to very small children but no one over 8 is going to enjoy themselves here. I sadly went out and watched the new Garfield movie and left someone less fulfilled in life than ever before. Something I previously didn't think was even possible. Thanks Garfield.

I'm tired of studios not using voice actors
Agreed, friend
Thank you for bringing up the Peanuts movie from 2015, that was such an amazing and faithful adaption of the original strip and specials. Charlie Brown and Snoopy are more fit for an hour-long film than Garfield is. Godspeed Jim Davis.
What about Stand By Me Doraemon???
Apparently this is the worst Memorial Day weekend at the box office in 30years……
At least it is not the live action one
Because people like you listen to this goose and don't go and support Cinemas.
The thing is, these characters can still work for modern audiences, the people behind them just have to realize why they were popular in the first place and bring that to the forefront again, which involves getting in touch with their humanity and forming a real connection with others...
Entertainment is screwed.
Damn, throwing shade at Garfield and Friends.
Lol
I was literally trying the studios need to take a page out of The Peanuts Movie 2015, the animation was beautiful and they really respected the property.
The Captain Underpants Movie in 2017 gave me the same vibe.
Did you really just attack the Garfield and Friends show
The friends were ok but the garfield shorts were so funny. Iloved the buddy bears
Garfield cartoons died when Lorenzo Music died. People might laugh at my comment but, the Garfield Halloween and Garfield Christmas had heart at the end of the episodes. I grew up with those specials and they used to be on every holiday season
Garfield & Friends was the best of times for Garfield fans. It had the spirit, art design, and sarcastic wit of the comics, while also making it palatable for children of younger ages. Perfect execution.
@@charlessmallwood4473 and it has Lorenzo Music
The Holiday Specials and Garfield & Friends was peak Garfield.
The Garfield Show felt and looked cheap - it was like a fever dream suitable only for low-tier memes.
@@OtterloopBat least the Garfield show isn’t the live action film
Is that s actual name?
The 2004 movie was also garbage. So it runs in the family, I guess?
No kid today on Earth has said they must go see a Garfield film. Parents have to make the awful choice. Shame on you.
I actually liked it😂 it’s a good movie NOT A GREAT MOVIE but it’s Garfield what did you expect?
I wore foam ear plugs to The Fall Guy and I had no problem hearing the dialogue. Wearing ear protection makes the film more enjoyable and safe. Sounds over 85 decibels can damage your hearing and movie theaters have bursts of sound from 100-110 decibels.
My expectations were way too high and I got mad when it was over. This was the first time I felt like I wasted money in the cinemas... and I saw Migration.
Oh no not the diabeetus lol 😂
Bah Humbug! WTH were you expecting from a Garfield movie? Citizen Kane?
I pretty certain this Garfield film would of been success if they got Bill Murrey back to do the voice!
He didn’t want to
Considering he hated doing the live action movies, he would refuse to reprise his role
Thanks Adam, You saved me $40...
I'm only here to comment for the algo and have an excuse to say I can't wait for you to review Hit Man! I'm reading that it's pretty great!
At first I thought you said Chris Pine and I was like oh that sounds good.
This is a great example of when the movie review is way funnier than the actual movie!!😂 thanks for saving me the money, Adam
Didn't see this trailer, I had 0 desire to watch it when I saw it on a poster. If Garfield was voiced by Kevin James that'd be hilarious and would have me sold.
I think somebody like Paul Giamati would be perfect.
Garfield and friends was my jam lol
Are there only 5 actors that are viable to do basically everything on films?
The vast vast vast majority of Famous Actors who do voiceover work for animation etc fail, as they're not very good when just relying on their voice. You need someone with the awesome range of Mark Hamill as a rare Fanous exception, but instead, another anonymous Chris.
He has no personality and it changed the entire character of garfield
I first read it as giving you... y'know what, never mind
This movie literally makes the live action Garfield movies and that ATROCIOUS 2009 reboot of Garfield and Friends look like MASTERPIECES in comparison.
At least Garfield doesn’t kiss humans here
I took my 5 year old granddaughter to see this movie and we both enjoyed it, made us laugh! Is it an Oscar nominated movie contender no, but it made us laugh so it was worth watching.
I haven’t seen it yet, but I was worried that it wouldn’t be the Garfield that I remembered.
My main question is does it surpass Garfield 2: A Tail of Two Kitties?
Lol probably.. 😂
The Bill Murray Garfield movies are on the same level as Shark Tale.
I enjoyed it. And I'm the biggest Garfield fan in the world.
