I find that Aztec clay masks help with drawing out cystic pimples and encourage faster healing time. I don’t use them all over my face, but rather just the area with the zit.

i ADORE the aztec clay mask lmao. it makes my skin pretty red as well, but i find that it’s worth it! it always makes my skin look sosososo clean and d r a i n s my pores. personally, the redness goes away in around 30 mins and my skin feels great after that! no irritation etc, my skin actually feels really calm when i use it. my skin’s pretty dry but i layer on some moisturizer after (ideally my lavender and oat one to calm it down even more) and good to go! idk, works for some and not others, sucks that it didn’t work as well for you though :(

I bought the Aztec clay mask off amazon. The reason I love it is because it's only one ingredient. I have sensitive skin that's prone to allergic reactions. I mix it with water instead of apple cider vinegar to avoid allergic reactions. Although it does make my skin red and a bit dry, I just put on a heavy night cream to restore the moisture and calm the redness :)

you can really add to the mask (almost) any other product that you love and know works for you to help soothe and/or moisturize, I like to put a few drops of my premium hyaluronic acid solution from hada labo and some of my lotion. when I take the mask off (with warm water) I find that my skin isn't as red as it would be without the extra ingredients. after, I put on my brightening serum, reapply the hyaluronic acid and moisturizer, and that's it.

What is your water to powder ratio? I have found that any time I try to mix it with water, the consistency just isn’t right. With Apple cider vinegar, it makes the mask spreadable, but I’d love to find a way to use it with water, because the vinegar makes my eyes water so much from the scent

Ashley Toner today I did the mask with water and i basically just did a spoonful exactly (like i took out the extra layers on top by sliding it off with my finger if that makes sense) and then i put the same amount of water and if necessary you just add only a pinch of the other

Echidna Spikes my skin is pretty average. Not too sensitive but still can get irritated fast if I use the wrong stuff. I’ve been using the Aztec mask with Apple Cider Vinegar, and although it’s working, my skin has been super sensitive after. I’m fine if I put a moisturizer on and sometimes an ice roller, but it still does get inflamed. Normally the redness lasts 20 minutes at most, although my first time using it lasted almost double that.

    • @fishlover2512

Also be sure to wash it off gently. Although it’s tempting, picking away at the cracked clay can really beat up your skin and make it super irritated.

I have the Indian clay mask and it's been amazing for my skin--but it is an intense mask so you have to heavily moisturize afterward like Hyram said. I heard that acv is harmful to the skin so I wouldn't recommend using it. I switch up the ingredients I use but I usually put honey, warm water/green tea, and a few drops of manuka oil in it. I steam my face for a few minutes before I apply the mask and that does wonders too. I hope that helps anyone😂

I use the Aztec clay to purge my armpits, knee pits, and soles of my feet once a month. Mixed with ACV, it’s crazy how much gunk it helps detox! It pulls so much nasty stuff out! It’s especially important to detox your pits if you switch to natural, aluminum-free deodorant. You can even use it to remove splinters. Amazing. Bless.

    • @nicolson.eliana
      @nicolson.eliana 4 роки тому +15

      Lena Ray
I use equal parts Aztec clay and liquid (water, ACV, or both)
      1) Put 1/4 - 1/3 cup of Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay into a glass bowl
      2) Add 1/4 - 1/3 cup of ACV (replace with water for a more gentle mask, OR mix water and ACV for medium strength)
      3) Mix together with plastic utensils (plastic knives are great for breaking lumps apart!)
      4) Apply to your skin in a thicker, even layer (this isn’t a sheet mask😁)
      5) Allow mask to dry 5-10 min for delicate (aka sensitive) skin, or 15-20 min for normal skin
      6) Remove by wetting the mask with warm water, using a damp wash cloth to gently wipe the green goop from your skin
      7) Rinse your face with cold water (as cold as the tap gets👌🏻)
...the entire process takes about 35-40 minutes. Which sucks.

Great review! I have the Indian clay mask. I'm gonna get some Matcha green tea powder and cut it into my mask.
    This is my plan:
-1 Tablespoon Indian Clay Mask Powder
-1 Tablespoon Matcha Green Tea Powder
    -1 Tablespoon Raw Honey
    -1.5 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
I'll post an update. But I have a good feeling.
Edit: Spelling and amendment to the measurement of the Apple Cider Vinegar.

      Okay everyone.
I was finally able to grab some Matcha green tea powder and try this out.
I combined the dry ingredients first like I was making a cookie recipe or something. Then I poured in an eyeballed amount of raw honey and the one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. It seemed dryer than I wanted so I added a little bit more for a total of 1.5 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
Once I combined everything and started to apply the mask, the first thing I noticed was how amazing the mask smelled. I never really had matcha green tea before. But after reading about its benefits as a drink, I think I'm going to start using it in my daily life. It's amazing.
Anyway, the mask felt really nice on my skin and after about ten minutes or so, I could feel the Indian clay doing it's usual work but it seemed that the honey was also taking the edge off. Once dried, the mask went from a deep olive green to a blackened green.
I took a shower and cleansed my face gently to make sure I got all of the mask off.
I still need to do my moisturizing ritual, but I must say that my skin feels very nice. It had a nice glow to it when I exited the shower and my does it feel soft.
I'll be making this a weekly ritual. However, I think I'll still use the bare Indian clay mask as it's directed once a month just to get that full detoxification. But this is really nice!
Thanks for waiting patiently for me to follow through with my proposed experiment.

Briahnna Curtis its a powder and you’re supposed to mix it with apple cider vinegar until it gets to a good consistency. apply a thin layer and let it dry. it’s honestly not a pleasant experience at first, but you will eventually get used to it. then when you have to take it off, what I usually do is I’ll get a washcloth and soak it with water, then I just leave it on my face for 30-ish seconds so its a little bit easier. its a pain in the ass to take off. you skin will probably be extremely red afterwards, but that’s 100% normal. make sure to follow up with a good moisturizer. even tho its not the most enjoyable thing in the world, the results are 100% worth it

My skin does go red after so I do it at night and it’s looks lovely in the morning. Love this face mask I’ve got all my friends on it. Oh for those that are looking for a gentler clay mask, masks formulated with kaolin clay in my experience tends to be milder. There are many creamy versions out there that don’t dry out the skin and become super tight on your face. Bentonite however really is the big daddy when it comes to suction abilities though much harsher because of it.

I recommend Brew up some green tea and use that as your liquid additive instead. It provides a lot more benefits and also doesn’t make the product as harsh on your skin and I’m the type to ignore my timer and finish my youtube video before I go wash it off. Like all skin care we are all different but might as well comment this in case people already own it and don’t know what to do with instead of throwing it away. Hope this helps anyone.

My skin has been massively purging this past 6 weeks and honestly after using this mask the past 7 days, the congestion has almost totally disappeared. It definitely leaves your skin red/flushed but this is because it’s stimulating blood flow and I love when it gets rock hard and you can feel it pulsate on your face! If matcha was less expensive, I'd use it alone as a mask since it makes a huge difference for my rosacea. I know, diy masks are not the best, but I bought the aztec mask and couldn't let it go to waste. I also use most of the ingredients that are in the teami minus lemongrass, preservatives, anything not mentioned, and honey + jojoba for hydration to substitute for glycerin.

So, I did try the Teami Detox mask and being a 100% honest with you. It was horrible, as soon as I put it on, in certain spots it started to burn, not tingle..BURN. I do have combination oily skin, and I wouldn't consider myself to be sensitive, however that mask. I loved everything about it when I did my research but when it came for the time to try it. It did not meet my expectation. Also, I am a Skincare and MASK JUNKIE. My favorite mask is the CITY BLOCK charcoal mask by Clinique. If you recommend anything else!! Im all ears!!!

I’m sad every time he don’t do the “every single week” shimmy. I do it and he’s not doing it with me and it UPSETS ME.

I used to have the same problem with bentonite clay mask because I have super sensitive skin. Then I discovered that adding some honey and a few drops of olive oil and acv really makes it work wonders!

if the Aztec clay mask is irritating your skin skip the Apple cider vinegar. It’s not the mask itself thats drying out your skin it’s the apple cider vinegar. I’ve been using water my face was never irritated or dry. Consider using a hydrating sheet mask for more hydration.

aztec help me so so much, like he said, it will have results of red skin and little dry after, that's why you moisturize after. But it is all worth it tbh.

though your review on the aztec clay mask is pretty accurate to my experience and most people's experience (as it says on the container that your face will be red for 30 minutes after using due to pulsing going to your face, which helps with anti aging and wrinkles, similar effects to having an intense work out minus the sweat), i honestly love the aztec clay mask ! after using it for 6 months now my pores has reduced in appearance by a lot and really helps with my oily skin (i have very oily/oily combination skin especially during the summer) and ive even been "glowing" more when using it (my moms words lmao). but to be fair, im down to try the teami mask so maybe my opinion will change.

I just used the Mask, I have normal to dry skin, I only use it for 10 mins maximum! I have only used it with water so far (3 plus times over the month) and I feel like it works nicely. But I just wanna say, that it really pulled the blackheads out of my nose where I STRUGGLE WITH SO MUCH! My nose looks so SQUEEKY CLEAN I AM SHOOKTH! I have legit struggled with blackheads since I was a teen.

For the Aztec mask, it’s super normal for your skin to be red after using it, says it on the container

I only use the Aztec mask once a week for about eight or nine minutes, or less because my skin is dry but has a ton of acne. I never usually have severe redness afterwards and there’s no irritation to the touch. I then use a good serum and moisturiser which instantly helps replenish my skin. Would not recommend using it any longer than ten minutes for sensitive skin types.