I didnt even know it existed until now
Which is a surprise, considering that this movie had, like, 20 trailers and posters out before it released. 😂
This looked very dumb. I will wait for streaming and watch it just to watch it in a few months for free at home. It got critically panned. I actually liked the old animated shows alot, but I grew up with it. If you did not like it I will never ever watch you again! Lol. I am just kidding, I think I was just the correct age to get into it (a couple of years on this one makes a difference) to like it growing up.
Adam....I think you should review the new Atlas movie...lol🤣
I did. Video goes up later today
I doubt Hollywood has reached this peak of cynicism since the 60's or 70's
i feel so gay watching your intro man. stop winking at me bruh
the title
the thumbnail
the fuckin title and thumbnail
Ive not even seen the trailer. Zero interest
I just saw this last night. Terrible.
At least it’s not the live action ones
@@Gorilla-r4g True ☺️
Loved it 😂
chris cat
killer shirt
So it's so bad even Rich Evans is defeatable to that level of diabeetus?
I saw one trailer and i noped outta here like avoiding a train, Furiosa got my money this week
Did you see that this movie might make more money than Furiosa for this weekend?! I guess it is bombing for some reason. Thanks for enduring this movie for the review!
I don’t think general audiences care about mad max as a franchise, people forget that just cos Fury Road was a good movie doesn’t mean it was a box office smash
@@mk6rfc1 I'm not saying it's a bad movie, I haven't seen it. Just surprised the marketing around Furiosa isn't pushing it past something as awful as this with a pretty narrow audience.
Pit an R rated film against and kids film, 9 times out of the 10 the kids film wins.
@@bryandavismoviefan I wasn’t saying Furiosa was bad, I haven’t seen it yet either and hear nothing but good things about it from people who have, I was saying the people who have seen it are more of a niche audience and your average moviegoer doesn’t care about that world whereas something like Garfield narrowly beating it isn’t shocking
Garfield is pretty certain to do better then Furiosa! Furiosa should of been a streaming show!
I personally liked it. Mostly because the comedy seems like the type of comedy that I have. Edit: Chris Pratt is a decent Garfield. Yeah, I said it. Although, I do agree that it wasn’t the best choice. Another Edit (Last one I swear): And I think that the father and son plot line was pretty heartwarming so… High 7/10, Low 8/10.
Garfield and Friends was ok, not fantastic show, but Garfield animated specials were very good, almost classics. Garfield on the town was this movie done right. I think this movie could have worked, the animation is pretty funny, but the script not much. Thats why the slapstick was probably the funniest part. I watched it in Spain dubbed and I dont know about Chris Pratt's voice but just in the trailers he is much better than the spanish celebrity they used for the role.
The Garfield Christmas Special was solid. I watch it every year.
Nicholas Hoult is British!
It is sad that almost everything is a rebrand , a reboot, or segual/prequel.
I legitimately pointed out how garbage this looked and got accused of hating animation by some person claiming to be autistic online and they were saying I'm making fun of them for calling this movie out. I never said I hate animation. I hate pointless and stupid animation. I love animated films with some depth to them like Spiderverse, How to Train Your Dragon, Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio and any of the Walt Disney era of animated classics. Not this garbage and I made valid points about why I have no interest in this. I know it's just online chatter but seriously accusing me of making fun of someone when I never did because I said I have no interest in this because I actually like films to be worth it. I've been watching more of my Criterion Collection shelf lately than new stuff because that's actually cinema. Watched The Great Dictator with Charlie Chaplin last night.
Trust me guys, it's an absolutely fantastic film, with a great 3 part structure, great voice casting and this spud can get over that this film has Garfiekd go on a huge adventure, whike being exactly how he was in the comics.
Pratt's voice was perfect.. What grumpy ass Adam doesn't get is this is s younger Gargield, not old super fat Garfield.
It's an entertaining fun film.
Adam is so full of himself...Rubbish review.
Go see it guys, it's heart warming fun and my audience loved it.
Ngl I feel like these critics main problem with the movie is that it doesn’t really resemble Garfield that much
Like come on does it really matter
Because you can view it as a fun heist movie where a father a son slowly bond and settle their differences
Mark dindal wanted to make the movie funny because what would you really do with a movie where the character stays in the house all day
So Garfield can be anything. He is one of those characters that can be used for anything
Like come on Adam have some fun with the heist aspects of the film
Garfield is not a kid friendly character
Look at the box office....got told
Danny devito should have voiced Garfield
